Napoleon Dynamite is about this guy who is a total nerd living in Idaho with his grandma and thirty (or so) year old brother. His grandma gets in a quad accident and their unle Rico comes to live with them. It doesn't have much of a plot. It's more like spending some time in someone else's life and it is HILARIOUS because it's weird. I laugh just looking at Napoleon. He says the funniest things. You would have to see it to understand because I am having a hard time explaining it. It's out on video...

Yeah, ditto that, Wariuos... we never have many people at our youth group... it's best when it's just Adrienne and I... heh...

Napolean Dynamite is truely unusual...its so..random. And plotless. And when you watch it at two in the morning at a lock in, it must be wierder than usual... I don't know if you'd say my yg has a 'fan base' but us Star Wars people (like me and two or three friends) are so loud about it the other like fifteen people pick up on it from us.

Gaw! Flippin' IDIOT!
Jeez, there's this church near me that is obssesed with it! That's like everyone's fave movie there! I have a good deal of friends there, that's why I know.
In my youth group, there's a boy who is obsessed with LOTR, and a youth intern, but that's it. They're both guys, so not much of a chance there. Our youth group is kind of weird like that... but we're working on it.

"Do the chickens have long talons?" Napoleon ROX!
Anyway, your youth groups seem kind of fun. I went to CCd (Or sunday School) for almost twelve years and I hated it more then anything. ALl the people were really nasty (and this is in two separate churches) and no one ever payed attention. It was never any fun at all to go.
Perhaps if Sunday School had been more fun, I would be more into the Christian religion, but I guess these bad experiences just multiplied the experiences I have now.
Anyway, I'm happy you guys have good youth groups. I've never actually been to a "youth group" before, so I don't actually know what really happens. I've only heard friends talk about them.

Bah. I actually know the feeling. I used to dispise Sunday School... it wasn't til I went to YQ that I really got into the whole youth group for any more than seeing friends thing. YQ was a youth confrence thing with concerts... loud... fun... yeah.
You should find a youth group to go to though. You don't have to be a Christian. We have several unChristians who come to ours once in the while, to run around and otherwise be strange.

Ah...strange is good.
I almost went to Sheildzup's once. I'm just so busy though. Between two 4-H clubs, taking care of the farm, school work, and two jobs, it gets so hard. I don't even think any of the churches in the immediate area have Youth Groups. They are all about a half hour away and if our church does, I hate them so I probably wouldn't go. lol. Our priest is so stupid. Ugh...strange too, and I don't mean the fun strange, this guy is weird. hehe
Anyway, tis getting late and I must finish me work.

Yeah, my youth group used to suck. I nearly killed myself cause some of the people were so horrible. If my family hadn't been such great examples of true Christians, I would have ended up becoming a complete anti-religeon person. But I hung on somehow and now we have a great youth leader who really has made a difference. Those people who are legalistic and horrible aren't true Christians... well, they are, but tey aren't like Christians are supposed to be.

Napoleon Dynamite is.. strange to say the least. My youth group was a major disappointment. They didn't seem to really care about reading the Bible.

Hmmm...that is disappointing. You can get together with me, Jareth! ; )
Since there are only *counting* seven people in the church I attend who could really be considered "youth", we don't exactly have a group. One awesome couple makes a point of getting us together for fun, though. Each of them can put together an awesome devotional that really gets everyone interested and thinking...(I love that). And they each have a different perspective since it's one man and one woman... It's cool that they make the effort for us, even though there's no real organized group... : D

our church has (grr, I'm bad at estimating) 200 'youths' or more... it's very big, we probably have more than that...

One Friday we cancelled youth group 'cuz not enough people could come, so Tiana and I had a make-shift youth group and watched Napoleon Dynamite. Erk... It was... Odd, to say the least. *rolls eyes* No plot... I liked it when Napoleon fell off the fence though. *grins evilly*

"Tina! Come get some ham!"
(cackles madly)
Yup...our church is still so small, we hardly have that many. Even though I'm out of the youth group scene, though, we're finally getting a couple in for youth leaders (YES!!!!!!!!!!), and they're fantastic, so I hope my bro and others will have a far better experience than I did...

Our church has a youth group, I'm too old to go, but I never went anyway. Pretty much all we did was each crack a can of coke open and play twister (which I am horrible at).

I pulled out of high shcool youth group to to Junior High counseling on Wednesday nights. But I loved it while I was there and still go to what is considered a youth night on Sundays with all my friends! But I kinda lost interest after Napoleon Dynamite took over our winter camp. And also, even though I'm high school age, I go to a junior college so I didn't really feel like I fit anymore. Besides, God was pulling my heart in the direction of being more involved with the junior high youth group.
I actually feel like watching Napoleon Dynamite right now... And I SO lvoe it when he falls off the fence! And his dance is hilarious!
