Shayla fell back onto the hard black floor. She gasped for breath, grimacing up at her master. she deactivated her lightsaber. she summoned what little energy she had,"Master.." she said, her jaw clenched, her hand clutching her shoulder. "I am ready...."

"To what? Beg for mercy?" Xyko knelt down so she was eye to eye with Shayla and lowered her voice to almost a whisper. "You are not ready. You are neither emotionally or physically ready to be a sith. In our little battle, you did not strike in earnest until I did. I have been watching you." Her voice now held disgust. "You cannot show your enemies mercy, or compassion. If you do, that just leaves you one more person to watch out for." Xyko got up sighing, she wondered if her apprentice would now understand. "Go and dress your arm. We're going off planet to get you a better one." With that, she summoned her cloak using the force and put it on, walking to her rooms.

Shayla lifted herself off the ground. so that was the point of this... she doesn't want mercy, I will show no mercy, I will show her how wrong she is about me She walked slowly out of the chamber, her shoulder was screaming. Once in her room, she summoned a bottle of savve using the force, and gently spread it over what was left of her arm. She grabbed a blue towel off the counter and wrapped it tenderly over it, she sighed, and walked out of the room for her master's chambers.

Thrait gaped, snarled, and controlled himself. The dust settled around his feet. Chances slipping away like prey in the falling of dusk! "Punishment it is then. Teach me what I don't know, Sith! I came to you with the same humility you thnk you instilled in me with this fight! Who's controlled by emotion now?" Indeed, the battle tremor was fading. It had been unstoppable for a time. Admirable, that the human did not save his blood.

"Teach you!?" Sallazar laughed as if Thrait had told a joke. "More like punish myself with dead weight."
He smiled darkly. His lightsaber still active. "What would you do for me to train you?" He asked. "I am certainly not going to burdan myself with another for free am I?"

In her rooms, Xyko thought about how her apprentice would react once the shock of losing her arm faded. With anger, most definitely. With violence, that was yet to be seen. She packed a few things and changed clothes, and sat down, meditating while waiting for Shayla to come.

Thrait growled. "What do you want me to do? In a moment all I will do is leave you and find some other, more wiser Sith."

Sallazar smiled faintly, this one would pay for that. "I see." He replied, a note of amusement in his voice. "Would a 'wiser' sith take on such an unexperienced creature? If anything most sith would take a apprentice that had no training in the force, as to mold them the way they wanted to."
He gave a short cruel laugh. "Your not thinking things through, give things some thought." He spun around and used the force to slam Thrait to the ground. "And what I want you to do is to possibly show some respect to he who bested you so easily in battle. I want you to come with me, until I find a better suited apprentice, then I will drop you like a stone."
He glared at his creature. "Then you will be free to find another sith if you want."

Thrait twisted in up out of the dirt, but quickly stood passive before the Sith, his head lowered almost to the man's eye level, his feet scratching at the place the remants of his lightsaber had fallen. "Id you would show me you are worthy of respect and are what you speak of, I will be glad to...come with you. Undo my faulted training if you like."
He could not in his mind revile his one-time Master, but no need for Sallazar to know that. And maybe there was more to the Force. It had always spoken in half-sentances, or a foreign language, to him.

Shayla stalked to her master's room, Forced the door open, and halted in front of her master, shaking with anger, lightsaber in hand.

Xyko was in the middle of a flash back. She looked down on the child, her green eyes looking back without fear. Xyko kneeled, explaining how her parents were dead, and how she would take care of her. Tears ran down Shayla's face. Cupping her chin with her hand, Xyko wiped away the tears and told her to be strong.... She opened her eyes to see her apprentice standing in the doorway. Anger rolled out from her like a strong wave and Xyko frowned. What she had done was for Shayla's own good. If she had not taught this lesson to her now, someone who really wanted to hurt Shayla would, and she might pay for her mercy with her life. You must be strong, Shayla, she thought at her apprentice, and I am helping you become as strong as you can be. She cared for her student deeply, though she rarely showed it in words. Xyko picked up her bag and asked, "Are you ready to leave?" She might no be able to understand now, but hopefully she would later.

((Well, we're in a hallway, going to my ship. After that, we plan on going to see what trouble we can cause. Let's start a conversation and see what happens, *grumbles* CJ hasn't posted in forever.))

"I stand by what I said." He told him. "I will drop you like a stone. If you fail in your training I will punish you, if you disobey me I will drop you, and if you go against my will I will not hesitate to kill you."
He smiled wickedly and eyed the creature infront of him. "And as for respecting me, I will show you why I deserve it if you show me you are worthy of the my respect."
He twisted his hand and the sands shifted again, covering Thrait's feet. "Stop looking for it, it is broken and deep beneath the sands." He sneered and waited for a reply.
((Now I'm very sorry, I was on vacation, then moving to University, WITHOUT INTERNET. Sorry))

((This is actually DT, since CJ doesn't want to rp anymore. Grr, now I have to find another apprentice! Yeah, well I put a bounty on this character on Dark Lords, and Morn says he'll do it, someday....)) Shayla followed in a stormy silence, making no attempt to disguise the feelings of anger and betrayal she felt toward Xyko. She walked up into her master's ship, Spyre, and sat down in one of the passenger's seats, her arms folded underneath her breasts.

Knowing that to talk now would be useless, since her apprentice was discinclined to hear anything she said, Xyko ran a engine check. She found everything satisfactory, and too the ship out of the hangar and into space.

(Long time no post.)
Thrait picked his claws up out of the sand and shook them. He knew that the human Sith Master did not envy him anything...did not consider him varely sentient. But that often worked. The anger glared out of his eyes but he, for now, said nothing to provoke the like. "Alright." He growled. "Show me what I must do to earn the respect of the Sith."

"You will find out in time." Sal said. "Now follow me." He turned as started walking. He stopped after a few steps and turned. "And I don't want to hear you speak until I say you can."
He turned back and continued walking south, towards the horizon, endless sand and moonlight for as far as the eye can see.

And so Thrait followed, feeling the testing that he so wanted rising around him in the dimness, the struggle his mind had to grasp the whisps of the Force. It was easier on this planet than it had been elsewhere; he generated no skull-ache here where the ground smelled of the past and dark footsteps and old dust. The ire, bite in Sal's words passed through the Sarkan and shivered his thigh muscles, lowered his head and spiny ridge.
