Sadly, it didn't work-- because Tiana was being locked into darkness by another power, more powerful than Jandalf, and MUCH more powerful than a cake!
However, the P.G. Faerie did appear, and slapped Jandalf. "How dare you think such words!"
N2: Seemingly, she managed to come back to life after Adrienne killed her... uhh... after church.
"Grrrrrrr..."
N2: Well, she DID!
The little blue faerie buzzed around, looking quite annoyed. "...must...not...turn...darkside..."
N2: GASP!!! THAT'S NOT PG!!!!!!
However, Tiana remained in the Shadow Realm, and their efforts were futile. MWHA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!

Maeg looked slightly hurt at Jandalf's sudden outburst.
"I don't want your cake," she muttered. It was a terrible comeback, but her Elven Jedi Mindpowers were still shouting about something. It was getting harder and harder for her to understand them, though, and only half of her consciousness was with her aboard the pirate ship. The other half was trying to subdue her mindpowers.
STOP BEING STUPID AND PAY ATTENTION! The mental screech came so suddenly and was so intense that Maeg almost fell backwards.
You know nothing of Tiana's LotG, and very little about her involvement with Shadow, they said, having gotten her full attention.
"Yes, I am aware of that," Maeg muttered moodily.
Well, maybe you should let Jandalf work things out. She knows Tiana a lot better than you do.
"THEN WHY THE HECK DO YOU KEEP BOTHERING ME ABOUT IT IF YOU WANT ME TO LEAVE THE PROBLEM-SOLVING TO HER!?"
No one says you can't be observant and pick up a few things by yourself, they reminded her smugly. Here's a hint: Keep an eye on Shadow.
Why do I even bother with Jedi Elven Mindpowers? They're so annoying. Maeg plastered a friendly smile on her face and turned back to Jandalf and Shadow.
"Sorry about that," she said. "PG Faerie, you have to forgive us. Emotions run high during times of high stress, and I'd say that losing a Padawan to a mysterious shadow realm more powerful than both Jandalf and cake is pretty stressful."

((If you want, Maeg, I can enlighten you on what the heck is going on... sorta... I mean, I don't even know fully... it's always like that when I RP... heh... but I can explain through PM the whole Shadow Realm thing, though you're doing well enough on picking up subtile hints as it is, I think...))
The P.G. Faerie forgave them their misdeeds, and then, having finished her goal, disappeared in a loud thud, and a puff of purple polka-dotted smoke-- proof as usual that Tiana's skills as a narrator were rather lax-- being both unable to kavamm things properly, and handle making characters disappear randomly.
Tiana jumped up and down and screamed. Being trapped in a freaky shadowy realm was not her idea of fun. However, jumping up and down failed as well, because she just fell through and hit the non-existant floor. Whoa... that was freaky.
She had the strangest feeling that of all the real-worlders (besides Shadow), Maeg was the most likely to hear her. So she closed her eyes, and blasted out with all her weird and freaky powers, MAEGGALADIEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M HEEEERRRREEEEEE!!!! TALK TO SHADOW!!!!!!!!
Tiana fell backwards, and sat down... hoping that she had been heard in the real world.
Maeggaladiel, are you sure you don't know anything about the LotG stories? the narrator asked. Or are your powers that sensitive... because I think you're catching on more than Jandalf is at the moment.
HEY!!!! I CAN TALK!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!! *parties* I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO TALK OUTSIDE OF NARRATION!!!! Now all I need is QUOTE MARKS!
In the meantime, Shadow was keeping a very close eye on Maeg... Jandalf, as usual, was too panicked to cause any damage, but the nearsighted elf leader... she was sharp. Too sharp... You won't get past me, Maeggaladiel...

Suddenly Jandalf glared, past the cake. "Wait a minute. Waaaaaaait one minute."
She thought about this situation for perhaps less than a second, because that's all it really took. Not much more than putting two and two together, really. Absently, she handed Maeggaladiel the cake while she snapped out of it. "Hm. Okay, then." She whirled around and withdrew her necklace, and hanging upon it was...a small emerald set golden pendant.
N1: Dun-dun-daaahhhh...NOW SHADOW IS FORCED TO REACT!!!

/Co-ed with Tiana again\
Shadow took a deep breath. "BUT I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO KEEP THE LOTG PLOT OUT OF THIS!!!!!" she screamed. "NOW MAEGGALADIEL WILL BE LOST AND WON'T UNDERSTAND A THING WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!" She breathed out hard, and sat down. "Oh well, since you're going to play like that, then I suppose I can go right back and come up with things you won't understand since we haven't continued from where we left off in the chat RPG. You still don't know the signifigance of that charm." She grinned that irritating smile. "So therefore, you don't know how to use it to make me talk. Haha!" yet... I suppose you'll figure it out tommorow...
Tiana snickered in the Shadow realm. "Good one, master," she mutttered. "Crossover the two stories, and then Shadow will be caught in the middle!" She pulled out a chain she wore-- it just happened to be matching to the one Jandalf was using to attempt to make Shadow talk. It also matched the one Shadow wore from a hair piece. And, for that matter, she was pretty sure that the way the plot was going, more of these charms would show up. They had a rather interesting signifigance, anyhow... a way to bind all realms together, and in the shadows bind them.
And you have now got your official spoiler/plot bunny of the day from the narrator. Probably confused you, if you even picked up on it. But maybe you did, and maybe you'll have an idea of what is going on here.
Anyhow, since Shadow was forced to react, react she did. After the first appearing moment, she sat down, and muttered cursed in Huttese and Elvish. Not exactly the reaction Jandalf had been hoping for, but a reaction nonetheless, and proof that Shadow did, indeed, know something more...

Maeg covered her mouth in suprise, as she could fully understand the elven curses that Shadow let out.
Hey Maeg, her Jedi Elven Mindpowers called her name casually.
Shut up. I know that I use the same curses myself, you don't have to remind me. Maeg replied grouchily. She could almost her her mindpowers laughing. If they could laugh.
Actually, we just wanted to tell you that you've got mail, they said smugly. Maeg blinked in confusion.
What mail- she tried to ask the question, but she was interrupted by a voice in her head. Tiana's voice.
MAEGGALADIEL! I'M HEEEEEEEERE! TALK TO SHADOW!
"Woah!" She cried aloud. Then she blushed, since Jandalf and Shadow were staring at her. "I think I just got a message from Tiana," she explained. She looked from Shadow to Jandalf, making note of the strange golden pendants without trying to stare at them. Something was going on here, somthing that was much larger than what it seemed. Jandalf, Shadow, and Tiana were connected somehow; the amulets seemed to prove that.
She felt a momentary tinge of pride as she realized Tiana was somehow complimenting her on her "catching-on" abilities. She really did know nothing about LotG, but by Eru, she was going to find out right now.
"I know something is going on," she said sternly. "Tiana tells me to talk to you, Shadow. I'm sorry if I'm butting into things that are private between you, Jandalf, and Tiana, but somehow I think the only way we can fix this is to work together. I have no idea about the significance of those pendants, but I do know that you and Tiana are somehow the exact opposite of each other. Correct me if I'm wrong."
She had other accusations about Tiana and Shadow, but she wasn't ready to make them. Something told her she was walking onto unstable ground.

((Heeheeheee... Laura's narrating over my shoulder, so I'm not godmodding! Heh...))
Tiana jumped up and down happily, or more, attempted to. Maeggaladiel!!!!!! you GOT IT!!!!!! She cheered. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP ME!!!!!!!!!
Of course, the shadows that were all around her prevented her from jumping up and down without falling through again, so... yeah. They also somehow made it so she couldn't talk, if you didn't notice THAT yet!
Do not think you will escape this easily, Jedi.
Oh, I will, Shadow... don't you underestimate me.
Yeah... right. Hah. You couldn't escape Lara'li or myself, Tiana.
Neither could you.
DON'T remind me![/i]
Tiana snickered, and sat down again.
"Uhhh..." Shadow suddenly realised that she was caught between a rock and a hammer. She muttered more curses in elvish, quite conscious that Maeg could understand them. "Exact opposite... sort of..." She cringed slightly. "No, you have no idea of the signifiganges of a lot of the stuff going on, Maeggaladiel... but you have more ideas, don't you."
The narrator of Maeg's post had been right-- she was walking on unstable ground, and there were other accusions that I'd be interested in hearing-- to see if she's read correctly. Or her Elven Jedi Mindpowers told her what was going on...
((What ARE you suspecting, Maeg... because you may just be correct...))

Jandalf managed to collect herself. "Ah...Maeg, please feel free to butt in whenever you feel it's necessary." Then she bent down, and slapped Shadow in the face. "That's for cursing like that in Huttese. Even I don't use THAT one! It's a good thing Maeg didn't understand it. I hope." She muttered something about obscure Huttese curse words, then straightened up.
"Well. Since we all seem to be irrevocably confused in one way or another...I'm going to go take a swim." She grinned. Maybe they'll figure out I have something else in mind. Maybe I'll figure out I have no idea what I'm up to.
Meh. At this point...I can't really lose.

"Ow!" Shadow rubbed her face, and wondered whether getting slapped had added any color to her face. "And it's not like you have to bend over to reach my face-- I'm not that short... I am wearing platforms..." Shadow muttered the evil-e Huttese curse word that had caused Jandalf to slap her again.
Confused, she watched the very orange Jedi Master dive into the water. Okay, fine, so Shadow had actually pushed her with the Force, being rather annoyed about being slapped. I mean, it's not like I'm her Padawan... mutter. Luckly, the dye in her robes didn't bleed all over the place, and the water remained blue. "Okay, what, exactly, are you up to?" she asked, finally figuring out that her face was not going to be brused.
If she's doing what I think she's doing, I'm going to strangle her.
Not that that'd do much anyhow. Shadow sighed. And if she is doing what I suspect... well... that's inconcequential... I hope.
"If you intend on staying out there, Jandalf, you know very well that I'll follow after to make sure you don't drown with all the volume caused from the robes," Shadow muttered.
Tiana peered into the real world, slightly confused. Unlike Shadow, she had no clue what Jandalf was up to. Besides her height, of course. ASK SHADOW QUESTIONS! she shot through the Force at Maeg. You've GOT TO GET HER TO TELL YOU THE SECRET OF THE SHADOW REALMS!!!!!!!

It was becoming easier for Maeggaladiel to hear Tiana's messages.
"Right," she muttered in reply, even though she had no idea if Tiana could hear her.
She cast a fleeting glance over at Jandalf, having no idea why the orange Istari jumped into the sea and left her alone with an allegedly dangerous Sithly Elf. Ninja. Person. Lady.
Okay, so Shadow had ended her hunch that she and Tiana were exact opposites. But Maeg did have the feeling that there was some sort of delicate balance between them; that one of them was the light and the other the darkness. Shadow was obviously the darker half. She knew that Shadow, Tiana, and Jandalf had all had several run-ins with each other, and they weren't exactly on friendly terms. She also had a feeling that Shadow had somehow trapped Tiana within a shadow realm, a world that, as far as she could guess, was neither part of this dimension or the realm of the dead, but somewhere in between where time and space did not apply. Perhaps it was not even a real world, but a tiny pocket of non-reality that Shadow had somehow created as a prison. Either way, things did not look good.
There was something else: Tiana may be captured, but she wasn't going to go down easily. She was doing all she could to get back. But it wasn't enough.
Maeg took an uncertain step backwards. Shadow was very dangerous, if her guesses were correct, and now that Jandalf had jumped ship, she was all alone. Even her Jedi Elven Mindpowers couldn't save her here.
Of course, she had no intention of telling Shadow too many of her hunches. She liked her head where it was, thankyouverymuch. But still, Tiana told her to find out about this mysterious shadow realm...
Nothing too threatening, now, Maeg. Tell her something.. neutral.
"So, you must be incredibly powerful, Shadow." $@*!! She gave herself a mental slap in the forehead. So much for the neutral approach...
Then it hit her. Shadow WAS incredibly powerful, if she had the strength to lock a jedi padawan like Tiana away in a shadow realm. That meant she had the power to do the same (or worse) to Maeg. Time to make some use of the acting classes, she thought. Change of tactics.
"You must be incredibly powerful, indeed," she said loftily, looking down her nose. "Most impressive, to have accomplished so much. I congratulate you. You must forgive my feigned naievte; I cannot allow fools such as Jandalf and Tiana to know my true potential." She smiled again and looked overboard at the orange dot that was Jandalf underwater.
"Does she actually think she can stop you?" she sniffed. "Your powers have grown; I can sense them. Tell me, for I am dying to know: What trick did you use to trap that meddlesome Tiana? I must admit that you have me stumped." She smiled darkly.

//Actually, you were right, in a manner. Tiana and I are opposites-- the Shadow persona being the darkside and the Tiana side being the lightside. But it's actually a little deeper than just opposites... Jandalf, will you kill me if I let Lara'li into this plot too?\\
Shadow shrugged. She had the feeling that Maeggaladiel would've made one dangerous Jedi or Sith. "It's an easy thing to trap a person in your own realm when your connected to her as I am to Tiana." She smirked. "Very powerful, yes... but so are you, to have actually fooled me more than once. You're an incredible actor, Maeggaladiel of the four eyes-- and would've made a great Sith, or Jedi, for that matter. I'm still not sure which side you're on, to be certain."
She glanced down at Jandalf, and wondered what the heck the Jedi Master was doing. I mean, it wasn't everyday that you see an orange blot in the water... Shadow had an idea, but wasn't too sure. Yet.
Shadow sat down. "Tiana's communicating with you, isn't she?" asked Shadow. "You can sense what she's saying? I'm connected to her-- as you may've guessed-- I can feel her trying to contact you. It'd be interesting to know if she succeeded-- if you're powerful enough to hear her." At the obviously uncertain face that Maeggaladiel wore, Shadow raised her hands. "Hey, I've got nothing against you... yet. Just because I'm evil doesn't mean I'm going to lock every living Force-sensitive into a Shadow Realm for the fun of it. It's not an easy thing to do, anyhow..." She rolled her eyes. "A Padawan isn't that bad-- and I'm rather connected with her as it is-- but I can imagine what would happen if I tried to lock Jandalf into the Shadow Realm without help." She shuddered-- she had actually tried it before-- and it had worked... for a while. With rather nasty consiquences for her in the end.
Smiling grimly, Shadow continued talking-- as, after all, her worst enemies weren't around to hear her, nor was Jandalf. "You comment on your true potential-- but what is it, Maeggaladiel? Are you Force-sensitive, a Jedi trainee, or what? What do you feel? You're obviously powerful--"Maybe even as powerful as me, considering that you're sensing Tiana so well "--so what potential do you have? Would you train as a Jedi if you had that option?" Shadow was aware that Maeggaladiel wasn't exactly open to being questioned, but she figured it couldn't hurt.
Tiana grinned. Oh, you go, Maeg! Shadow is powerful-- but not that powerful. A lot of her is merely all talk, and no action. Her words can sting-- but she really isn't that dangerous at all-- no more powerful than I am. Though she's got a bit more training under her belt, she's only as focused as I can be. By the way, I can hear you just fine, the Padawan added. Shadow isn't able to do too many things at the same time-- she can hold me in here, but she couldn't focus to fight Jandalf, for instance. Not without letting go of her borders, and giving me a way out of here. So... yeah. Glad that you're hearing me, by the way-- if you figure out what Jandalf's up to, do tell me. I'm really, really wondering!

Maeggaladiel gave a smile that was reminiscent to a hungry cat's face.
"Side?" she asked. "I have no need for a side. I am my own side. Yes, I have been listening to Tiana. She has found a way to communicate with me using her Force powers to contact my Jedi Elven Mindpowers. She has confirmed my beliefs that you are behind this wonderful tragedy that has befallen her. Most amusing, if I do say so myself. So, you and she are somehow bonded, or connected? How interesting. I suppose that is both a blessing and a curse?"
She took a moment to observe the orange dot that was Jandalf below the water.
"I wonder how long she'll stay down there," she mused to herself. "I have no idea what she is doing, but I doubt that it will have much effect. Pathetic."
She turned back to Shadow.
"As to your other question, my full potential has nothing to do with either Sithly nor Jedi powers. I have never known my kind to be involved with the Force; we have our own methods. Let's just say that I am not your average nearsighted elf." She smiled again, narrowing her eyes.
"But I am still quite fascinated with your shadow realm. This connection you have with Tiana allows you to trap her in other dimensions? Fascinating! And why would a powerful being such as you be cursed enough to share a bond with a lowly Padawan like Tiana? Surely one of your power would be bonded to a greater being! At least, that seems fair to me."
Sooner or later Tiana would get tired of Maeg dissing her like this, but she'd have to deal with it until Maeg found out what she needed to know.

It was a convenient thing, really, to have a breather tube. Jandalf had stuck the thing into her mouth a split second before plunging into the aquamarine depths of the ocean, and the little tube had gone to work withdrawing oxygen from the water. So, in all essence, Jandalf had given herself gills for a time.
She tried not to smile too widely, as she'd break the seal of her lips around the tube, but she could hardly help quirking a small grin at the sound of Maeg and Shadow's voices conversing through the little waterproof earpiece she liked to carry about. Of course, they were entirely unaware of the microphone planted on the ship. Jandalf had placed it there a while back, thinking the occasion might arise where having a third ear would be necessary.
Score one for the Istari/Jedi foresight, she thought to herself, swimming a little deeper until the pressure could be felt against her ears.
Through the earpiece, the conversation carried on in a tinny representation of Shadow's voice: "A Padawan isn't that bad-- and I'm rather connected with her as it is-- but I can imagine what would happen if I tried to lock Jandalf into the Shadow Realm without help."
Jandalf almost smiled again, a grim expression this time. Shadow had tried that, once, and it had very nearly destroyed Jandalf...but the repercussions for the dark one had been severe enough for her to back off and wait for a better time. If one would ever come.
And my, my, isn't Maeg the wonderful actress.
The orange robed Istari plunged deeper.

((Heh... yeah... *remembers that too clearly* And Shadow hasn't even finished working on what happened when she attempted to take over you, Jandalf... that was... scary. A note to the possibly confused, Shadow... erm... had an interesting power when in her ShadowForm-- she could inhabit people, basically turning them into a darker version of themselves, but she guided their actions. Like Agent Smith, sorta... heh. Later on she was defeated by a character who basically destroyed her ShadowForm, but... yeah. There, spoiler of the day! That should mean spoilers for Jandalf too, unless you guessed what we were up to...
Once again, godmodded, but Shadow's letting me.))
Tiana discovered something then... she could move about in the shadowy version of the real world-- obviously, Shadow wasn't trying to restrict her to her shadowcell as before. She took a tentitve step into the shadowed version of the ship, and walked over to stand beside Maeg and Shadow-- they appeared sort of like holograms to her, and she couldn't touch them, she just went through them. She grinned as she listened to Maeg dissing her, and going on. Aren't you the wonderful actress, she thought wryly. I almost wonder if you even are acting.
She thought a moment. You'd better watch the 'lowly Padawan' stuff, Maeg, or I'll show you just how powerful a Padawan can be when I get out of here.
Shadow felt something wrong. Something... she looked around, but couldn't locate the strange feel. She had the oddest idea that Jandalf was spying on them still, and probably either laughing in her mind about Shadow's manner, or glaring. She wasn't too sure.
She smirked. "You may wish to be slightly careful on what you lable Tiana-- if you haven't guessed the full reason to our connection, I see no reason to explain it. A curse, not really-- without her I'd be dead, and the other way around as well." The Sith shrugged. "Jandalf knows that, it's probably the only reason she didn't just kill me when I attempted to change the connection. You may not see it, but Tiana is more powerful than she appears." She shuddered, and waited a moment. "Much more powerful," she added, after a time.
She turned to Maeg, dark brown eyes-- twin to Tiana's-- burning in her face. "And what of you, then-- more powerful than most of your kind, and yet not. You are very skilled, I must say. You have no qualms in attempting to play me for the fool, I feel." Shadow shrugged. "Not that it matters, either way. We're both helpless, and I couldn't harm you anyhow, if you didn't notice." She gazed at the rapidly diminishing orange dot that was still Jandalf underwater. "I do wonder what she's up to. Listening on us from the distance is fairly useful, but not when one is underwater. She's up to something."

Well.... crud. This wasn't working as well as Maeg had planned. She could almost feel Tiana at her side, probably winding invisible hands around her neck after all she'd said about her. Maeg hadn't gotten too much more out of Shadow, either, and now Shadow was expecting some answer about Maeg's true powers.
She had no idea that Jandalf was listening to her, but she figured that with her karma, anything else she said about the Orange Istari would probably come back to haunt her. Stalling might be a good idea now, since Jandalf seemed to have some kind of plan.
"My powers..." she began, aware that Shadow was watching her very closely. "are indeed different from other elves'. You see, since my physical body is limited by my breathing problems and weak bones, I have found a way to compensate by expanding the powers of my mental 'self.' Hence the Jedi Elven Mindpowers, as I've been referring to them as. In actuality, I'm not certain that they are 'Jedi' at all; I merely added that part to make it sound cool. As I've said, elves really don't use the Force.
"My mindpowers CAN be compatible with the Force, however, in the respect that Force-using beings can communicate on a mental level with me.
"As for my other powers, I have a slight command of magic and..." she gave a sly, tight-lipped smile "of course, if you haven't guessed the full extent of my powers, I see no reason to explain them." It was probably stupid to tease Shadow with her same words, but since she had previously mentioned that she wouldn't harm Maeg, the nearsighted elf went for the gamble. She was could play by Shadow's rules, too.

Shadow shrugged. "Then you are more powerful then meets the eye, Lady of the Nearsighted ones. To be able to override mine to contact Tiana, to command magic, and some sense of the Force, as well as your Elven Jedi Mid Powers shows great skill indeed." She was lying either-- the Sith was impressed. She stood up and bowed. "For that, if nothing else, I am impressed. As well as the fact that you are an incredible actress..."
Shadow gazed off across the silver seas that was only marred by the orange dot that was Jandalf-- still underwater. She assumed easily that the Jedi had a breather tube, or something. "I'm fairly sure that you have nothing against Tiana, Maeg, otherwise you wouldn't be talking to me here. And, surely, with all your powers, you've guessed our connection, as surely as I guess your deceit."
Her eyes grew distant for a moment. "We're both playing the same game here, aren't we, Maeggaladiel... we're both deceiving the other, and both of us have our own motives. And we're both alone on this ship-- Tiana can't interfer, and Jandalf is too far away, though I feel that she can hear us well enough." She tuned to face Maeggaladiel, her eyes dark. "Can you answer this truthfully, Maeg? Are you afraid?" Shadow smiled-- an irritating smirk that Jandalf had seen many times before, and let her hand drift to her lightsaber. "Or are you confident that your powers can protect you if I decided to attack you?"

Maeggaladiel shifted uncomfortably. Shadow knew all about her ploy to glean information from her; she had been playing along all this time. There really didn't seem a reason to keep the facade up longer than necessary.
She raised her head defiantly and looked at Shadow. The Sith's familiar dark eyes stared coldly back at her. It was quite discomforting, and somehow extremely creepy.
Maeg watched her hand fall to the hilt of her saber. It was a definate gesture; Shadow meant for her to see it. Things were once again getting very out of hand. She supposed it was time to lay all of her cards out on the table, and hope that she could leave with all her body parts in tact.
"All right," she delcared, her voice wavering ever so slightly. "If you really want the truth, then yes. I am scared." She shifted her weight, afraid to look away from Shadow lest the Sith think she was being submissive.
"But I'm certain of one thing; Not only are you and Tiana connected, but you are somehow one and the same person... Perhaps two halfs of the same mind. I don't know the hows or whys, but I think that if Tiana didn't want you to harm me, it might be difficult to for you to do so." Probably not impossible, but difficult.
She was probably just digging her own grave, but adrenaline made her keep talking.
"Kill me if you have to," she said boldly. "But I don't see what it would gain you, other than getting rid of someone who knows a little about you. And I don't know how you Sith feel about fairness in battle, but a sword like mine is little use against a lightsaber, so you'll get little physical resistance if you attack me. However, I must remind you that I am skilled in other areas. My Jedi Elven Mindpowers are not petty psychic's tricks." Phht! So in exchange for killing me, I'll give her the headache and nausea of her life. Yeah, like THAT'S gonna stop her. And I wonder if my magic would be much of an opponent against a Force-weilding being...
SHUT UP, IDIOT! You're laying your head on the chopping block! She winced, but ignored the thought.
Perhaps you should ask Shadow to wait a moment while you call the florist's for an order of white lillies. We'll write on your headstone: HERE LIES MAEGGALADIEL. TALKED HERSELF INTO HER OWN GRAVE. Her Jedi Elven Mindpowers took the moment to add their own snide comments, but Maeg ignored those too. All she could do was continue to stare into those dark, dark brown eyes and wait...

Shadow smiled darkly, grimly, as she met Maeggaladiel's eyes as well. "You did notice it then-- the connection between the two of us. And why. Yes, in a manner, you could say we are two halves of the same person-- a person ripped in half by mere chance. She was able to grow in her powers, however, while I was merely a shadow in another realm, a sundered person." Her expression was distant. "And you are right as well, Tiana is connected to me in the same way-- I couldn't do anything to harm you without risking myself, Maeg."
She removed her lightsaber, stared at it for a moment, and threw it-- it rolled across the floor of the ship to end underneath a table beside Maeggaladiel. Shadow stared at the elf, flames between the two quite strongly-- defiance from Maeg, and something else in Shadow's eyes-- with the Force, it could be translated as fear. "You may be afraid of me, Maeggaladiel, but what your powers fail to realise is that I'm more afraid of you, Jandalf, and Tiana then you'll ever be. I'm Sith, yes, but I'll never be anymore powerful than Tiana with our bond, and she's quite capible of manipulating me in the same manners as I can her."
The Sith sat down suddenly, as her legs refused to support her any longer, and she didn't bother hiding her fear any longer. "You're at least as powerful as me, Maeg-- by me threatening you, you prove something, if nothing else-- you aren't afraid to fight for yourself. If I would've drawn my lightsaber, I may've been able to kill you, if Tiana didn't drop me first, but you would've probably left several lasting scars yourself." She laughed slightly, and darkly. "Like Jandalf and Audreidi... like Lara'li... like Jethine." Her eyes narrowed, and she looked down at the orange dot that was Jandalf STILL underwater. "Like Jethine," she said softly. "But, of course, you aren't Jethine."
She shook herself from the distance, and looked back up at Maeggaladiel. "Let me ask you another thing, Maeggaladiel-- would you kill an unarmed person if they had just threatened you a moment before?" She pointed at her own lightsaber, lying on the floor of the ship. "Would you pick up that lightsaber, and use it, if you thought it could get Tiana back?"
Tiana, in the Shadow Realm, visibly grimaced. She had seen this from Shadow before-- she had faced Shadow several times in the same manner. The young Jedi had to force herself not to attempt to break from the Shadow Realm with words of warning, and darkness. To shout at Maeggaladiel what Shadow was doing.
Agh, she thought, annoyed. I don't know if we're connected enough anymore for Shadow to kill me like such, or the other way around anymore. She wasn't bothering to send her thoughts, but she was sure that Maeg might pick them up. But that wasn't the point-- the elf could handle herself against Shadow if need be now. Shadow was merely trying to test Maeg again-- though afraid the Sith was. Tiana could feel the reality of Shadow's fear biting at her.
She paced around for a moment, and then moved near the edge of the ship and sat down, closing her eyes. Jandalf... Tiana shook her head, and attempted to through her thoughts at the orange Jedi through the Shadow-wall. Master, what are you doing down there?
//Sry bout godmodding. And Maeg, I never meant to kill you, merely test you. The P.G. Faerie would have a fit if I killed you, probaly. But now, let's see what YOU do with this possiblity.//

/Eh, that's ok. I wouldn't have minded if you killed my character, I probably would have found a way to come back to haunt you as an annoying bespectacled ghost or something equally strange! Hee hee./
Maeg looked down at the lightsaber at her feet, and then back to Shadow. Fear was the last emotion she expected to see on the Sith's face, yet there it was, as plain as day. Shadow was afraid.
That fact should have made Maeggaladiel more confident, but it only increased her unease. She wasn't used to people fearing her; a creature who was supposed to have incredibly acute senses of hearing and vision, yet wore glasses for nearsightedness. People usually ridiculed her, or were curious about her, and on certain occasions respected her. But fearing her? That one was new.
She rarely spoke about her powers to anyone as openly and freely as she had to Shadow just now, preferring to keep that information to herself, lest she be viewed as an even bigger freak. Now she could see that it was indeed somewhat disturbing. But did she really LIKE being respected out of fear?
Maeg turned her eyes back to the lightsaber, mulling over Shadow's question. The blue of the sky reflected in the cold metal's shiny surface, almost making it glow. She COULD use it to kill Shadow if she wanted to. Shadow almost seemed to expect her to do it, too.
For some reason, this last thought filled her with anger. She grabbed the lightsaber and held it in front of her, holding it like it was some disgusting dead animal.
"Do you really think I am cold-hearted enough to kill an unarmed being?" she demanded. "I'm not a monster, despite what people think. I never have been and I never will be." Crossly she tossed the silver lightsaber at Shadow, not caring whether she caught it or not.
"Yes, I could have killed you with it, but who am I to decide who deserves life and who deserves death." She frowned, some of the anger leaving her voice.
"Besides," she grunted. "If I kill you, it might kill Tiana too."
So now they were back to square one.

Shadow quirked a grin, a challenge when inside you feel like you're falling apart. "A wise observation, Maeggaladiel. Yes... that's probably why I haven't been killed yet." She smiled, a wry and distant expression. "Killing me would probably, at very least, tear Tiana apart. We're very close, though each other's worst enemies."
The Sith stared at the lightsaber Maeg had thrown, and ducked, just so that it didn't hit her. It clattered to the floor across the ship, but she didn't make any move to fetch it.
"If nothing else," she said, quietly, "then I can say that you are wise, O Lady of the Near-sighted Elves. Your powers allow you to see around this, and that-- you can see that Tiana's in trouble, and that I AM trouble, and yet you spair me. You are wise, and for that I thank you."
Shadow stared at Maeg, and smiled genuinely for a moment. "You have my respect, Maeg, and not just out of fear. Thanks."
It was a very rare moment when the Sith smiled without smirking, or allowed her almost ever-present fear to show on her face, but she had allowed it through just then. It was one of her connections to Tiana, that she was still normal. Still human. The brief confrontation had added to her thoughts on Maeg-- the nearsighted elf was a person to trust. Even if she didn't see it, Shadow knew at that moment, by the way she had reacted, that Maeggaladiel was on her Trusted People list.
There weren't very many people on that list. It had Jandalf, Audreidi, Tiana, and Jethine at the moment. They probably didn't even know it, but Shadow would've trusted those people with her life. Now there was another person she could trust, even if that person didn't trust her back. She smiled distantly. Even if it was only for Tiana that she could trust Maeg.
"But I do wonder whether it was pity that stayed your hand, mercy, grace, or whether you're merely worried about Tiana," Shadow commented, losing the lightsider feel that she had took on a moment past. Once again, Enn drifted away, but it wasn't all in vain. A trust had been built, and maybe that was enough...
//Okay... that sounds almost humorous, you know. But I'm still not going to kill you.//
