Saxon Math, Algebra 2, and I HATE it...it's not too hard, but I just don't like math!

Redrose uses Saxon Math. She likes it.
*thinks to herself: You can like math? Can you use those words in the same sentance?*

Consumer math, Abeka. *rolls eyes* Stuck with Abeka... sigh.
I'm doing level 6 for Sonlight-- but that was merely so mom could team me and my sister up. Sigh. She makes me do double everything to make up for it though... and then, the Abeka math being like grade 11 stuff, I swear...
But then, I am in grade 10... *blinks* I think. You know, I'm actually not sure at the moment... need sleep...
Math is the bane of human kind...

Anyone here do Streams of Civilization for history? I don't like it, I despise history. I find it rather pointless, who agrees? I'm in 12th grade... I did do that for history a few years ago. That curiculum stinks but I happen to love history. It adds a whole new appreciation for SW ans the Silmarillion.

YES! Algebra is the bane of mankind!
Far: But we wouldn't have all this wonderous technology without math, Maeg. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it doesn't have its good points. Without math, we'd all be living like cavemen.
Maeg: How dare you defend math?! *Hits Far over the head with Redrose's algebra textbook*
Anyway.
Well, Padme Evenstar, Redrose is taking eighth grade classes, although I think she's the right age to be a seventh grader. I'm a sophomore in college. Me in big gurl skool.

I'm in 11th grade.
I met with my Charter School lady yesterday. That had to have been the biggest waste of time EVER. But then, that's probably because I dislike the Charter school with a passion...

Hee hee. Evil charter school lady. Redrose almost went to something like a charter school, but the lady in charge said she didn't like homeschoolers. Go figure. *rolls eyes*

Happy birthday, Sblomie!!
Algebra isn't that evil... At least there's a prescise and consistent answer in algebra... In geometry there's all these definitions, postulates, and theorems to memorize. In algebra you memorize a couple formula and apply each to many many problems. In Geometry you memorize many many definitions and apply each to a couple problems.
Eowyn: *is stealing the keyboard again* *mutters* Traitor. *clears throat, Obi-Wan imitation* But you're going to find that a great many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. Algabra is elsewhere... elusive... okay, you can slap me for that. Heh.
Adrienne: *mumbles something unaudible*

Heehee...I'm fifteen and in 10th grade...but I think I'm doing 11th grade math...I can't wait to finish school...the only part I like is Reading...maybe Science. What's everyone doing for Science this year? I'm doing Apologia Science, Exploring Creation with Biology...yes, I'm still in Biology. At least I got out of the dissections! My parents couldn't afford the kit, so I look at pictures online...not much better, but...

I like Biology. Me and six other homeschooled friends have all had our own science class for the last three years. This year one girl dropped out, though. *cries*

Grrr... I did Apologia Biology last year... and flunked it. I hate science-stuff!!! I guess I'll have to repeat that one in 11th...
Does anyone else here do ACE "School of Tomorrow"? I've done it since, what? 3rd grade?

I've never heard of that curiculum....What's it's style of teaching like?

Very independent... you can basically work on your own. There are "Learning Centers" like in Texas or somewhere that they use this curriculum in, and the student works on their own with minimal help from "Supervisors."
Even in first grade, you just read the text and do the work, needing very little help. Starting in about third grade, you even check your own work. It's meant to make you responsible or something.
I know I sound whiney, but I find it highly annoying. They have really dumb cartoons teach moral values... featuring "Ace" and "Pudge" and "Racer."
It's okay, I guess, and even really good if you're a self-motivated student who likes to work on their own.
