"...care for her, knowing full well that she wasn't going to get any better soon..."
Dublik pulled out of sleep slowly, and wished again that she stayed alert. Not caring was difficult art to master. They don't care for you. She smiled a little. They don't need me...they don't have to care.
She held still, waiting. Better to be prepared. Okay. Listen.

Kaklyn sighed. "Alright. And you know, being a warrior doens't have to mean you are heartless. For a long time we were...to our own people when not to others. I don't think it's meant to be like that. How can we function as a race, when we fight ourselves and care nothing for others like us? I can not believe that is what we were created for." She was beginning to feel much more comfortable with all of this. Probably, she had gained a new companion. Maybe adding to that another who would never speak to her, but a companion none the less.

"I know that." He said quietly. "I think we were created to do Yun-Yuuzhan's work, yet when we do not know that work we should act as he did, selfless. Maybe he will then smile upon us as would the other gods."

"You're deep-minded, for a warrior." Kaklyn said. Heat beat down on her dark skin. "Yea, selfless in mind more than in body. It is Yun-Yuuzhan's mind that it is hardest to know, and most admirable to emulate."

"That's right." He agreed. "The warriors should mimic both Yun-Yuuzhan and Yun-Yammka. With the slayer's courage and Yun-Yuuzhan's mind one could become the greatest of warriors."

"...the greatest of warriors."
Dublik smiled, letting the words sink into her mind. It didn't all make sense, but the words were soothing--pretty pieces of a world that didn't seem ever to fit together. The greatest of warriors... It wasn't the way she thought of Tyrsis...but it was a piece that fell into place. Protector...that's what they mean. A warrior with a reason.
And what's his reason, then? She didn't know. It would have to be...good, she thought... Noble, she meant, but no word came to mind for the thought. It was something to ponder...

"Intriguing." said Kaklyn. "I will think on this..." She looked up at the sun. "Maybe I should be getting back. Just to check in with my father. He's a little...paranoid."

"I'll come with you." He stated. "If we are to be going to the jedi temple together."

Kaklyn nodded, and stood. "That's the idea." She sighed. The sun was irritating. "You okay with leaving now? Is she ok?"

"I can't leave her alone." Tyrsis said quietly. "I'll carry her." He went over to Dublik and gently tried to wake her up. The last thing he wanted to do is startle her.

Breathe...breathe...breathe...
Dublik opened her eyes slowly. She felt too dizzy to stand. Get up, stupid girl...! In her mind she clung to him, and there were words... She couldn't find her words. Hide me...don't make me do this!
Breathe...breathe...breathe...
She looked up at Tyrsis. Okay...control...and...say something... "Now? I didn't know it would be now..." She couldn't keep her eyes focused. Something else...that sounds like begging!
"What do you need me to do...please?"

"Just follow me." He told her gently. "You can walk beside me, I'll separate you from Kaklyn."
He then leaned in and smiled his deformed smiled. "She is really nice, I'd think you'ld like her if you'd accept her. You don't have to, I'm just making a suggestion." He offered his hand to help Dublik up.

Kaklyn watched them impassively. Poor being...who needed help with every move. Would a crowd of Jedi be to much for her? She came up behind Tyrsis quietly, staying far from touching distance of the two. "You're sure about this? No reason you have to go."

((Really? Eheh...sorry, been a tad busy. ))
"You're sure about this? No reason you have to go."
Dublik stayed where she was for a moment, fighting down her anger. What does she know...what does she understand about what I have to do? She could taste spiteful words, words she could never let out. They make you bitter inside.
Just don't look at her. You don't even have to look at her. She stared Tyrsis in the eye, and tried to be less angry with him than with the stranger...with herself...and everything. "I'm going wherever you go, right?"

"Thats right." He agreed. He squeezed her and and smiled, trying to give her courage. "And I'm sure everything will turn out fine."
He stood up, still holding Dublik's hand. He offered his other hand, giving it to her if she needed help getting up. "Now we should be getting going, okay? We need to go to Kaklyn's father's place first, then we'll leave."

<<It was a rather vague question, actually...but ok. >> Kaklyn nodded. She spoke. Must be a good sign. "We'll be able to get out of the heat in the caverns." She said. "Do you live in the cliffside, Tyrsis?" She began to make her way along the river bank again, stopping to throw some final water over her shoulders.

"Yes I do." He replied to her question. "You live with me too, don't you Dublik?" He smiled to his sister or daughter figure. He still had his hand extended, offerin her help up.
"I, however, don't need to get anything." He informed Kaklyn. "Besides, the more time we linger here the longer it will take us to reach our destination."

Dublik smiled at Tyrsis as she let him help her to her feet. That's right, we're together.
"...the more time we linger here the longer it will take us to reach our destination."
That's okay. You knew that... "Y...you don't want to go back home first?" You knew that, you need to be prepared. "Are you sure?" She took deep breaths, kept smiling. That's okay. He's good to you. Now you be good to him.
It's not him. She didn't realize she was biting her lip until she heard the soft click of her teeth meeting.

Tyrsis could see Dublik wanted to go home, for what he did not know but that was of little importance to him. "Actually," He said outloud. "I just remembered that there is something I have to get from my home. I hope that you don't mind Kaklyn."
He made sure he didn't look at Dublik, making sure not to instill the thought that he had said that for her sake. He knew how she would never actually ask to go back home, so he had learned to pick up on her tells from early on in their relationship.
