*snek* Yes. Each week, if it's okay with the mods and all, I'll post a fact, or a question, or just a musing. I've wanted to do this for a long time... First one: Cows can go up the stairs, but not down. No idea why. Why do you think?

This thread has my approval.
I am thinking it is because maybe a cow's spinal cord is not flexible, therefore making it impossible to go down stairs because their spine's cannot bend. Am I right?

I actually have no idea. If you can find out, then, go you!
Not quite a week, but what the heck!
A lot of people probably know this, but here it is all the same. The arrows that Leggy shoots in the LOTR movies were put in by CGI. He never actually shot arrows on set.

That's probably a good thing. I mean, we wouldn't want him impaling anyone now, would we?
I was just guessing about the cows because I know it's the same with horses.

Okay, I KNOW the word Domran came from Rivendell, but WHAT does it mean?! I know it's got the switchit from random, but WHAT is it, and where did it come from?!
(I was thinking it is Dom Ran... snicker... though it's also probably from ranDOM... hm? And Dom being LotR actor and all that...)

Can others post random thingies too, if they wish? Or are you running a monopoly here? In which case I completely understand. (winks)

Sure, I guess, but don't do one every day, I mean, one occasionally is fine. Even nice. Another domran: Mickey Mouse was originally going to be called Mortimer, but, thanks to the brilliancy of Walt Disney's wife, he is not. Can you tell I just got back from Disney World? *grins*

Well, yeah, I guess, but it was kind of tiring and my parents spent a lot of money, so it was kind of overylayed with this guilty feeling... *sigh* I wish I could be a kid again, sometimes.

Today is Star Wars...
Mark Hamill held his breath for so long during the trash compactor scene that he broke a blood vessel in his face. Subsequent shots are from one side only.

Yeeew.... He shoulda sued. I don't know why he shoulda sued, but I think he should have. I RODE THE STAR WARS RIDE AT DISNEYLAND! It's one of my favorite rides, besides Indiana Jones and the Haunted Mansion. I got stuck in both Indy and Haunted Mansion once. It was creepy, especially in the Mansion. Our little chair things got stuck in the room where the ghosts are waltzing on the floor below you. In Indy, the ride froze right before the little jeep jumps underneath the gigantic boulder that is rolling towards you. Indy swung by on a rope and yelled "Look Ou--" and froze in midair. The boulder stopped too. It was amusing.

During the filming of FOTR, Liv Tyler left her pair of prosthetic ears on the dashboard of her car. When she returned they had melted.

Christmas fact to get us in the mood...
In the days of yore, when our parents were young and LOTR was a book for students and thought not to be good, Santa was generally drawn with a green suit.
The red suit only started being used after Coca-Cola changed its cans from green to red, and so started drawing him with a red suit, and therefore so did everyone else. Now everyone assumes he wears red.
Power of commercialism...

Right, I haven't done this in a while. Here's a good one...
The tattoo that Orlando Bloom got on his right wrist during "The Lord of the Rings" is covered throughout most of the film. It's visible during the swordfight in the blacksmith shop when Will raises his sword to parry after Jack's "You're not a eunuch, are you?" and again below decks on the Interceptor where Elizabeth reveals she took the medallion and Will realizes it was his blood the pirates need to lift the curse - you can see it just as he reaches to touch the medallion on her chest.
