So themed after my time at 'Aquire The Fire' this year. This year's theme was about Fighting to save America's Youth. More info found herePlease keep in mind this is directed at the Teen population an most of the issuses addressed are not for the little ones. If you go to a Youth Group Have your Youth pastor take a look at Aquire The Fire. It has been a source of inspiration for all. But the reason I've brough this up is this: "We're looking at one of the largest generations of young Americans that have ever lived. 33 million of them are teens right now. 35% of the boomer generation (today's adults) hold core biblical beliefs. It's estimated that only 4% of their children ”this generation of teenagers” will stand firm for Jesus.1 It's Getting Worse Look at what is happening already under the boomer generation's leadership: * Morally corrupt films and television programs. * An increasingly perverted music industry. * The pornographic invasion of the Internet. * Civil initiatives promoting gay marriage. * Rulings that have dictated removal of the 10 Commandments from U.S. courthouses. * 50% of marriages end in divorce. This isn't just about America! This nation is the biggest supporter of missions work world-wide. Whatever direction we go, so will the world. If something isn't done now, it will only get worse. Now Is Our Chance This is our window of opportunity. 77% of the people who ever commit their life to Jesus do so before their 21st birthday.2 Over 4 million young people turn 21 every year and we lose them forever. We must act now! The Battle Cry Coalition The BattleCry Coalition is a broad group of pastors, parents, concerned adults, and teens who share one thing in common - they see the crisis in today's young people and are ready to make a difference. Coalition members receive powerful, free resources to help them in the fight. We can do something to turn the tide, but it can't be done alone. A revolution is brewing. It's time to join the fight. 1 Thom S. I didn't post this to start ANOTHER argument/discussion with you and Silver. This post is for Those who have a relationship with Christ and DO NOT want to see their world grow worse and worse with each passing day.
If you don't like the facts, go away. Please. I will not tolerate another 'discussion' here. You may start an argumant ELSEWHERE but not in this thread. I am enforcing my Mod status when I say this.
I posted this to make my fellow Followers of Christ aware of what we are faceing in words. If you don't like it, take your complatints elsewhere.
Yes your comments are valid. But that is not the purpouse of this thread.

I retract my statement if that is the case. My apologies.
I would also like to say that this board is 'Christian Distcussion'. Not Christian links.
I'm sorry (again) for posting. I guess I just got confused seeing that this was a discussion board.

Faust is correct on his statement about "Christian Discussion"
But it's also for CIVIL discussion. Not flaming and trying to heat this place up. (grins) We're not trying to turn MEI into a firey pit, or something. If a thread would like to be made to discuss gay marriages politely, I'll allow it, but a sharp eye must be kept on it. Your posts are fine, Faust and Silver. But perhaps as this is just sort of a non discussion thread, you two can make another one? Because I welcome discussions.
For the record, I have nothing against gay people. I think it's disgusting and that I'd never do it, but I don't have any strong dislike against them. They're as human as I am. It's like disliking black people for their color, like disliking lepers, like disliking Jews...
I don't like it, but I don't have any hate for them. I accept them without liking what they do. They're people.
Can someone make a thread, then, to discuss the topic without it going astray on this thread's topic, which is about the moral disintigrations of America, I think.
Admin has spoken.

All are the same in God's eyes, for He is not a God of favoritism, and therefore I don't think we should show favoritism either or think others are "better". So I'm sorry, Silver, that you have been made to feel less than any others on this site, because you aren't and never will be. We are all His precious children, and He loves us the same, and I think we should imitate Him in that. And I will always welcome you.

Silver, calm down a little, 'kay? You're misunderstanding what Warious said. If you're a Christian, and you seem to be saying that you are, then she was posting this for you, too. If not, or if you don't agree, then she doesn't want you to take it personally. Basically, this thread is only for people who agree. We can argue about whether such a thread should exist on a discussion forum, or we can just accept it.
It's tough having unpopular beliefs. I think all of us here understand that. That's the reason you should stay. Everyone at ME:I is ready to be tolerant, and we'll help you. I promise.

Ugh....ugh. I think I'm just going to abstain from the computer, maybe from the world. There's too many...people in it. I've seen too much...I don't even know the word for it would be. It upsets me. I know, I know, leaving again. No, actually it has nothing to do with this site...at all. It was the fault of another site, the fault of close minded, ignorant people...and worse than that, they were ADULTS! I would expect more from adults...but no, apparently not on this planet. I retract my statement. Go on with your discussion. You use "followers of Christ" very loosely up there. Where have I ever said I was not? Where have I ever said I was not Christian? Do you know I went to the same church Cy went to and I had a good time? Do you know I was considering going back? Well, hmmm...apparently I'm not welcome by you "better" Followers of Christ. Apparently I haven't been accepted in your circle as a follower, and yet you don't even know me. Sorry but you are wrong. I argue for intelligent discussions, not because I'm against that which I am arguing. This whole night has been horrible...a horrible combination of things. Not this site, just people. It's just the people. If anyone needs me, send an E-Mail. I will check that. Oh, Silver.... I hate this sort of thing. This isn't a post against you. To be honest, I've been avoiding these threads like the plague because they break my heart. This isn't a sue for pity from me, just the honest truth. I'm sick right now, because of what you've said. It makes me sick that you think we've been looking down on you because of slight differences in our beliefs. I'm not going to change anything that I've ever said, but I want you to know that none of it was ever against you. Crap, this sucks. You have no idea how I feel right now... I know where you're coming from Silv, honest to God, I do. And I know how much that kind of this sucks, and what it feels like. Please don't think that we think we're better than you. Right now, I'd say that we're worse, if you're thinking that. As Trin said, that's definitely not Christlike, and I hate that kind of thing, against anyone. If I ever say anything that gives you that impression, please, please pm me about it, because that's certainly not my intent, nor the intent of anyone here. I don't have time to email you, so I'm praying that you get back here to read this. But, yeah, that's all I've got to say. God, I'm sorry...

It was merely these words that sparked it:
The way that it was written suggests that both Silver and I don't follow Christ. We have given no proof that we don't follow Christ. It is very insulting actually.
She never said you, Dun. I, personally, know you haven't done anything to insult us. It's when people say things like 'take your complaints elsewhere' that hurt us. When we give reasonable (but different) views on a topic and told to simply 'get lost' (in any way), that hurts us.
Dun (and many others), you have not given any reason for us to be upset. Silver has every right to say what she said (in my opinion) and I do too (though I didn't, yet I was going to).
That's it, no more. This is Warrious' thread. No more posting on it. I may not be a mod or admin but I know when enough's enough. We have said our thoughts on it, whe have all written enough here.

This thread was never meant to be offensive to any who don't share our beliefs. If you assumed Warious was attempting to sunder you, well...
Well, even I'm a bit frustrated with the way this thread is going, and so quickly too. MEI's meant to be accepting of all and sundry, not "let's bash someone because they have slightly different religious beliefs". Warious, they are intitled to their posts in different perspectives. Next time, if you think they've overdone, or stepped the boundries of flaming, bring it up in the mods board before snapping off. I've ended up hurting a lot of people's feelings from snapping before I think.
The rules just say no flaming. Not "we are all zombies, it is pointless to resist". I never seen Faust's post, true, so I can't judge it. But Silver's was harmless in expressing her perspective, and wasn't trying to bash us.
Just for the record, I do think you've implied you weren't Christian before, Silver, by posting in one of the other threads that went flamey, but then, that's just me. And I think you've posted as being Catholic... I think. But I have to keep track of everyone's details, and I mess up a lot.
Just because we're Christian doesn't make us any better. I will post now. I know a lot of people who do think because we believe in eternal life through the work of a savior, we're better. They snub people, and turn so many people in directions leading to suicide. They're the same people who say that Christian rock music is of the Devil, because it's rock, and rock is evil. Even though it's an incredible witness tool. These are the people who try to hinder, unknowingly hurting people so much... and sometimes knowingly, all in God's name. When it's not. I love everyone of you guys, and I don't want people hurt because of beliefs. MEI's meant to be free of this sort of stuff.
All I can say is I'm very grieved by the path this thread has taken.
I suppose as admin, I've spoken. Locking.
