Fair enough. I won't bother continuing mine for the moment though, as HORRIBLE COURSEWORK has surfaced.

Standardized tests. High School Proficiency Assessment. New Jersey juniors all have to take them for four days.

Yeeeeesh. I had to take something like that when I was 14 - it's so that the government can see how everyone in the school is doing...

We've got something similar in Canada... (grins) But I'm homeschooled and our supervisior let us get away without doing all that stuff. We had to do SOME of it... tests in grade 3, 6, and 9, I think... Alberta Standarized something or anothers...
...OFFTOPICNESS!! (shoots self)

I meant to finish my story today, but my mom kicked me off the computer so I couldn't. I could probably finish it tomorrow, but if you'd rather go ahead and end the contest now that is fine with me. No need to extend it again on my account.
And I mean that. I'm not trying to guilt trip you into letting me enter late. I will abide by the judges wishes.

I have three entries only, two incomplete. I will wait a little longer for, for example, you Forca as you have extenuating circumstances. I'm on a guilt trip of my own cause people are making me feel like a pretty low priority.. I said write a short story...but I'll live with that. I will ask this of you all ; how many are actually going to enter at an indeterminate time?

Thing is, people on this site have spoilt plot bunnies. They get a nibble of something, they insist on devouring the whole damn lettuce.
And that lettuce is extremely long and detailed and impossible to write in so short a time.

That...is a very good way of putting it.

Cy, please comprehend that in our BIG fanfiction contest, we got 6 entries with an extension....
You're not a low priority, I'm just so busy, and I am UNABLE to write a short story. That's the only way to put it. My short stories are 9 pages long, and will only have two characters in them. I simply cannot write a short story without feeling like I have to cut things off. It's my writing style to build drama. The story I started for this contest is dramatic, not a parody and not a Mary-Sue. Unfortunate, really...
I'd have my entry in by now, but due to circumstance, not to mention extreme writer's block on EVERYTHING but RPing, and even that's fairly blocked off... I haven't been able to. Look at my number of recent posts. I haven't been around that much; I've been doing sigs on DioM and that's been about it. (sigh)
Yeah.
I'll have an entry in, I can promise that, at any indertermate time, because I have an entry written probably to about 9 pages or so... can't remember. And I didn't go to all that work killing Duncariel for nothing...

Blairstown Ambulance Corps..It's my new lifestyle. I will officially have no time for much of anything else, but there is a computer there! So perhaps I will still be able to type and do stuff.
I really don't feel like finishing that story. You can enter what you already have if you so wish. The story I started was the kind that you have to write in one shot or else the feelings disappear. Unfortunately I don't think I would be able to get the feelings back and the rest of the story would be horrific.

Maybe I'll actually try writing a short story next time.
Hey, there's an idea for a contest! There's an annual contest in LA to write a fifty-nine word story. Yup, that's right, a complete story in 59 WORDS.
And it's actually possible, I read on of the entries.
"Careful with that, honey, it's loaded," said the man re-entering the bedroom.
Her back rested against the headboard. "This for your wife?"
"No. Too risky. I'm hiring a professional."
“What about me?”
He smirked. “Cute. But who’d hire a female hitman?”
She licked her lips and took careful aim.
“Your wife.”
I'm not sure if that's the exact wording, but you get the idea - you can get a complete story in only a few words.
Maybe that could be a new competition - writing a story that short? Maybe not THAT short, but only 100 words or summat.

Hmm, I'd have to count my words on the real short ones... I understand, Tiana & Co. I'm just not sure what to do about it....er...so I'll wait for you guys. Ok Silv, I can enter your partial one...as well as HE's, I guess.

I am trying to finish it, really. Mine will most likely be shorter than most, since I didn't have much of a plot to begin with, but mine will be finished!
