In the Movie, machines have taken over the world and hold humans mentally captive through a program known as The Matrix, which makes them think they have a real life (like with a job and a family) when they really are just lying in icky red goo hooked up to power supplies for the machines. However, a group of humans have managed to release themselves and are bent on saving everyone else still held captive. Thus they release a man named Neo, who is The One, to save them all. Through a series of fights with Agent Smith and other bad people, an awesome motorcycle chase, and other actions, he - to say more would ruin the movie for you!
Amazing how you can KNOW what something is about, but when someone asks you to explain it, nothing comes out quite right... Kind of like math, now that I think about it...
Anyway, it's rated R mostly for violence because I do not remember my ears burning or anything while I watched it. I will warn you, though, there is a love scene in Reloaded that I covered my eyes during, so you may want to have the remote control handy or else risk being mentally scarred.
If anyone can explain it better than I can, feel free to do so because I fear I have made a bit of a mess about it...

OHOHOHOHOOOOOOOOOHH! IT all makes sense!..... but, how can I convince my mom to rent it?

Hmmm, I have no idea whatosever how you can convince your mom... My parents where the ones who rented the first one, then we all became hooked and saw the last two in the theaters and on video.
I'm glad my description made sense! Personally, I didn't think I did a very good job. It's one of those things you know but is diffficult to explain.
For rated R, though, it wasn't TOO bad. And even though there was some blood, it wasn't gorey. You just might want to skip the love scene in Reloaded, as I said...

Mom rarely agrees to PG-13 movies so convincing her would be difficlut, OHOH she gave birth to Danny yesterday at 10:20 PM! He looks just like me!... 'cept for the giant mask...

All right.... *hides the P.G. Faerie's eyes* I'll explain the reason for rating, and all that...
((CONTAINS SOME LEVEL OF SPOILERS AND PLOT REVEALING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE BUT ONLY BECAUSE I'M EXPLAINING THE RATINGS))
In The Matrix:
There's a deal of cursing-- nasty words that I have censored in here, but not TOO much... I mean, there's the F, S, and D word in there, but that's about it. And God's name in vain. Not TOO bad... could'a been worse. The scene where they pull Neo out is pretty... strange... but that's about it. The violence isn't any worse than LotR for gore. I'd rate it A 14... if you're younger than that, then you probably shouldn't watch it-- 13 is all right for that movie. I seen it at early 14 years. It's the safest of all the movies, though.
Reloaded:
The fight scenes are AWESOME. Okay... sorry... I loved those scenes. Not too gory either... LotR-alike, I'd say. It's rated A14, and I agree with that, the level of cursing fits. There's one... overdone love scene that I refused to watch ever again in my lifetime, however. AGH! WHY DID THEY RUIN SUCH A GREAT MOVIE WITH THAT SCENE?! My eyes... agh. Cover your eyes or fastforward the scene. I fastforward it whenever I rewatch the movie. MY EYES...
Revolutions:
Well, it's called that for a reason. It takes off from where the last movie dropped off, has tons of battles, and is pretty gory at times. But it's no worse than A14, imo. In my opinion, that is. No overdone romance-- Trinity asks Neo to kiss her, yes, and they do smooch, but it's no worse than Aragorn/Arwen scenes. Fights... erm... are a bit violent. Neo, after fighting a person on a ship gets his face rather burnt, and has to wear a blindfold because of his eyes.... but it's still not worse than A14.
There. Now you have my explanations.
That's great about the brother too, Echo!
Tamora, you know how long it took before I got the point of the Matrix? Erg...

Thanks! We have a DVD player so when it comes to reloaded, we just push "NEXT SCENE" on the remote. We are also going to wait until all the LOTR EE DVD's come out so we get all the deleted scenes!

Eowyn did a much better job than me. I applaud you!!!! And congrats about the baby brother, Echo! Babies are so cute...
I am STILL waiting for all the LotR to come out in a boxed EE set! Hopefully by Christmas... I don't feel like dropping that much of my own money on movies. I got priorities man, and right now, clothes are at the top of that list! Am in serious need of a new pair of jeans...

Don't ask. Don't even try to understand girls and why they do the things they do. Nothing good will come out of it.

HEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! *takes insult* I'll have you all know that I do not spend all my time worrying about clothing. Especially NEW clothing. *shudders* I make a point of making my own clothes last as long as possible-- I make a point of wearing Middle-earthian clothes too, but that's not the point.
But then, I'm not a normal girl. *rolls eyes* I can talk to guys that I have a crush on and not act all... well, most girls know what I mean. Heh.
Thanks, by the way, Trin.

I didn't mean just clothes. I was talking about understanding girls in general. It's impossible.
