I apologize for that, Joan, you are right. I should have said ' what we believe', because I have been taught that too.
I could argue that if God does use human time, how did he measure it before He made the suna nd moon, but I won't.
Simply put, we believe the same thing, but in ways that make sense and have proof to each of us.

Apology wholeheartedly accepted, m'dear...and thank you so much for your sweet reception. Refreshing, that... Of course, God exists outside of time...we're agreed on that. I'd not say we believe the same thing, though. See, I believe that it's very important to realize that Genesis is a literal account of creation and early history...for numerous reasons, which I'll share upon request. One thing I will say...at the giving of the Ten Commandments, God says that we are to work six days and rest one, just as He did in creation. So, what does that mean if not exactly what it says? I'm sure the Israelites never even considered that God wanted them to work six "ages" and rest one "age", eh?

God created how we measure time. Going from the rest of the Bible, people can pretty much tell that God puts things pretty simply, there's nothing to misunderstand. He wouldn't tell us it was seven days if it was seven ages. "First, I appreciate that none of you have tried to flame me yet." you say that as if you expect us to. no, we usually try to stay away from flaming on these threads.

I did, actually. I've read many of these threads, and they do get pretty hot. I appreciate your openness to me.
I tend to take the Bible a little less literally than you. Personally, I've known God to talk to me in metaphors, so I don't always take everything I hear or read as absolute truth, when it could mean, or be applied to, something else.

I know I've gotten pretty ticked on a couple of these threads.. descussing God really gets me fired up. sometimes in a negative way, but usually positively. I think that God speaks to people in different ways, for some, he actually speaks, for others it's through the Bible, for others it's through music or just the Holy Spirit (I almost wrote the Holy Sprite.. lol) pushing you to do something. If I'm not clear on what God's saying to me, I just take the Bible and sift through it, let Him speak to me through it. Because I know I can't go wrong there.

I get talked to in many different ways - music, ideas, random words and phrases, the Holy Sprite (it's bubbly and it tastes good LOL) ... so I guess it's different for everyone. And I'm usually a very tempermental person - I'm surprised I haven't flamed anyone yet myself. And pretty happy too.

And yet it happens so often, even when people don't realise they're speaking Spirit-led words. Also, a lot of the time, people will wonder about things they might have heard... "Was that God, or was it just my imagination?" Who's to say that God, the creator of you and your imagination, can't use it to get a word across to you? Ever since I read about that concept, it's clarified for me immensely...he's almost always spoken to me in metaphors and analogies, and it's incredible what you can hear if you just rest in him and listen...
