Dear American Citizen,
I am writing to you because of a tragedy that happened four years ago. I am talking about 9/11.
Now, I wasn't big into politics before this happened, so I don't remember much. What I do remember was that there was some division caused by the election. About a year later, the terrorists struck. They hi-jacked four airplanes, and flew them towards New York City and Washington D.C.
They flew one plane into each of the World Trade Center towers, and one into the Pentagon. The fourth never hit a target. The passengers on the last plane tried to take back the plane. The last plane crashed into the ground in Pennsylvania. The people of America united against the Terrorists, and waged war on them.
Those passengers died for freedom. They gave their lives for the lives of others. That's what our soldiers are doing over in Iraq, dieing for our freedom and the freedom of the Iraqi people. We would be selfish to want our soldiers to pull out and not fight anymore. Yet there are people who protest the war. Those soldiers are over there because they choose to risk their lives for a cause they believe in. They die for that cause willingly, and I believe some people lose sight of that.
Just recently, the largest natural disaster that has hit the US hit about a week ago. It crashed into New Orleans, flooding it. Thousands of people died, not only in Louisiana but in Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri. Once again, America has united in a war, not against other people, but for the survival of other Americans.
It seems kind of obvious that every time we start to fall apart, some disaster happens to bring us together. God is trying to unite the US. This country was formed to worship God. It was built on God. We need to remember that in everything we do, as people and as a country.
Don't forget why our soldiers are fighting. Why they are dying. Stand together against what ever comes at us, and even in between. When the reason for the war that is currently going on is old news, stand together. If we can stand as a nation when there is nothing to fight, then nothing can knock us down, but if we don't stand together in peace, war may knock us down from behind.
Remember...We do it for them...For freedom. May God bless you, and God Bless America!
Sincerely,
Foral McDerson Windu
So what does everybody think? I wrote this spur-of-the-moment from the heart, and it isn't meant to offend anyone. If you are in the group that think that this war is wrong, I didn't mean to offend you, this is just where I stand.
