Scourge of the Seven Seas
(A POTC fanfiction)
(The persons the make up Poppet do not in any way shape, form, or fashion own POTC or any of the canon characters. The original characters and the plot are however workings of Poppets mind.)
Prologue
Clouds drifted lazily over the Black Pearl as it forged its way through the gentle mists covering the dark water. Few stars pierced the hazy sky and lanterns were needed to shed enough light to navigate through the dangerous sea. A gentle breeze lifted the sails and pushed the Black Pearl further into the smothering darkness. Even though night had fallen, life was teeming onboard the drifting ship. The sails hung slack on the three masts and the ship was barely moving on the power that the wind provided. A small figure stood on the starboard side of the ship gazing over the black water. On closer inspection one could see that it was in fact a woman. Her honey-gold curls hung down her back in a luxurious cascade that was heaven made for moonlight to play in. Blue eyes searched for the unattainable beneath the rolling waves. Her left hand rubbed the wood railing of the ship absently. A gleaming new ring sat on the fourth finger, proclaiming for all to see that she was now a married woman. Forever more bound to one man-until eternity ended she was to be his wife. What had possessed her to do such a thing? Marrying a pirate-tying herself to a life of seclusion at sea, she had to admit now after the fact it was a very foolish thing to do. But there was no going back, no undoing what was already done. An arm slipped around her slender waist and her hair was lifted from the back of her neck. “Elizabeth, darling aren't you cold?” She turned and gazed into the deep brown eyes that had once held her so captive. The night wind held a bit of a chill but she hadn't noticed until that moment. “I'm fine Will, really. I just want to stay on deck just a while longer.” She smiled and gazed over his shoulder at the dim circle of light cast by the lantern. “It's so strange to be at sea-so different.” Her voice was soft and quiet as the wind that was whispering through the sails. Will nodded and kissed her gently on her high white forehead. “As you wish my darling. Just don't stay out too long. I don't want you to become ill.” Elizabeth smiled slightly and turned towards the water once again. They had been married 3 months.
