I agree - Padme was weak, most of the dialogue was cheezy and the fight scenes were intracite and jaw dropping. There were some very chilling and visceral scenes -- at the Anakin and Padme I felt my stomach threaten to disgorge my lunch. Obi Wan was my favorite - sublime acting, coped with the script well, fit the part perfectly.
My least favorite part was that it was like a jumbled mash of half introduced and ill formed characters (I'm not trying to make a Vader reconstruction joke here) most of the time.

But cheesy dialogue is fun! It could have been far better, I agree, but it was still a star-at-the-screen movie that I would see again. Blasted theatres here cost too blasted much. 14 or more a showing for an adult...
I greatly enjoyed the whole theatre experiance this time around. My being in costume and all....snrk. Some of the dialogue needed stuff, I have to agree on that. What ill-introduced characters? One complaint I had was that there were no cool intro'ed aliens except the Kaleesh. Prophecy....*shrug* No one knows the original wording of the prophecy, do they? I think they talked about this in the book somewhen.
