Then I take it you've never felt the wrath of a woman? Sephiroth may have been bad. But if he had a sister, man she would be RUTHLESS!

No one can touch Sephy for creepiness. *shakes head dazedly*
Although female baddies are intriguing. Like the sorceress lady in.... eight? Whichever one had Squall in it...

(flails) I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!!!!!!
XD.
Really. I've made RPs before. I've made ORIGINAL RPs before. (bemused) Though this one almost requires its own SITE. Heh.
Okay.
We are NOT going to do one villain main. Everyone'll want to be the villain-head. This RP is going to follow a pattern I don't normally do in RPs, but is also commonly done, in which we will list a certain amount of characters, and the plot will be semi-scripted for the first while. A more video-game style, if I may.
On Barrowdowns, we had one thread, and the RP had a set time period, and people joined as certain characters.
For this RP, before we start it, I am going to insist that we have a certain amount of characters. Pre-set characters.
More or less, character stereotypes.
We're going to form a beginning party, I'll tell everyone where to start, and stuff.
So, videogame experts, tell me the list of characters you get in a basic game. You get the hero, a healer, love interest... give me a list of the stereotypes you see in KotOR and Final Fantasy type games. We'll fill in the MC slots and then flesh out a plot around it.
But I want to have at least two villains. And I want my villains to be skilled writers, as well as uber-main hero. I'll get sample posts for quality for main-main parts. Not to worry, other parts may end up mainer too, this is just getting presets down.
I've never done this type of RP before... snrk.

Well I noticed in both FF10 and Kotor 2 you have some old person leading you on and teaching you how to do things. (Auron and Kreia)
Always have the lovers. (Yuna, Rinoa, Aeris)
Warriors fighting for their love (Squall, Cloud)
Mages (black or white) ((Edea, Aeris, Lulu, Yuna)
Usually in my games I assign one person with all the summons. I had Cloud and Leon in 7 and 8. Yuna in 10 of course.
All I could come up with for now. Hope it helps

you also need sidekicks ((KOTORI & II: Carth, Atton, Boa-dur, Mira, Juhani, Canderous and Mandalore.))
((FF: Cid, Vincent, CaitSith, Barret and Yuffie.))
You should also have Main Hero/heroine's Buddie. You know, someone they talk to and hang out with.
I like the Idea of two villians, each working against each other. Then when you don't expect it, the join together!

That might be a good idea. Yea the hero should have at least one person to confess to. And ask them for opinions and such. Two villians who hate each other. That could aid us or be against us. You never know, their hate for each other and they'll end up killing each other before we get to them. That would be no fun.

I'll probably take one villain if no one minds...
And, they're not JUST sidekicks. Each one fills a sort of stereotype. Anti-hero... person who used to be evil but joined party... healer... mentor... warrior...
There usually seems to be the following motives.
Hero- save world/girlfriend/boyfriend! Anti-hero- a bit like a hero, but with generally very unhero traits. They'll save people's lives, but unwillingly. They have other motives. They're the dark, broody anime guys with long hair; the goth girls... Jandalf's character Ira and mine as Tiana in our story are good examples of anti-hero types. They'll be bumbling, darker... you know. Mentor- Wise, know a lot, and DARNIT do they ever die a lot! Quiet healer- They always seem to be there to heal the hero. Powerful type. Heroes do fall in love with them a lot. Love interest- Sometimes an obvious part of the plot, ei, Yuna... sometimes more like Arwen. Evil person who turned good and joined the party because they felt bad- ei, Juhani. Traitor-type. Mage/magic user
There's a few general stereotypes. We should pick out the definate needed ones, try to get about 5 girls and 5 guys needed between heroes and villains... not tooooo many characters to get a good start.
If we do a male and a female villain, that'd be good. Or even two, as long as they have strongly differing stereotypes. And I'd play either.
Shall we try...
1) Male hero/warrior fighting for love 2) Female hero/love interest of male hero 3) Female healer/white mage 4) Male mentor/person who teaches stuff. 5) Male anti-hero. This just means he has to have his own motives, but still a reason for being on the party. 6) Female possibly previously evil person/black mage 7) Female anti-hero or princess OR traitor to party. 8) Male useful member of party with some sort of snazzy useful skill, like computer hacking, that gets plugged in because of this, OR person helping one of the villains in a higher position, a la admiral or something OR misunderstood evil but not EVIL person. 9) Male villain, maniacal AC-7/Sephy type? 10) Female villain, a la power crazy sorcerous type/FF 8 type?
And probably a couple of evilish people, like Kadaj and other silver-haired dude, or you know.

I like that idea. I think we should have a higher up help the villian. Might give us another quest to do. I also think the villian should be crazier than Sephy. Just to be unique. But I dunno if that's possible. I didn't think that the sorcoress in 8 were all that... I dunno... Evil?
Otherwise I like what you have. I say we go with it.

Hmm. Also the person who was saved by the hero and wants to be just like him/her. E.G. The Kid from The Matrix Reloaded that was annoying Neo.

Yea... but you don't see that in Final Fantasy or something like that. Which is what we're trying to do. Perhaps we could have a Matrix rpg. Two worlds between the Matrix and the Real World. But that's kinda off topic. If you can find someone in the rpgs that wants to be like the main char please do, prove me wrong. I like that haha.

I'd like to be the main char, but I think I'm too inexperienced for something on this scale. I could be the useful guy that is very quiet and hangs around.

*runs past the thread then squeals to a stop quickly back tracking* Final Fantasy? AWESOME!!!!! Ok I want to play one of the baddies. I have a piccy and a couple of ideas on her personality but nothing solid-like as of yet. I don't have a name either so I'ma open too all suggestive like type things. And don't let those big violet eyes confuse you. Behind that cutesy appearance is a violent squirell/lemur just waiting to get out!

As I previously posted, characters who are basically leading the plot forward have to be skilled RPers.
This seems to be the potential...
1) Male hero/warrior fighting for love 2) Female hero/love interest of male hero 3) Female healer/white mage
4- Jandalf, because Jandalf doesn't mind characters who get killed off. 4) Male mentor/person who teaches stuff.
5) Male anti-hero. This just means he has to have his own motives, but still a reason for being on the party. 6) Female possibly previously evil person/black mage
7-daughter of darkness, who should realize that she'll have to post regularly to take the part. 7) Female anti-hero or princess OR traitor to party.
8-Cluge, because this counts as pretty mainish, eh? 8) Male useful member of party with some sort of snazzy useful skill, like computer hacking, that gets plugged in because of this, OR person helping one of the villains in a higher position, a la admiral or something OR misunderstood evil but not EVIL person.
9-Tiana. Ohhh, yes, that's right, I RP guys. 9) Male villain, maniacal AC-7/Sephy type?
10) Female villain, a la power crazy sorcerous type/FF 8 type?
Also... no aliases in main roles. At least the main MAIN roles.

well, my char that 'ill be using is an Ex-SOLDIER, ((if Shinra Corp is active in time of rp)) with some unnatural abilities. ((His main powers are wind manipulation and supa speed, it borders relativity.))

I'll pretend I understood that.
I AM working by what I can get from google... XP.
That's fine. I'm filling you into the character with random useful ability type slot, because that can be anything from solider to hacker. If your RP skills can get good enough quickly to take hero, that's fine, but I'm not sure if you're a strong enough RPer yet...
