Surprisingly I have had very little HW as of late. I find that I am often able to do it either during study halls, between classes, during art, during psych class, or during history. Yeah, I don't do much during the day. In fact, the only classes that I've actually had to think in has been Physics, Pre Calc, and maybe a bit of english. Psychology is a bunch of "crap" as my teacher puts it (he's also the one who touched a brain and calls people cheeseburgers mind you) I so love that class ^.^
I'm the only one in my art class, so I get to listen to soundtracks (Battlestar Galactica, POTC, LOTR, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, etc.) because it turns out that my teach is a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan. Never knew that before. I Never get art HW and there are usually no due dates. I pretty much do what I want and I still get an A. Most of the time I don't even have a teacher in the classroom, but I'm still getting credit for the class lol.
History and Psychology I have the same teacher. He loves tangents and no matter how bad a mood I'm in I still laugh during that class. That class involves a lot of people gettingup in the middle of one of my teacher's insane tangents about someone being a moron and walking aimlessly around the classroom. We are also able to get up in the middle of class to use his computer. His quizzes are insane and most of the time he makes up crazy tests about the color of his tie on Tuesday and who wrote the most recent love letter left on his desk that morning. A majority of the time they are only given to waste time. One time he even started an entire conversation on Facism to waste time so that he could download the "jeopardy" theme song to play when we didn't know the answer to a question. I LOVE these classes and lucky me they are right in a row at the end of the day.
English is made up of an occasional essay, talk about college, and other random conversations, sometimes about the book we are reading, most times not. The only thing I fear in this class is term paper time.
Physics and Math are hard. I'll leave it at that.
Gym...ugh.
Study hall when I don't have science lab = computer time
I love lunch. I love my scedule for the most part. All my annoying classes are in the morning. The best ones are at the end of the day.

Heh - I only have one more week then I have a week's holiday. Can't wait.
I stupidly decided to go back to the same school that I have been at for the last five years and to take my A levels there when I could have gone somewhere else - I keep asking myself WHY? But I guess I should be pleased that I'm only taking five subjects now... But I have six lessons a week for four of them and two lessons a week for the other.
Maths is awful: one teacher is a mouse with no control over the class so everybody talks all the time and nobody can learn anything, the other teacher is an evil moron who enjoys spending most of our lessons telling us that we're all so stupid that we're going to fail.
Physics is better: One teacher is really good and interesting, the other is a wimp but he knows what he is talking about. I love the subject though, it's one of my favourites - and we don't get too much homework!
Chemistry is the best: Two brilliant teachers, not too much homework (only a couple of hours a week) and the subject is great. Plus we got to blow up jellybabies, which was great because they exploding massively.
English Literature just is.
General Studies: I can't actually remember what we did this week. Only two lessons in a week though, so that's good.
So yeah, school is annoying but... blah. It'll go away soon: I take my AS levels this year, my A levels next and then I'm off to university as long as I get in. It's crazy being a sixth former now though because we don't have to wear uniform, we get our own common room, kitchen and computer rooms and some of the teachers let us call them by their first names.

Ah, well, its not a boarding school, but meh.
We go to primary school from reception through to year six - 5yrs old to 11 yrs old - then on to secondary school from year seven to year eleven - 11 yrs old to 16 yrs old. Then things get complicated: we can either leave school to get a job, or else stay in full or part time education to do A levels or vocational courses. Some schools have a sixth form - year eleven and year twelve, 16 yrs old to 18 yrs old - and I stayed on at the sixth form at the grammar school which I've been in since year seven. Also, you could go to a college to do A levels, voc. courses etc. After that is university.
How do American schools work? I know there are differences...

We have a preschool, which usually starts at age 3 or 4. Parents don't have to enroll their kids in preschool, but it's a good start. After preschool comes Kindergarten. These are the very FIRST years of schooling that we would have. After kindergarten start the number grades...or elementary school. Elementary school is from around first grade to fifth grade. You are probably around 11 or twelve when you enter sixth grade. This is middle school, from 6th to 8th grade. It's either called middle school or junior high school. After 8th grade we go to high school for four years. We are usually around 18 when we graduate from that school. Then we can either get a job that doesn't require college, or we can go to college and get a variety of degrees. I'm looking at a veterinary career, which could mean up to 8 years of medical schooling. Usually people go to college for four years.
We don't stay at our schools though. Usually we take a bus there in the morning and then we take a bus home. We stay in school from the beginning of September to the end of May or the middle of june.
It's interesting to learn about other schools in different countries!

It is interesting indeed! We have school from the beginning of September to the middle of July, plus two weeks of holiday at Christas and Easter and a week in the middle of each of the three terms, and the days are around 08:50 through to 15:45 on average. Some people get to school by car or by walking (like me) but most people travel by bus.

Some schools in the US are also year - round. My mom teaches at one, actually. You go to school for about two to three months, then you get one off. I went to a school like that for one year, and I enjoyed it because while traditional schools are in session, we would be off.

Well, my next break, will be a four day weekend next week.. I guess it will be fun.. School is going great so far. The marking period ends next week. School is flying by so fast. I mean, it is already the end of October! When I was younger school went by slowly and I never thought I would be able to make it to the point where I am today. My dreams and goals after high school are becoming so close..

For me, I'm only just getting used to my new timetable. Switching from medicine to Classics at university meant some class changes - so I have FINALLY dropped Biology (YEEEESSS!!!) and am studying English instead.
First of all I had Chemistry, where our teacher spent most of lesson seeing what his electronic whiteboard could do while we shouted out suggestions. Then I had Latin, which was great because we spent most of it discussing me going to uni (I'm the only one in the class) and then discussing the new TV series 'Rome' that's coming out, and the hot young men in it. Then I had a double study period so I went and finished an English essay, and then wasted time on the internet.
After lunch, I had English, where for the first two lessons on poetry I spent most of making notes in my margin about how Larkin is a miserable old git who probably saw his own puppy being run over when he was a child, and the last lesson trying to distract the teacher from actually teaching us anything by asking about her favourite topics - Classics, sex and violence.
And then came home and struggled through some Maths homework (how I managed to get an A last year is beyond me) while watching Star Wars...

Our whole month of november is pretty chopped up. Next week we have two days off, plus I won't be in school on Monday because of a stupid doctor's appointment. Then the next week I get off wednesday because I have this leadership conference thingy that runs all day. I'm pretty sure we have a few days off that week too. Then the week after that is Thanksgiving and we have a half day wednesday and then off thursday and friday.
WooHoo! Days off! *does a dance*

Yea, so we will see.. I am going over to that side of the family's for Thanksgiving... What is really weird though, is that my great-uncle died 4 days before the 3rd anniversary of his wife's death.. My family is weird I tell you! I love having no school today! It is the best! I just have to remember to get all my homework done.. That should be fun!
