((Sorry it has taken me so long to reply!))
Eoloth ignored Eorae's question, simply because she really didn't know what she was going to do. She wasn't a cruel person, so killing anyone always caused her at least some discomfort. Instead she addressed the Southerner. "Yea, I have the advantage, but to kill you now would ruin it. Why do you not tell me what I seek? Are you with others? Answer, and it will go well with you: if you consider it better to die, I will kill you quickly and bury your body. If you consider it more to your advantage to live, I will do what is in my power and position to do to such as you. For I know that there was a time when the Southerners were reconciled to men of Gondor by King Aragorn. And I will not so easily lay aside a treaty of peace, if there exist one. Such are my terms if you answer me. What say you?"
In her heart, Eoloth wished to let the man live. To be sure he had insulted her and her companions, but what was that? She was not above forgiveness where it was due. Furthermore, she thought, there is the mortal still in the woods with his horse to take into account. I don't intend to have an unknown following us.

Shakra was in a bit of a spot. He had no desire to submit to the Northlander, but if he did not, he would die, and then never gain his revenge. So he made his desicion. "I have come alone. You may search, but there are no others." He sighed, his honor and pride would torment him for this. "I-my desire is to live."

Eldarion smiled to himself when he heard his father's name. At least there were still some men, er women who still had morals. He stood up and walked into the camp. "There is still a treaty, though it may soon fall apart." He looked around the camp. "Where are you going?" he asked.

Eoloth was startled by the male voice behind her. Yet she didn't move her position at all, rather she looked behind her, and seeing it to be the man in the woods, with his weapons put away, she relaxed and turned back to her prisoner. Eoloth ignored the man's question, leaving the question for Aldrin to answer, as Aldrin was the only one who truly could answer. Instead Eoloth said to the Southerner, "What is your name?" She spoke not unkindly now, and as she did, she put her bow and arrow away on her back again.
She reached down, and broke off half the arrow (her arrow) that was in the man's shoulder. She winced as a groan escaped him, brave though he was, for he did not cry aloud. "Sorry," she said, "I needed to, if you wished to live." Then she spoke to Eorae, "Eorae, do me a favor, and get some rope for me to bind the Southerner." She decided not to tell the others she would extricate the arrow and help heal the man before her if she could. Instead she addressed the other man who had come out of the woods, "Who are you, where are you from, and why are you here?"

He was embarrased that even the groan had escaped his lips. Shakra was, against his will, less agressive, so he answered, though Eoloth looked as though she was paying attention to the Northlander man. "Shakra."

"I am..." Eldarion hesitated before continuing. "...Eldarion. Son of Ellesar. I am king of Gondor and Arnor. I am currently searching for truths behind rumors." He sat down on a stump just inside the firelight.

Eorae's eyes nearly popped out of her skull. The King? Lady Eoloth's presence had been surprising, but this man was probably the most powerful man in Middle-Earth!

While Eldarion was speaking, Eoloth had bound the Southerner, whom she now knew as Shakra. When the king was finished speaking, Eoloth spun around to face him, and curtsied most admirably. "I didn't expect you would do a mission like that yourself, your grace," Eoloth said familiarly. This was hardly the first time she had met the young king, though for him it was probably less so. For she had seen him many times, when he was younger and growing up in the courts of Minas Tirith.
"What sort of rumors are going around? Orcs? A new dark lord?" Though she was half joking and half serious, she turned back to Shakra. She helped him to sit up where he was.
"Eorae, would you happen to have any athelas on you?" Eoloth asked.
I wonder if Aldrin could use some tending to. If nothing else we should find her a weapon.

"My father would have looked into it, would he not?" Eldarion drew his sword, and began to sharpen it. "I have athelas," he said reaching into his pocket.

"Well," Eoloth said in reply to Eldarion, "I just didn't expect him to let his own look into simply a rumor. WOuldn't he have a trusted friend to do such?...Nevermind." "Thank you, my lord," she said as Eldarion handed her some athelas. Noticing that water was still boiling for a meal that hadn't even been thought of, she placed the athelas into the pot. Everyone took a deep breath as the air was filled with a sweet and pure scent of freshness.
Taking a spoon out of her pack, Eoloth took a spoonful of the now crushed athelas, and placed it onto a stone to cool a little. No one spoke. There was little to say. After a few minutes, Eoloth picked up the athelas, and placed it onto Shakra's wound. She waited for someone to say 'What do you think your doing', but no one said a word, yet again.
After wrapping up Shakra's wound, Eoloth broke the silence. "There's still plenty to do. Aldrin, do you need your arm tended? We also need food. Since the attack and Eldarion's arrival, I was not able to find any meat. I feel there is very little to be found anyway."

((Gack!! *Put in apology of your choice here* Sorry about that guys . . . . ))
Aldrin stiffened when she recognized the King of Gondor. She clenched her jaw and did not speak to the young man. It was not necessary after all. "No. My arm is fine thankyou." Her voice was cold and a bit harsh. "As for his question." The young woman nodded at Eldarion. "we are heading for a small encampment of my people. Other than that I will not reveal, for their safety." Her eyes glared at the Gondorian man and she rose quickly. "I have some bread that could be toasted for a meal. Other than that I have nothing to offer." She thought of the gypsies and how she longed for home. To be with those like her. In a way she sympathized with the Southerner. Surely he had been ostracized by the other races like her. Aldrin forced a smile onto her face, sure that it looked as fake as it felt.

Eldarion noticed that the one called Aldrin was glaring at him. He pretended not to notice. "I'm sorry, but I do not believe that I got your name."

((uh, Aldrin...your turn...but anyhoo)) Eoloth waited for Aldrin to reply, as she toasted the bread offered. From her own pack she produced two apples and, using her knife, she split them evenly. Eorae also gave her some cheese. They would make do.Somehow, I wish I had someone I knew here. Am I making the right decision, throwing in my lot with these people? Yet who am I to be a judge of character? It's just...Aldrin is so edgy and reclusive. She has been hurt, not only physically, yes, I can see it in her eyes, her fake smile. What am I to do? How can I help her?

((I know it's been awhile-Blame mt personal life..... It's complicated but I am back!))
Aldrin barely hid the sneer that curled her lips for the merest fraction of a second. "Yes M'Lord I have not given you my name. Nor do I see fit to. Your kind has done enough hurt to my family already." She turned abruptly and went to stand by the horses. She had lost her appetite. With her unhurt arm the young woman stroked Eorae's horse's neck lovingly. "Such a stunning animal." Her heart leapt just to be near it and once again she wondered what it would have been like to grow up in Rohan. Where these horses were a constant. She rested her head on the animal and let silent tears roll down her face. "Oh Dat, I miss you so"

Eorae walked up behind Aldrin and hesitantly laid a hand on her shoulder. She didn't know why Eldarion upset Aldrin so, but she knew the pain of loss.

Aldrin jumped and hurriedly wiped the tears from her eyes. "You startled me." She set her jaw firmly, intent on hiding the fact she had been crying "Can I help you M'Lady? It's getting rather late and we have quite a ways to travel tomorrow. It might be wisest to get some sleep"

Great! Eldarion is my friend...and now I find out that he and Aldrin just simply aren't going to be able to go anywhere in each other's company. What's going to go wrong next? Not only that, but I feel certain Aldrin will despise my offers for help and healing. Best leave it all well enough alone. Things will happen the way they will happen. I promised Aldrin protection, and if that's all I will be able to give her, if she refuses to accept my friendship, so be it.
"We should all sleep. But I'll take the first watch, unless someone else wants it."

Eldarion winced. Somehow he had upset one of them. he watched her walk over to the horses. He wished that there was something he could do. He walked over to his horse, and removed a sleep roll from the saddlebags. he layed it out on the ground and plopped down. He used his cloak as a blanket, and started dozing off.

Shakra stayed silent, observing the group's dynamics. Maybe he could turn them against one another, and escape. It would be running away, but it would have to do for now.
