A rural peaceful planet mainly consisting of farmers and mandalorians. Also home of a Jedi enclave.

((So, are we there yet? Or are we still in space?))

((we're enroute. it'll be a day or so.))
"No, I'm fine. Thanks."
Echo thought a moment.
"Hey, Sareth, why aren't Jedi allowed to love? I mean, if you're all "Compassion and peace," what's stopping you from love? Besides, with all the Sith reproducing like Gizka, would it be so bad to have a few extra Jedi here and there?"

Sareth hesitated before answering Echo's difficult question. "It is not love that the Jedi are wary of. It is passion, which can lead to the darkside. That is why love is so discouraged." It was something that Sareth had thought about alot since being seperated from her family.

"In my opinion, passion is not what is to be feared. What some people do with thier passion, that I think needs to be feared."
Echo unholstered a blaster and showed it to her.
"Making weapons is one of my passions. What I do with it is how I am judged. For example, I can shoot people with this. Or, I can use it as a defensive weapon and protect people. Think about that before banning emotions."
Echo knew he went a step too far, but he had to make his point.

"Having things you like to do is different than having passions, Echo." Sareth frowned. "And for a Jedi, it is far more imperitive that we remain on the narrow path, not allowing our emotions to dominate us." Echo clearly didn't understand, but then again, not many non-Force users could.

Echo stood from his Chair.
"Listen, your fellings are what makes you human. Without them, you simply become a mindless robot, obeying every command without question. Is that what Jedi are? Robots? Sure, the can fight, but they can't feel, think or love. That is things a Robot cannot do. I guess the Jedi are close relaives."
((For the sake of simplicity, let's cut out carth. My char kinda takes his place as yours does Bastila.))

((Good idea))
Sareth also stood up, her eyes flashing with anger, but her voice came out cold and controlled. "Jedi are not robots, Echo. We are perfectly capable of feeling. We just cannot let our emotions get out of control." As you're doing now, Sareth? She took a deep breath, but was not able to expel all her anger. "Jedi feel compassion, and sometimes we feel love." A memory swept across her face before she could stop it. "And as for being able to think, do you really think that the Jedi could be mindless drones? You speak of concepts you have no grasp of." With that, she swiftly walked out, before her emotions really got the better of her.

((I had this nocie long post ready then my comp crashed sry, this is gonna be short. Bye Carth )) Echo sat down, frustrated. True he did ask for it, talking about Jedi and love in the same sentence is very often disastorus, if not lethal. He'd apologize to Sareth when they land, give her some time to cool off. He came back to the cockpit ten minutes later, upset that he forgot to put a restroom in his ship. A beep brought his eye to the console, showing they were nearing Dantooine. He hit the comm. "Attention. Approching Dantooine, please strap yourslves in, and put the drink trays in an upward position." He loved mimicking those annoying flight attendants.

Echo's mocking voice on the comm grated on Sareth's nerves. The very idea that he had he insinuated that Jedi were mindless drones aggravated her beyond words. How could he say that, after all the Jedi had done for the Republic? She strapped herself in, pushing her emotions beneath the surface, assuming an icy mask of self-control. She would show him.

The ship landed in the small enclave, sweeping dirt and dust away with its retro thrusters. Echo stood and hit the lower ramp button. Then he went to the main hold and awaited the others to plan, and also to apologize.

(( I'd apologize, but Sareth is more snotty than I am. )) With her chin slightly in the air, Sareth walked off the ship. She had to speak with the Jedi council at once, so she brushed past Echo, ignoring him, and made her way down the path. As soon as she passed him, a slight smirk crossed her features, which she quickly discarded. If Belaya saw her... Belaya was another padawan, one very devoted to what she thought a proper Jedi should be. Sareth thought she was a bit stringent.

Before he could say anything, she brushed past him and walked out, chin high. He decided to leave a message on a notepad in the western dormitories where she stayed. It was short and simple.
I didn't mean to tick you off, and I should've known better. I keep forgetting all the Jedi that died to protect the Rebuplic and people like me. I'll try to keep my attitude in check, but no promises.

After Sareth had discussed the delicate situation with the Jedi council, she went to her quarters. She found Echo's note, and looked it over, then looked it over again. Proud fool, she told herself. Here you were being a nerfherder, and he was trying to apologize. Sareth began to realize that she had really letting her emotions get the better of her. Later, she would apologize too, but right now she needed to find Ben and tell him the Council wanted to talk with him.

Echo was in the eastern dormitory, where Mission and Janice were bunking. Mission was sitting, playing pazaak with herself, thinking about Taris being destroyed, and Janice was reading a book, and Echo was simply enjoying their company. He had no intention to go walk amongst Jedi galore, but he felt a slight pull, almost like a pull one feels when the have to relieve themselves.
He stood and loked out the window. It was peacefully quiet outside, but to Echo, quiet ussually meant something was brewing. He had thought about leaving Janice here, where she would be safe, but he wouldn't be able to imagine her awkwardness being a former Sith Trooper aroung Jedi padawans.
A glint of metal caught his eye. the glint sped across the plains, nad he could faintly hear the whirring of its engine.
He excused himself and walked to the main hold. He had to warn Ben that Mandalorians where here before he left.

Echo gave him a sideshot look.
"No. Janice and I are not doing whatever is running in that mind of yours. Besides, it'd be really awkward in front of Mission."
He took a step closer.
"Watch yourself out there. I saw a Mandalorian scout outside the Enclave. Take Canderous with you, he'll help you plan a defensive in case of an attack."

Sareth found Ben talking to Echo and arrived in time to hear his last comment. "Ben, the Jedi Council wants to see you." She wanted to add, 'Chasing a Mandalorian scout can wait,' but she didn't want to escalate the situation like she had last time.

"I'll stay here, keep an eye out for Mandalorians. Don't know what they'd want you for, but it's not my buisness."
Echo didn't want to talk about what he had said earlier for Sareth's sake, she looked like she had enough on her plate, and talking about it in the open would make it very awkward.
"I think you need to use some extra concentration with them old people. They can be very cryptic at times."
He recalled the painful memory of his father being lectured by a Master about his prievous decisions. He shook his head to clear it.
"Good luck."
