Taken from Wikepedia. Byss is a planet in the Deep Core Region of the fictional Star Wars galaxy, that served as the personal resort world, sanctuary, and laboratory for the Emperor Palpatine. During the peak of the Empire, Byss was a mythical world, reputed to be a peaceful and beautiful paradise that the citizens of the Empire yearned to live on. It was central to the plot of the Dark Empire comic series, but has been mentioned and shown in many other places in the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
It orbits a binary system of a blue giant and a blue dwarf, and the planet itself has five small moons, and is the fifth planet from its sun. The blue sunlight the planet receives which makes algae and plankton in the lakes and rivers of the planet flouresce. The planet has a very mild and temperate climate overall, and has no volcanoes and virtually no seismic activity, the small moons also provide very little in the way of tides. The planet also has no indigenous intelligent life, and most of the life on the planet has yet to evolve beyond simple plants. What little animal life exists is relatively harmless and nocturnal. In terms of mineral wealth, Byss lacks many strategic metals and other compounds, making it useless for mining. It was, however, ideal as a resort or sanctuary. The difficulties of navigating the Deep Core also meant it was very defensible and difficult to reach by the typical galactic denizen.

Thanks for filling in the info, Claidi. But Cluge, next time you want a planet thread established, could you please ask and just wait for approval? I asked what you wanted Byss for, specifically, but never got a response. I don't have a big problem with the thread's creation, but neither is it good if a bunch of planets start popping up at the will of various members without really getting used apart from one or two posts. Things get messy very quickly that way, and if it's possible to establish your plot on a planet that already has a thread here, that's great. If not, well, just remember for next time. Thanks!

((I don't care if a moderator from any of the RPG boards wants to make a planet thread as long as a) The first post is a filled in description of the planet, as taken from wiki or SW.com's databank, b) They're actively involved in the SRW RP, and c) There is a purpose for the planet... someone needs it, whatever.
On that thought, Jandalf should be set as a mod on this board. Same with Dun. Heh.
I would prefer it myself that if a planet's creation is not approved by a mod, because we are busy, PM the request to Jandalf or myself, or one of the other RP related mods... Joan, Duncariel, Shadow... etc. They can probably all approve planets. I just don't want planets hanging around for the sake of one plot device. They can be said to exist without a thread there.
Anyway, carry on.))

((*grumbles* Ok I'm here . . . happy?? Grrgh . . . . Joan go check your ims))
Boba set down the Slave IV on the spaceport docking bay without incident. That was the easy part. Now to somehow get to Zargo's brat without getting the entire Imperial fleet onto his cloned behind. He mumbled something about the Admiral and some other unsavory words. But a job was a job.
Two stormtroopers standing guard at the entrance each received a toxic dart to the neck, rendering them un-alive. The bounty hunter extended his left arm, engaging his DEMP (Destructive Electro-Magnetic Pulse) launcher. Taking careful aim from the shelter of his ship Boba shot a single shell into the doorway, effectively deactivating all security systems and granting him free passage. He had a self-satisfied smirk on his face underneath his helmet but didn't get too cocky yet.
He walked through the door and took a quick look down the hall. A few cameras but nothing a little bit of sophisticated equipment couldn't handle. An RPG (reverse polarity grenade) appeared in his hand. A sweet little device that would freeze the cameras and temporarily disable the storm troopers link. Just long enough to get the girl out. Boba set down his systems then threw the handheld weapon. After a soft 'thud' and an explosion he reset his viewing ports to compensate for the changes that the charge made to the atmosphere.
It took him less than 7 minutes to find the room the girl was in. He quietly disposed of the guards and entered the room, scanning it for the kid. "You in here??"

((I checked, I checked... I'll read over it tonight, 'kay? Looks cool.))
Areli decided against breathing until she figured out who "you" was supposed to be. Minor details, minor details...letting someone know what you are talking about when you sneak into their guarded room... Just details. She had moved to a sh4dowy far corner of her room when the power flickered, but there really was no place to hide. She made a mental note: Simple, gr3y clothing may more useful than I originally thought.
What's this, now? It was only a matter of time, she knew, before whoever was at the door came to find...someone. Herself? But why? This is irrational. Who would even come here? The best she could do was to be prepared for whatever could come. Always am...

((Dude . . . . sounds like you were raised by vulcans. *lifts eyebrow*))
Boba saw a small Purpleish with Greyish thing in the corner and he walked over to it. "You girl. Are you Admiral Zargo's daughter?" He took his helmet off and knelt down to her level. "I'm here to rescue you." He smiled and patted her shoulder aqwardly, not being used to kids.

((LOL! Meh...something like that...there's children raised by storm troopers, for ya... )) What is going on? Areli did not move as the stranger spoke, knelt...touched her clumsily. How awful. She refused to show disgust, or the confusion that pressed her mind with so many questions that she was for a moment afraid to speak. One situation at a time. Someone will almost certainly be coming soon."Move your hand. I do not know any Admirals. I am five years old. How would I know an Admiral?" Her voice was soft, level, but the tone was painfully clipped and correct. ...and exactly how do you define "rescue"? One question at a time; I don't believe he can handle any more.

Boba groaned inwardly then shoved his helmet back into place. "We don't have time for this kid." He lifted the little girl over his shoulder, much like a porter hefting a sack of vegetables and stalked out into the hallway. She squirmed and he jostled her. "Quit moving." The effects of the DEMP and RPGs were wearing off. It was only a matter of moments before reinforcements came.
The familiar clank of standard-issue armored footing made him turn to see a StormTrooper holding a blaster rifle level with his head. "Halt! You're under arrest." Boba smirked and slowly approached.
"So sorry. I'll return her. But first." He quickly pressed a grenade into the soldiers outstretched hand and ran towards the ship with the girl bouncing like some forgotten package.
Explosions and klaxons could be heard as Boba tossed the kid into the co-pilots seat. "Buckle up."

"Mmph..."
"Halt! You're under arrest. " What is going--aaaah! Areli barely kept from screaming aloud as she heard explosions from...where? I cannot see. Where are we...? "Uuhf!"
"Buckle up." She looked about quickly, and decided that this was a good time to do as she was told. She fumbled a bit--her brain was tripping over questions and their potential answers.
"What do you think you are doing?! You do not know who I am." Think fast, think FAST! "You..." There it is... "Who sent you here?"
