This is a little/big overview of the New Jedi Order and resultant events for those who require it, who wish to be in the NR RPG.
About twenty-five years after the destruction of the Death Star in ANH the galaxy is a generally peaceful place. Luke Skywalker has established a new Jedi temple or academy on Yavin 4. Leia Organa Solo and Han Solo work with and for the diplomats of the New Republic and Chief of State Borsk Fey’lya, while their children Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin attend the Jedi academy.
Enter the Yuuzhan Vong. The far-Rim planet of Belkadan discovers an extra-galactic group of ships heading toward them, and when the Solo Jedi reach the scene the Belkadan station is under siege and the planet slowly being taken over by mysterious life-forms able to eradicate and replace all native species and galactic technology.
The Yuuzhan Vong are a race of aliens from beyond the galactic Rim. They have pointed ears, flat faces with low brows and only the pits of the nose, gray-black or pale tan skin and an intense xenophobia and desire to subjugate the species of the known galaxy. Their religion states that the god Yun-Yuuzhan sacrificed parts of himself to create the universe, the Yuuzhan Vong and the lesser gods; therefor the higher in rank and devotion a Yuuzhan Vong is the more tattoos, scars or ritual disfigurements he has (in imitation of the god) and to call him simply “Vong” is a grave insult denying his connection to the gods and punishable by death by combat.
After Belkadan, the invaders begin a steady takeover of planets in a push toward the Core. Their technology is completely biological; their weapons, starships and everyday items are living creatures. Both the Jedi and the space navy of the Republic had to find ways to combat them. The temple at Yavin 4 was destroyed–Jedi and the Force are completely unknown to the Yuuzhan Vong. Tahiri Veila, one of Anakin Solo’s best friends, was captured during this attack and implanted with the personality of a Yuuzhan Vong shaper. This, and Anakin’s later death, made Tahiri infamous on both sides of the war and helped to start a rebel sect of pro-Jedi Yuuzhan Vong, led by corrupt Nom Anor. More planets were ravaged, Jedi students hidden on a mobile space station, and an expedition including Luke Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Saba Sebatyne and an Imperial Remnant Star Destroyer was sent out into the Unknown Regions seeking Zonama Sekot, the living planet said by Jacen’s former teacher Vergere to be the key to ending the war. Out in the galaxy Coruscant had been taken over by the Yuuzhan Vong and Borsk Fey’lya killed, and the new Galactic Federation of Free Alliances was based on Mon Calamari with Cal Omas as Chief of State. HoloNet communication was cut down and the Yuuzhan Vong continued to hunt the Jedi.
Y. Vong shaper Nen Yim, high ranking priest Harrar and the false prophet/Jedi supporter Nom Anor discovered the existence of Zonama Sekot and traveled there with Jedi Tahiri and Corran Horn in a Sekotan ship. (Sekotan technology was a rare privilege in the Old Republic and combines mechanics and Vong-type bioforming). The finale of the war came with the meeting of the Jedi and the Yuuzhan Vong on Zonama Sekot and a GFFA attack on failing Yuuzhan’tar, the former Coruscant, that was being remade into the image of the legendary Yuuzhan Vong home orld. While peace is being spoken about on Zonama a Yuuzhan Vong fleet seeks to attack them. With the help of Sekot’s intelligence and an alliance of Jedi, Sekot’s living ships and Yuuzhan Vong the enemy fleets are defeated, and the Yuuzhan Vong’s leadership destroyed. It is discovered that Zonama Sekot was a relative, perhaps the child, of the living, Force-sensitive home world that stole away the Y. Vong’s connection to the living Force. Thus begins US...
