Yes, Shieldzup wins! 100 POINTS! (theme music plays) And you, Miss Shieldzup will carry on until the next round of Star Wars QUOTES! Thank you, thank you...
Morgoth: Shut up.
Shadow: Humph. Anyhow, try using around the quotes-- it looks a bit better. Hunh? Mean quote-- must... get it... someday...

Here, I'll fix it...
Any chance that you could tell us whether it's from the books or movies?
Uhhh... *randomally guesses, after she attempts to read the number...* Isn't that Threepio in ESB about the odds of them surviving the astroid field...? If I'm wrong, don't mind me, I'm the LotR quote fanatic.

Nooo....Threepio's estimate of their odds flying through the Hoth asteriod belt are 6473 to one. I don't remember such a large number as 3263827 ever coming up...but then, it was probably an approach vector or something...heh.

Ihate to say it, but it looks like this number of yours doesn't exist. No, actually, even I can't find it-- and I was watching Star Wars yesterday-- not all of them, though.
Just a guess, but is it from ESB?

is it the odds of Han winning his 6th hand of Sabatch in a row?

That's sabacc *hiss*, and I do not think they were playing that ever in the movies-- Shieldzup?

Post by Jandalf on Toast on Jul 26, 2004 17:54:17 GMT -5
No, they don't play sabacc in the movies...they do play dejarik, though.
Bum-ba-dum...IDIOT'S ARRAY!!! Heehee.
I cannot think of 3263827 ever popping up. But while we're thinking, here's another one:
"Just what I always wanted."

THEY PLAY IT IN THE BOOK, Han wins a planet by beating a warlord at 8 straight hands of Sadacc

That would be in 'the Courtship of Princess Leia', where Han plays against the female Drackmarian warlord and wins Dathomir, and it's spelled "sabacc". Han also plays sabacc in the Han Solo Trilogy to win the Falcon from Lando, and he plays a very interesting version on the planet Onadax in 'Force Heretic: Reunion' while he's looking for one of the Ryn. (winks) That's probably not all of the times he plays, but those are the ones I can remem-ber at the moment.
But anyway, the point I was trying to make was they don't play it in the movies. Sorry for not clarifying.

Point made, and taken, dear Jandalf. Now, is anyone able to guess either quote? That is, after all, the point here--and I am the moderator of this board-- as you very well know...

its kinda funny what you come up with! vector? it's not that hard. it's in ANH. now go watch it. its good for you anyway. "just what i always wanted" is by Han i think...though at this moment i don't think i can tell you when/where.

...I am ashamed to say, I do not own a copy of ANH at the moment...sigh. For the life of me, I can't recall that number coming up. Is it a stormtrooper callsign? WHAT ON KESSEL IS IT!!??!!
Ergh. Anyway, shieldzup, you get fifty points for getting the right character. Whoever gets the place and movie will get the remaining fifty.
And by the bye, Shadow, I'm also a mod here...heh.

Sigh...
I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! I DO!!! You actually got the number wrong-- you added a diget, Shieldzup-- it's actually 326827, and it's Han Solo through the comlink to Threepio in the Garbage Chute scene-- the number is the location of the chute!!!!
And I don't own ANH either, but that doesn't stop me...

Post by Tiana, eh? on Jul 30, 2004 20:10:51 GMT -5
No, it's Han. *stubborn* Luke was talking to Threepio, and didn't know where they were, so he asked Han. It's HAN who says it... well... we'll let Shieldzup say which is right.

Ooooooh...THAT makes sense. Heh. (smacks self) Well...I suppose I shall pump out another quote for you guys.
"They're moving to attack position. Shields up!"
Fifty points for the name, twenty-five for the situation, and another twenty-five for the name of the starship that the speaker is on.
