Armen sat silently watching the fields burn. Middle Earth had changed since King Aragorn had died. The Orcs had found a new leader and had banded together and become more dangerous than ever. Dragons roamed freely and trouble abounded everywhere. Her old heart ached to see what had happened to her beloved home. At times Armen pondered the wisdom of her decision not to travel to the Grey Havens with her fellow elves. So much heartache had come to her but all in all she was happy with her decision.

"It's sad isn't it?" Azalea the halfling looked at the lone elf, watching the feilds burn. " My dad used to talk about King Aragorn's time, when the world was green and orcs where just a thing of the past. It sounds like such a wonderful thing, beging able to walk with out worrying about being attack. He was one of the first hobbits out of the Shire, you know. That's my dad" Her thoughts wandered out to her dad, and his stories about Gondor and Frodo and King Aragorn. Strider he called him. She turned her head contemplating the past, the reflections of the fire flamed in her green eyes. " I am Azalea Took" She added in her soft Shire accent. She smiled, then turned once again to the burning feilds.

The young man's gaze fell upon the elf and the halfling. He was releived to see creatures other than the village-burning orcs he was used to fighting all his life. Never had he found peace in the world.. except in the stories his older sister told him of the heroes of the past. He memorized these stories for they gave him warmth and a feeling of the home that he missed to dearly.
He stood unsure behind the two. The heat and soot of the fires made his skin turn black. His hair waas greasy and un-combed with his vivid blue eyes shome trough and gave those who looked upon them a feeling of joy.
His name was Vordil and he roamed Middle Earth, hoping to find his parents who had been forced to leave him and his sister with his gradparents who had passed on 5 years back.

Erda stood a few miles away gazing curiously at the fire. She wondered what was going on over there and if she should go over to investigate. It was several weeks since she had been thrown out of the pack, and she was very lonely. It was hard finding shelter and food without her pack members. She lifted her nose and sniffed at the wind, smelling smoke. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to investigate," she decided. She transformed into a white wolf and started trotting off in the direction of the fire.

"Azalea Took is it?" Armen smiled reminsicantly. "No doubt your father is young Pippin, yes? I knew him well during King Aragorns time. It is very hard to see my home burned as such." Something in the woods caught the elfs attention and she pulled an arrow from her quiver and fitted it onto her bow. "Something draws near Little One. Be wary."

"Pippin was my father, though I never thought him as young!" she gave a big smile and looked at the elf's face. It tensed up, alert, and immediatly Azalea was alert as well. She had learnt that the elves are never wrong when it comes to sencing things. "What is it?" she whispered, drawing her small sword out of her belt. A gift from Merry, it was a sword of Rohan. Her dress rustled quietly as she turned to the direction of the woods. Something caught her eye, dark and shadow like. She hoped it was not an orc.

Erda saw the elf fit an arrow to her bow. "She must have seen me," she thought and stopped behind a tree. There she transformed back into a woman and then stepped out in plain view where they could see her. "Hail, elf," she said raising a hand. "Hail little halfling. I am Erda and I come as a friend." She gestured towards the burning fields. "What has happened here?"

Armen lowered her bow slightly but the mistrust she felt was evident in her eyes. "Hail. I am Armen, descendant of Galdriel." She paused and looked again at the flaming fields. "Orcs, what else. The hobbits working there were lucky to get out alive." She shook her head sadly. "Where are you from stranger? I do not think we have met before."

Erda almost jumped out of her skin at the sight of Vordil. The claws on her left hand started to grow almost before she knew what was happening. Quickly she reversed the effect until her hand was normal again. She turned back to Armen who’s knocked bow was now trained upon Vordil.
“I have been wandering alone for awhile,” Erda said, and Armen’s bow switched back to train upon her. She raised both hands and tensed in case she needed to jump out of the way. “I promise you I come as a friend!” she said in her defense.

Azlea looked up at Armen, who seemed to have become somewhat protective over her own and Azlea's safety. It was almost a motherly sort of protection, but Alea guessed it was because hobbits can'tdefend themselves well, or some at all. It felt nice to have someone looking after her back, after the horrors at the feilds, she felt better with the tall elf pointing her arrows at the new comers. " How do you we know you're a friend?" she asked some what suspisious. " Erda and Vordil, I am Azlea Took, daughter of Pippin, late of the Shire. I was one of the those working in the feilds when the orcs attacked and I came and hid up here... it was awful, hobbits like me, we can't defend our selves well. Cabbogages and Potatoes are better for us...definatly. I lived and I am here talking to you, so it can't be all that bad!" She put on a cheerful smile but still didn't lower her sword.

Erda listened to the Halfling's words. "Are the orcs still there in your village? We can attack them! I will help you! What do you say?"

((Okay, I've a couple questions for you all. Well... not exactly questions. First of all, Dragons don't roam ME. They were pretty much all wiped out in the Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales, then the Hobbit. Smaug was the last Dragon. And he went pbbt. So, going by Tolkien's literature, there couldn't be Dragons roaming about, even after Aragorn's death. The orc thing could work, though there weren't really disturbances like that after the death of the King. [see the Appendixes in RotK] Try ta, you know, keep it real....))

Vordil's face grew with angre at the word "orc". "I despise orcs. Everywhere I go they're there ruining and killing, never stopping until dead..." He looks at the hobbit, "If they are still in your village I will help to destroy them, I can hold my own in battle."

Well [he looks at the small group of divers beings]
I suppose we should do something about this... Should we go hunt some orc?
[he waits patiently while looking out across the burning fields]

Armen sat down on the grass. "There's nothing much we can do. The Orc rule here now." Her voice was resigned as if accepting the fate that had been delt her.
o O (yes you are accepted . . . . this RP seems to not be going anywhere so if you'd like to start a new one just let me know ok?? Might be easier to start a fresh one.)
