This river is slowly creating a gorge in Narnia's landscape which will later on seperate Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and Trumpkin from Aslan's How and Caspian's army. It's lesser southern than Glasswater, running nearby Aslan's How and an unnamed forest... see the map.

Lethe walked along the river's edge, listening to the water skip across the stones beneath it. She sighed. It wasn't her river, she would know that as soon as she found it.
She thought. Maybe she wouldn't. Lethe couldn't remember. Suddenly, her blue nose crinkling, she wondered where she was and what she was doing. She glanced at the river, knowing that there was something important here she was forgetting. A bit dazed, she wandered off, looking for something, what she wasn't sure.

Ru waved to Lethe from his place many body-lengths from the water. He had never liked it. Too...unpredictable. And so he had adopted the water-spirit now bumbling along with him..."Ay Lethe, m'am! Perhaps we ought to...ask around. In the town...all sorts of creatures might know the habits of your people." He wasn't sure about that, but wanted something to get done in this little quest. It was habit and custom to be kind among the forest beings. He walked toward her, glad of not having to look up quite so much as usual when speaking to someone side-to-side. "All unfortunate, this." That was either a consolation or a mumble.

A confused look crossed Lethe's face as she tried to place Ru's face. "Um, do I know you?" Lethe, he called me. Is that my name? What is he? He's furry! Dark eyes inwardly reflective, she tried to remember a scrap of information. The river was a good thing, her instincts told her, as was the furry one. By the Lion! She should remember something. The Lion, Lethe remembered, why she could she wasn't sure. The Lion was Lethe's King, but after that, things began to get a little fuzzy.

Walker moved through the forest, following the moor cat. Rumor, huge form cloaked in shadows, paused to look back at Walker, before moving foward.

((I'll ask that you guys stick into this thread for the time, please? We haven't quite finished getting everything up *the mods, that is*, such as the rules and a bit more information. So stick in this thread and get comfortable with RPing here... remember the basic rules, 2 sentence posts at the least, basic grammar rules, third person and quote marks, swearing must stay to the Star Wars two if at all (and in Narnia it seems foolish to use those, try be more creative), sexual content can't go past kissing, violence can't be too descriptive, be polite, no flaming, blah blah blah...
Full rules should be up soon!
Hugs to all, and don't take offence if we end up removing this thread for a restart if it goes too against the starting timeline and plot, okay? Consider this a test run.))

(Of, sorry if we were'nt to begin yet. I'm good with having it be a test run. I don't know my character very well anyway...)
Ru sniffed, thinking he caught something human or strange on the wind but quickly it was gone again. He took Lethe's hand and guided her slightly away from the river, as it seemed to capture her all ready bound mind. "Yes you know me! I'm Furrufian." Naiad-adopter extraordinaire... "I want to help you get your river back." That was mostly the truth...

Sniffing the air, Rumor headed toward the river. They hadn't seen anyone in days, and he was slightly bored. There is someone near the river, He told Walker. Upon hearing that, the human pulled his cowl over his head, hiding his face in shadows.

Lethe was bewildered. I have a river? "Furrufian, is my river missing?" How could you lose a river? And why didn't she remember any of it? Her bag slipped off her shoulder and Lethe held her staff loosely. All of this is odd, very odd, she decided.

I'll explain it again... "Yes you had a river! Look at you, you don't belong without one! Sure as I don't belong tramping about in search of yours. But I'm going to do that anyway." He sat dpwn then on the cool soil, and turned toward the forest edge, where perhaps something was moving...something large.

Taking Ru's advice, Lethe looked down at herself. Her skin and dress and even her hair were all different shades of blue! And she felt an certain affinity to the water. "I think you're right. If you don't belong helping me, why are you?" As soon as she got that out, her mind rushed on to another idea. "Have we been to alot of rivers so far? Why can't I remember all this?"

Marrowing cocked his head and peered darkly at the commotion below his unseen perch. An impression formed dimly in his mind; something here was not as it should be. There was more water flowing through the Rush. Probably more snow had been deposited on the mountaintops this winter, possibly an earthquake shifted a sister river's course and mated the two. None of this truly surfaced in Marrowing's consciousness. His brain was busy seeing. Seeing a few sticks he recognized from a beaver's dam upriver, mud and grass which the Rush would never have turned up before, the drowned corpse of a small animal tempting his appetite and beckoning him from his carefully chosen perch.
But spying on the other animals was much more interesting than food. Marrowing pecked deftly at an parasite lodged in his down and allowed the wind to ruffle his feathers.

Ru shrugged. "I think you got on the wrong side of some kind of magic user. You've been wondering around ever sense, asking me the same questions over and over..." He stumped back to the water's edge, grabbed her hand carefully and pulled her toward the woodlands. "Come on then. We must find some sources of more information." At the forest's edge he sniffed more for people or things around. There was something...

Lethe immediately forgot about her apparent memory problems. "Oh, it's a cat!" She smiled and thought,How pretty! Unreservedly, she walked toward it, hand out. Somewhere locked in the part of her mind where faint memories still clung to her brain, a more grounded part of her screamed out as loud as it could to exercise caution. But she couldn't hear it anymore than she could access those lost memories, and was totally oblivious to the possible danger.

"That's moor cat," Rumor said, "but otherwise, you're right. I'm Rumor, by the way."

Ru held out a paw with no destinction between whether it was for warding off or greeting. "Hai there--carefull Lethe you don't have to trust him--what brings you here, sir?" Was 'sir' the right way to address a talking cat? Immediatly Ru had bristled -figuratively-but was relaxing again as the other animal seemed friendly. Maybe he would know something about the missing river.

"He's ok, Ru." Lethe said, her head bobbing up and down. "He's a moor cat. Can I pet you?" She said cheerily. He looked so soft! Wait, there was something else she was supposed to be doing. The sound of the running water behind her reminded her. "Have you seen my river?"
