Anyone else here ride horses?
Right now I have two horses, but I usually only ride my horse Shanya. She's a solid sorrel paint mare.
A long time ago I started out English, but switched to western. Now I do a lot of speed work like barrels and pole bending. I also love herding cattle and my friend is going to teach me how to calf rope soon.
I also LOVE trail riding. I could trail ride all day!
I'll try to remember to post a pic of my horse later.

I don't have a horse, but I love horses! My friend has a chestnut named Dandy, and she let me ride him once. Other than that, I don't get to do a lot of riding.

I've never been that much into horses, that was always my sister's thing, but I find that I'm liking them more and more, maybe I'll get one after I move out... which won't happen for a very long time..

I don't have my own horse but I used to ride at the local riding stables. I did a lot of jumping and dressage work, as well as flatwork schooling. Used to love it, although I can't afford it at the moment.
There was one 15hh mare called Honey that the stables had just bought and I was asked to ride her first since she had only just arrived. I jumped on, double checked the tack then set off. Anyway, we were okay at walk, trot was almost a disaster when she started broncking but I managed to calm her down and then she seemed alright for a while. I tried to push her into canter and she went insane. Bucking, rearing, broncking, bolting, flat out gallop over the five-and-a-half-foot jumps that had been set up by the people in the school before me, you name it. Somehow I stayed on, calmed her down and cooled her off. Two days later she threw off a trained riding teacher: the lady broke her collar bone in four places. Honey was sold to people who know how to sort that kind of mess out.
