(laughs) So much for canon, eh, Eowyn? You did consent. Lania and Obi-Wan. (carries on laughing for no apparent reason)

Well, I don't know why I did it.
* * * * A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
The galaxy is in turmoil, the hints of change and shadows distant in the minds of the Jedi, a glimmer of a touch in the backs of their minds. War has not yet come, but to the eyes of those who look for it, it seems to be not as far off as hoped.
And not all who look to the future would oppose the chaos and decimation of all that is good within the Republic either.
Change one happening, and the entire galaxy could fall, whether into light to be swallowed whole by an all-revealing brilliance, or into shadows, and hopelessness that masks all other emotions. In the darkest corners of the galaxy, an ancient order is reawoken, the same desire burning in their hearts-- to decimate the Jedi Order, and control the galaxy through fear. Once it had stood clearly, only two there are, but now the Sith have arose from the shadows to take up their crimson blades and match darkness against the blood of their old enemy-- the light.
Within the corners and crevices of scum and villany, bounty hunters and mercenaries, smugglers and lawless sentients continue their quest to prove that crime does, indeed pay: for why would there be so many criminals if it did not? The Republic's army has taken the quest to restore peace, the job once only for those Masters and Knights and Padawans who wielded the knowledge of what was good in the galaxy.
But now that is no longer.
Now the Separatist armies have taken up against the Republic, driving them into the very heart of a battle that could forever change the lives of those in the galaxy, sending metal minded battle droids into the heat of a fight for-- or so they thought-- peace. The Jedi rise to take their lightsabers and knowledge of a power mystical to so many, and slowly bantered back. No longer the glorious defenders of peace and justice in the galaxy, but sentients so much like the rest of the worlds around them... fallen to emotions and everything they fought to protect themselves from: their very beings.
The Order has began to crumble, and taking with it everything the good galaxy holds dear: peace.
Now the Sith begin to rise, taking unsuspecting and stretched thin Jedi down slowly, turning everything they hold dear against them. Now a struggle between Light and Dark has began, and not just in the battle between clones and droids, men and aliens. Now is has been drove deeper into the heart of the galaxy than before, drilling right into the hearts of those around us.
Take up your sword, whether for good or for evil. Raise a blade, a blaster, wind the power of the Force within your hands, and join the battle for the galaxy-- or fall to your own desires within. Jedi to love, to passion, to everything they cut themselves from. Those who had thought themselves lost to light and grace that cannot be understood. The criminals to justice, to desires for peace.
And within the very heart of it all, a want to see an end to the fighting, whether mental or the battle without that will leave your blood shed to stain the walls of a galaxy for eternity.
Take up your sword, or lose yourself in the process-- if you haven't already.
* * * *
Now someone should probably write the differences in canon out, if there's any more than the obvious.

OK, so we go back to Tatooine and get thwarted by bad guys? Sounds good to me! Problem solved... now, if I can remember to get over there when I have more time, I'll continue our mission!

Ooh, that text crawl type-thing's written well... Is this, or can this be, the timeframe that Nejaa Halcyon dies? If you read I, Jedi he's in that. I could use his death for a plot point.

Schweet. That should work quite nicely, thanks, Shadow!
And if either you or Echo could tip me a nod here when the time comes that you need Obi-Wan to jump back into the storyline...I'd appreciate that.
EDIT: Something just came back to me. If we're setting the new RPG to begin after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and wars are over, the New Republic technically no longer exists...it's the Galactic Federation of Alliances. Or did someone already correct that?

Ooh, New Republic...or GFFA...must check that out. I've been floating around seeming to miss plots for a while, and have been waiting for something to go on on Coruscant. Anyone have a suggestion for a plot i can either jump into or create? Or maybe I can attack the Jedi...fun...

Jandalf, i would suggest that you make Obi-Wan an alias and start posting with him in the Jedi Temple. Maybe talk with Muad'dib in character so that we have an idea of where he is. Once Elachi and I are off of Myrkr I'd like to have you have him posting so that we can have the startled reunion.
I'd love to help you two, but I'm stuck on Myrkr for a bit.

Does anybody want to post in the Sith Hideout thread? Or is it uninhabited?

Stang. Perhaps I'll just start posting without using an alias. They're a pain. Mostly because I'd keep forgetting to log into a different account. But yes, I'll begin posting Obi-Wan in the Temple thread, then, and we'll see what happens.

Quick question... Does anyone know if Bespin was a member of the Old Republic?

I don't think so, it was a mining venture. The Empire took control of it after the Galactic Civil War, but I have no idea whether it was apart of the Old Republic.

Yeah, I can't figure it out either. I know that it was pretty much independent during the Galactic Civil War until the encounter in ESB. However, Cloud City was around long before that time, so I don't know if it actually belonged to the Republic at some point or if it's always been independent.

Well, it is a mining facility, so it probably independant....

Well, that's what I thought at first, but Cloud City isn't just a mining facility. It's a popular tourist location as well with hotels and casinos... It has tons of residential areas for regular people looking to escape from the more crowded urban planets. Plus it has its own three-branch government system and everything. Gah. Why does everything in Star Wars have to be so complicated?
