Jend grinned, though it was invisible behind the veil and never reached her eyes. She brought her staff around in front of her, her hands alread in position on the smooth wood, and set her feet. To any other person, her limp would have been a hinderance, but she had embraced it and learned to turn it to her favor. Her thoughts scrolled through attacks and defences, measured up what she knew about her opponent -- which, as for fighting style and choices, wasn't a whole lot -- and, in seconds, had chosen a mode of action.
Her stance was relaxed, staff held slightly out in front of her, elbows bent and at an easy angle from her shoulders. One knee bent slightly, the other at a gentle angle, she sprang into action. She brought the staff around at a sharp angle, then switched directions and came from below, rapidly attempting to come up under her Master's raised pole and past her defenses.

Taania smiled. She liked Jendana's fighting style, though it was a bit more offensive than most Jedi. She closed her eyes, and felt the Force flowing around her for a moment, anticipating the attack, and countering it smoothly.
She spun back, the slight grin still on her face.

Instead of pausing and thinking through her next attack, Jend sprang immediately back into another whirl, bringing the staff around under the raised end of Taania's, then the other end up around over it (well, it's a short staff, all right?), not thinking, just reacting, exactly as she had spared with Thy for years before this moment.

Taania flicked her wrist around, sending her pole into a whirl around Jendana's, knocking the shorter staff back into her Padawan's ribcage, and sending the younger girl falling backwards for a moment.
The Jedi Knight's only real thought at the moment was that she hoped she wouldn't hurt Jendana in this practice run.

Well, maybe not exactly like sparing with Thy...
Jend inhaled with the blow, minimizing the contact as much as possible. She lost her footing for a moment, and barely kept herself from landing flat on her back. She shook her head a little, expelling the pain with one breath, then went back in -- staff whirling back into Taania's with only a little less force than before.

She's weakening, the Force whispered in her mind. It wasn't words she heard, but the sense was there as clearly as the staff in her hand.
The contact with Jend's staff was with less force, but it still stung her hand for a moment. Taania snapped her pole around-- Jend's staff passed through empty air where a moment ago her arm would've been-- and decided it was time to start pulling her weight a bit more.
After all, not everyone is a fair fighter.
She released one hand's grasp on the pole, leaving her with a one handed defence, and levitated a few small rocks up into the air.

A small ship resembling an X-Wing appeared in the sky above Corellia's hangar. It flew to an empty platform and landed. Just as the ship landed, the cockpit slid open and a young, slender woman with dark curly hair came out. She stood in front of the ship for a moment, studying the familiar layout of the hangar. She walked forward.
The young woman wore a dark green tunic with beige pants. In her right hand a double-bladed vibrosword glinted in the dusky sunlight. Her purple-streaked hair floated lightly as she advanced, looking for someone to ask where the cantina was.

Well, that's not quite fair.... Jend shifted her feet slightly, keeping Taania's rocks -- along with the Jedi Master -- within her line of sight. Then again, life's not exactly fair, either.
Jendana thought of immitating the Jedi's move, then thought beter of it. Her levitating abilities weren't exactly.... up to the challenge quite yet. Instead, she steadied herself again, raising the staff with a steady shrug.
"All right, then."

((OOC: Our characters are crashed way out in the middle of nowhere, so you'll not be able to find us. Besides, we have to be captured by the Sith. Mutter. When they reach Corellia, you'll be able to talk to them, Kellgirl.
You've given me a Mastery, Padawan? *confused grin* I was a Knight, actually... but that's all right.))
Taania smiled faintly. "Life's not fair, is it, Padawan?" she asked, calmly, keeping one hand up enough to move the rocks, other hand with a light grip on her lightsaber.
The difference now was that her defence was a bit more lowered, and it wouldn't be as hard to disarm her. But the Jedi Knight wasn't about to let on to that fact yet. She switched to offence quickly, taking the un-Jedi initiative in the hopes to see how far she could push Jend with a quicker attack.

((Pbbbtthh. I'm not all-knowing! Nor very observant, apparently...
Heh, lightsaber, Master? I thought Taania had a metal stick....))
Jend let the Jedi Knight come at her, bringing her staff up quickly to ward off the attacks. She put a little more energy into it, pushing her own attacks when she could. Which was, in fact, not very often.
She felt her left foot sliding a little at one point, and let her body slide with it, bringing her staff up sharply as she lowered herself to a quick controled slide. The staff cut up near her Master, and she brought it sharply around towards the other woman's middle.

((Uhh... *looks at post* OOPS. I was tired, okay?! I need to stop posting at... late times. I think that was late. Dunno anymore...
I'm not all knowing either. Maybe I got a Mastery and didn't even realize it, Padawan.))
Taania dropped her staff to her side in what would have been a relaxed position had she not been in the midst of combat, flicking it up to both deflect Jendana's staff, and push the staff back towards the younger girl.
The Jedi Knight's fighting style when deeper within the Force tended to be a bit more offensive than most Jedi preferred-- but she thought of it simply-- you're not going to get anywhere defending yourself when your opponint is trying to kill you, and actually trying.
Jendana wasn't trying to kill her, but it was still habit to fall into attack vs defence.
"Try to find a weakness," she said calmly, controling her voice. "You can't defeat your enemy without knowing his or her weaknesses."

Weakness...
Jend paused for a moment, calculating her Master's former movements, the flow of her body, and her style. She re-ran these pictures through her mind, reviewing and formulating.
The older woman was carefully balancing the staff in one hand, and controlling the levitated rocks with the other. The Corellian, figured that she could use that against the more experienced fighter, try to catch her off balance.
Her staff came up again, more confidently this time, and swung quickly into Taania's, poised at an angle to throw off her equilibrium, and hopefully give Jend the opening that she was looking for.

((yes-- because there's no way we can talk to anyone while fighting!))
It did throw her off just enough to knock Taania back a step. The older Jedi caught her backstep a moment later, slipping from the moment of more attuned control. She let two of the rocks drop, moving her other hand back to her staff to a twohanded grip. The other rock she kept levitated with a careful control without the aid of a guiding hand.
Calcuatating her Padawan's movements silently, Taania assumed that there was little way that she could get out of this keeping a Jedi's attack. Nevertheless, she kept her face straight as she attempted a quick recovery, twisting her pole forwards in an attempt to disarm Jendana.

Jend pulled her staff around, keeping it close to her body, and firmly in her hands. Her feet skipped backwards a couple seconds, giving herself a little room to move, then brought her staff back up into Taania's, hoping that her quickness would block out her earlier missteps.

Taania parried the attack, throwing the staff off to the side, and shifted her grasp on her pole into the middle, changing her balance slightly to give herself better defence.

The A-Wing fighter sliced through the atmosphere of the planet. Annix looked around his controls for signs of cities nearby. Then he saw the city, but his fighter jolted, shook, and dropped from the sky, heading nose-first for the ground. Annix fought for control, but he couldn't gain control on skill alone. He closed his eyes, focosing on his fear of the ensuing crash, his anger at his loss of memory, the hate at his faulty ship. a sudden wave of dark side thrust out of the ship at the last moment, causing his shipto flip once, landing on where his landing gear should be, but weren't out. Annix climbed out of the cockpit and looked around for some sign of life out here on the outskirts of the city.

Kayla Jola wore a dark green tunic with beige pants, and in her right hand a double-bladed vibrosword glinted in the dusky sunlight. Her purple-streaked hair floated lightly on the soft breeze as she advanced.
She saw the A-Wing fall near the outskirts and wondered if anyone was hurt. Probably not, it didn't look like a horrible crash.

Annix climbed down off his ship. Then he sensed raw, wild hatred. He used it to fuel his own force powers. Then he felt another, and another, finally a fourth and fifth. He fingered the smooth metal cylinders on his side. Then, a massive beast lept at him, he easily side-stepped it. It charged again, this time he flicked on both lightsabers, but he did not turn on the bottom blade of the double bladed one.He flicked his wrists up, knocking the beast to the ground, he noticed in this split second he had to measure up his enemy, it was a sand panther. He raised both lightsabers above his head, and brought them both down, plunging them into the beast's chest, killing it instantly. He had no time to celebrate his kill, for another lept at him, and a third. he ignited his upper blade and brought the double bladed one in a complete circle, tearing into the beast, causing it to drop dead instantly. At the same time he brought the inverted one up to meet the panther on the other side, killing that one as well. He turned them both off, waiting for the fourth, he sensed it's anger. When it lept, he was ready, thrusting it forward, sending a burst of energy at the panther, torching it.
