I agree entirely... Jeremy Sumpter would be an awesome choice!!!!!!!! CHOOSE JEREMY!!!!!!!! PLEEAAASSEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please forgive me, but I'm suffering from a bizarre crush on Peter Pan, as if you couldn't tell... and also Jeremy Sumpter...

*bug eyes* Johnny Depp??! Ugh, I'm sorry, but that just doesn't sit right with me. I'm not a huge fan of him, I liked him in Pirates, but other than that... *sees Hobbit-eyes coming for her and runs* hehe! Jeremy Sumpter would be pretty good as Caspian. *nod* Hey everyone, check this out! This is something my mom found off the web and she's excited about the movies as I am, so we totally freaked out, but anyway, I hope you enjoy it, and don't go too psycho on me. *grin* bvbp-qt.vitalstream.com/LionWitchWardrobe/LionWitchWardrobe_BehindMagic_1500.movPS- it takes FOREVER to load so be patient, oh, and you have to have quicktime to view it. PPS- the guy who is actually playing Mr. Tumnus, James McAvoy, is interestingly enough Scottish. *waves Scotland flag* GO SCOTS!!!!!!

Peter Pan is evil. And a player.
But Jeremy Sumpter would be quite good as Caspian, who I happen not to like much, either. I like the Lesser Known Narnia books, such as The Horse and His Boy and The Last Battle. Good times...

Ah, I loved 'The Last Battle'. I liked the idea that even in a place as perfect as Narnia seems, things can go wrong... but my favourite has to be Dawn Treader, even if it is just because of the dufflepuds.

I can't see how they'd turn it into a film though. It follows quite a religious subtext, and is slightly anti-climactic for a film...

well most of them have religious subtext anyway. *grin* but I see what you mean... and it would be kind of hard to wrap it all up in a way that would satisfy the audience.... *shrug* I guess we'll just let them decide!

No kidding...
Tolkien also has a lot religious 'sub-text'. It wasn't meant to be allegorical, but so many people take it that way that it might as well have been.
Which is sort of obnoxious, because it really isn't. And I've read a lot of allegories *coughlionwitchandthewardrobecough*

well hey, both men were Christians. *shrug* I know from experience that it's hard not to keep elements of yourself out of your writing, and whether you like it or not, something that resembles who you are is going to creep in. I wouldn't neccesarily say Lewis's or Tolkien's writings were alegorical, but I can say that I find some pretty striking resemblences with some of their work and the Christian faith. And that appeals greatly to me, because, since I'm a Christian, I can relate to it.

I have nothing against religious subtexts - I just can't see how the Last Battle could have a film-worthy ending.
It's released at the end of this year! YAAY!
