Dublik had a sudden, strange urge to laugh out loud. She wanted to thank Tyrsis, show him how happy he had made her... But I might spit blood on somebody. She stared at the ground, trying to get herself under control.
You're going to be a mess anyway, just as soon as you burst out laughing... She started to choke. Go ahead with it!
She could almost see him... Yes...brother, the voice of reason... She laughed until she was on the ground again, until she couldn't laugh any more.
Ow...

"That's fine." Kaklyn said. "We'll meet in...one half klekket?" Her thoughts kept straying to Dublik, but knew that she wouldn't answer any questions, and probably not appreciate Tyrsis answering them either. "Tyrsis, do you have a ship?" Kaklyn's coralskipper could only hold herself...or so it was supposed to.

"Come on Dublik." He said gently, lifting her up so she was standing. "We'll go home for a little while, maybe get cleaned up a bit, right?"
He then looked over to Kaklyn. "And I have a corral skipper myself." He said. "It can hold two, Dublik and myself." He had a custom corralskipper by request, it was good that he had connections to the shapers and was on good terms with them. "And yes, a half klekket will do fine."

"Ah...I'm...sorry!" Dublik began to shake with laughter again as soon as they were out of ear-shot of the stranger. "It was just...funny!" Coughing, she tried to wipe her mouth on her sleeve. "I guess you're ashamed of me, now."
I guess so...what were you thinking?
"Nothing much..."
You're talking out loud...
She grinned at Tyrsis and shrugged, helplessly...

"I'd never be ashamed of you Dublik, unless you went against the gods." He placed a comforting arm around her, smiling, though he looked ahead. "But becoming a heratic isn't something that fits your character."
"You just need some help, that is all." He said. "Someone to protect you. That's me, I'll always protect you." He smiled down warmly to her.
((Maybe you Red could post what Kaklyn is going to do in the time we have to get ready.))

Kaklyn's home was near the edge of the fortress, a selection of rooms some of which she shared with her father. He was an aging Yuuzhan Vong, a thin and bandy ex-warrior, and he tended to speak in Basic to practice with her, one of the few fluents. It irritated her to no end. Here was the last remnent of the wound she felt the galaxy had inflicted on her. "Morning Kaklyn, how are you?" "Alright." She mumbled, then met his eyes. "I am going away, as I said, bringing some new friends." He nodded. His fondness for the Jedi was second to none, because he liked to study them. "Bring back a sample of that flora you pointed out, when you return. Who are these friends?" She hesitated, then began to explain.

Tyrsis stepped into his home, it was nothing special, just an ordinary home for any Yuuzhan Vong, minus the fact that it had a few extra rooms for Dublik.
He turned to his companion. "Dublik, you can go and get whatever you need, okay?" He said, wrapping his arms around her comfortingly. "Maybe go get something to eat."

Vri-kak looked unfazed when she finished. "Watch out for warriors, Kaklyn. They often have their own agendas, to persue such an outdated occupation." Not all of them dad...I'm a warrior you know. Because I like to be. But these petty arguements always went the same. It felt like he should be critisizing the Shamed One. "What about Dublik?" Vri-kak busied himself washing a lamina bowl. "She is no longer Shamed, truely. The gods never ment to make those that could not emulate them a lower rank, or even species." "But it looks like she's messed up. Emotionally scarred." "Then she deserves pity. Watch out for her, if she acts childlike." Kaklyn nodded. "I said I'd meet them in a halfklekket." "Better be off then. Good luck." At least he didn't say 'May the Force be with you.' But she did love her father--with all his eccentricities. She hugged him and made her way toward the hangers.

((M'too lazy to log out, today...lol! I wanted to get this up now. I'm so sorry for being away! Couldn't be helped...))
Dublik looked around, steadying herself. This is safe... Deep breaths helped her clear her mind of the thoughts that were too big for her.
You'll be safe with him, too.
Maybe. She walked through every room. Everything just as it should be; just as it had been every day in her memory. Nothing out of place. She had righted everything before leaving. Order. Peace. This is safe...
That was one job. So she sat. Just breathe, now...and don't think. Life was just a lot of little jobs, all put together. Just a routine. A thing to survive, piece at a time. Brother said so...
Now, breathe...and you'll be ready.

"Please, Dublik." He said quietly. "We must be off, eat, get the things you need." He sighed and stood by the entrance and waited patiently.

Kaklyn stood sat inside coralskipper, checking it through the cognition hood that enabled her to feel what it felt. Her skin was thick, her weapons charged, her stabilizers stabilized etc. The 'mental' status of the ship was fine...though Kaklyn's thoughts kept seeping into it, making it a little bit nervous about the coordinates to Yavin IV. This won't be like last time. I'll keep my ambassadorial distance now. Talk like dad would...mostly.

Dublik smiled, shrugged. "I don't know what I need. No one tells me how long we will be gone." Leave him be. Quiet, distant, ashamed--but her eyes were not everything. The smile twisted her expression to something mocking, maybe cruel.
It passed, leaving a smooth mask. "I'm ready, though, thank you." She stood up and came to stand beside him.

Tyrsis became saddened by her expression. He didn't know why she was said that, why she looked at him that way. "Maybe I haven't been that good to her..." He thought sadly.
He didn't say a word to her, but turned at walked through the door, gesturing for Dublik to follow. The entire walk Tyrsis walked in hurt silence. Soon he could see Kaklyn and her corralskipper, his was docked close by.
He turned and looked at Dublik quietly for a brief moment, not saying anything before turning around and continuing to the dock.

Dublik stared at the ground, tried to still the inside, all-over trembling. Now what have you done? It was easy to watch him not watching; easy to do, hard to do twice. What have you done? Stupid, wicked! He hates you.
He turned. Oh! She bit hard not to show the shock. Look at him, you kill him! White thought, it made her blind a moment. All that pain... Words hit so fast she had no breath to speak. look...didn't know...he feels it...but how...you did that...
He left her. She followed the sound of his steps, not breathing, still blind.

Tyrsis came to Kaklyn's ship. He hit the side of it roughly to signal he was there and ready to go. He was still very quiet, not saying anything. He felt like he had caused Dublik to say that too him, look like that. He felt the same disappointment that a parent feels when their child lashes out.
Tyrsis boarded his ship and signalled for Dublik to board it too. It was a very small ship, but there was room enough for two to sit.

The smack Kaklyn felt was'nt much to the skip's thick skin, but to her it had a distinct...Tyrsisness to it that she liked. She searched through the hood for his ship's mental signature, and worked through the equivalent of comm static. "Ready to go. Uh hi, Dublik." She probably'd rather I didn't say anything at all... but she didn't know. Her own species could be so alien; she had learned that a long time ago. Her skip started to lift from the verdant platform.

"Uh, hi, Dublik."
Dublik jumped. Sudden movement in the tight space was uncomfortable and impossible to conceal. She had followed Tyrsis by sound, and careful listening made the noise of the greeting almost unbearable. What is this? She shook her head a little.
"You...you can give her my 'hello'...if you want to..." she whispered to Tyrsis. Not talking can't help anything...
"I..." I can't see...it's white in here, I can't see... She could not remember the last time, how long it went on. Blindness was a horror Dublik had shut out almost completely. "I..." My mind is drowning... Thoughts like a scream. Her mind had no words for an apology, no words to heal. There were words for hurting, and words for being hurt, and they screamed at her while she tried to remember something. I know he told you something to say now.
"Fix me." It was all she could find.
Nobody hears you.

Tyrsis responded for Dublik through the com link. "Hello Kaklyn, Dublik says hello too." He sighed and started up his skip. The craft gently lifted from the landing pad and hovered. "I'll follow you Kaklyn." He said, waiting for her to leave.
He heard Dublik behind him. He turned around, realizing how his silence must have hurt her, probably even more than her comment did to him. He leaned forward and placed a small kiss on her forehead. "I'm sorry Dublik, I shouldn't have been like that." He shook his head. "I'm sorry."

Dublik shivered a little. Don't be sorry; be different. It was what her brother said. I'll be different. I will...
"I still can't see." She sighed. "How long is this going to take? Maybe it will be better before we get there." Too late, she realized that Tyrsis would not understand. You never told him that before!
