You asked and you've got it...another thread. I like 3rd Day (saw them in concert at Autumn Blaze!!), Reliant K, Newsboys, and Avalon. Avalon's remix CD rocks...i listen while playing video games. and writing. and most of the time.

Excellent, Shieldzup!
I like The Elms, Skillet, Barlowgirl, Superchic(k), a new band called Everlife, FM Static, Relient K, and Plumb. I am sure there's more, but I can't think of them all right now... am too tired.

Ohh, ever heard of Tree 63? There are only three guys in the band, but their music is incredible, if a little weird.

They played at my high school youth group once! And they were at Summerfest... I like their song "Blessed be Your Name", but that one song "Answer to the question" kind of grossed me out ("he is the cure for the infection" ). The keep playing "Blessed be Your Name" at youth group. It's good, but I hate it when they play songs to death!

I have heard of all those bands. And out of the ones that I have heard, except Relient K, all sound good. But you all must think of higher things such as the O.C. Supertones, and Five Iron Frenzy.

*snickers* Here be full lyrics to He's My Son, by Mark Schultz. Yeah, I have heard the song... like it too. *mutters about search engines*
I'm down on my knees again tonight I'm hoping this prayer will turn out right See there is a boy that needs your help I've done all that I can do myself His mother is tired I'm sure you can understand Each night as he sleeps She goes in to hold his hand And she tries not to cry As the tears fill her eyes
Chorus~ Can you hear me? Am I getting through tonight? Can you see him? Can you make him feel all right? If you can hear me Let me take his place somehow See, he's not just anyone He's my son
Sometimes late at night I watch him sleep I dream of the boy he'd like to be I try to be strong and see him through But God who he needs right now is You Let him grow old Live life without this fear What would I be Living without him here He's so tired and he's scared Let him know that You're there
Chorus
Can you hear me? Am I getting through tonight? Can you see him? Can you make him feel all right? If you can hear me Let me take his place somehow See he's not just anyone He's my son
Can you hear me? Can you see him? Please don't leave him He's my son
Know is, anyone?

But you all must think of higher things such as the O.C. Supertones, and Five Iron Frenzy. The O.C. Supertones are going to be at my church next week, along with John Reuben. Tree 63 was there last week, and tomorrow it's going to be the Rock and Roll Worship Circus. Is the Worship circus good, anyone know? I have never heard them before and am just curious. I really don't feel like waiting in line for an extended period of time in this heat if they aren't. Actually, the line may not be too long because the majority of youth group is at camp... Could have gone, but I thought we were camping... my parents changed their minds at the last minute, so now i ma stuck at home, slightly bored out of my mind with no one to talk too...

Yeah, I've heard "He's my Son". It's touching, isn't it?
Ooooh, John Reuben. And of course Five Iron Frenzy, and I like SOME of O.C. Supertones' songs. One of them starts something like:
Just like Leia's father We'll strike back harder
Yeah, you know. That's all it took. Snrk.
And TFK, and some of Kutless, and Tobymac, and someone here MUST have heard of Pillar! They're awesome! And P.O.D., and PAX217, and Skillet, and Third Day. Some of the Newsboys' stuff is all right. Usually I go for the more heavy metal stuff, so I don't really like Avalon that much, and Superchic[k] starts to annoy me after a while. But...yeah. Those are merely my own preferences.

i like some O.C Supertones songs, too, but prefer harder rock. TFK is awesome, so is Falling Up, Skillet, and Pillar is cool too! Tobymac is the only rapper I will listen too! He is really cool. Superchick is good, but yes, they can get annoying after a while. But they have a really good message for girls, just like BarlowGirl.

Ai! I think we've discovered a point of disagreeance! *Faints*
No, I really, really, really, really, REALLY do not like the very rocky stuff. I'll take Avalon, Sonic Flood, Westlife (not Christian, but they have some great Christian songs...), and Mark Schultz. Not to mention WOW Worship *carries on mentioning not exactly rocky bands* Oh! And Such as These, which NO ONE here will've heard of but Darth Aragorn and Adrienne... because it's our church's band... snicker. Newsboys are all right-- Seven Places is fine, as long as they're not in person... that was LOUD... meh. Pillers of Clay isn't bad... wow, I cannot believe I can actually think of this many band names! I'll go for song NAMES!!!!!! *loves Here I am to Worship, and many other songs of the like... yes, I like nice, quiet, soft songs with a message that can be understood...*

I love, love, LOVE worship!!! Last night at church I was nearly in tears because we had communion and we sang the sweetest worship songs EVER!!! I don't know the song titles, but we sang one that the chorus went:
And He loves me He loves me I can really say I know And I love Him I love Him I want to let the whole world know
I was nearly crying at that one. We also sing "Here I am to Worship", one of my favorites, "Holy Fire", "Prince of Peace", "I Surrender" and so many more that I love so much! It was really amazing and so touching.
I don't know if you have heard of a group called Everlife, Eowyn, but you very well might like them! They aren't rocky at all and have the nicest songs. I love the last one because the message really hit home with me. The chorus goes:
When you cry Cause it hurts It doesn't mean that you're not heard Because aloud in heaven angels cry with you
I don't know if they released in Canada or not, though you could probably hear them over the internet if you are really interested.

I knew the Supertones like Star Wars, I knew it!! I saw them in concert, and they had t-shirts with like the SW emblem but it said supertones, and "may the tones be with you" or something like. anyway..thanks for the lyrics..never did hear that one. i just got the Newsboys "shine" CD..love it...

Oh, "Shine"? I have "Going Public"...it's from '94 or something...snrk. Old.
YAY!! THE SUPERTONES LIKE STAR WARS!!! Heehee.
And yes, Padawan, that would be a definite disagreement then...erk. I never thought we'd run into one.
Uh...has anyone ever heard of a techno/electronica Christian band? I've been looking, and I can't find any, which surprises me because ELECTRONICA IS AMAZING...

Ah, there is no reason to make the music thing into an arguement. I don't like heavy rocky music-- there's nothing wrong with you liking it. And there's little reason that we'll ever have to listen to each other's music... snicker. Unless, of course, I CAN get you to YQ this year... and I will. I always find a way.
But that's all right-- it doesn't matter if you find my personal preference in music annoying-- and I find yours reason to pull out earplugs. Well, actually I will listen to it... when it's at a moderate volume. *hates LOUD music* Meh. I don't think music that you can't understand the words because the beat overwhelms it a way you can bring a person to Christ, and that is the point to Christian rock-type music. Once again though, it's merely a personal choice there, and I'm not going to make it into an arguement.
Sorry-- have not heard of any techno Christian bands. That'd be cool... I like that style of music. I found an interesting Star Wars techno-remix thing once though... heh. IT HAD OBI-WAN IN IT!!!!! *rolls eyes*
I've heard of the CD "Shine", but I don't buy CDs... snicker. I have 3-- one of which is the LotR soundtrack. The other two were my sister's choices as gifts for me. Heh. I've heard the CD though-- it's pretty good. The Newboys aren't a bad group.
*is still in shock that we ran into a disagreement* Oh well... it proves we aren't clones!!!! FINALLY!!!!

We're not clones! yeah! yeah i agree with eowyn..in choice of musica and views on argueing. i know Avalon did a remix CD that sounds very techno/trance-ish...has anyone else heard of trance? some of my friends like it and it just sounds like techno-rock to me and i have never heard that name before.
