I vote George Bush. But I really don't know anything about Hilary Clinton. All I know is she has a bad rep. but, as we all know, reps aren't always correct. I just wanna know.. what'd she do? I think I remember something from a while back.. but can't remember.

George Bush, definitly. I don't know what Hillary did, but I would still go for Bush. At least I know he prays before making decisions... And I'm also glad of his stance against abortion...

All right, politics are all right on MEI, but please keep them calm. No flaming. Please, and thanks. And please explain why you're against H.C.. Us Canadians don't understand. Heh. At least, I don't.

Um...most of my political standing was based on where my parents stand. I have gnerated my own opinions, however. I know nothing of Hillary Clinton, except that she was the First Lady in the 90's. But what I do know, is that Bush has done a good job in the office.

I know the general facts surrounding the whole Clinton mess and everything, but I'm interested to know specifically why you call Hillary a backstabber, Jawaking...anyone else, feel free to answer, too...I'd like to hear the take on it from an American point of view.

Um, sorry if it seemed like I was flaming... I totally wasn't, I swear! I will say, though, that there are many Americans who feel it necessary to aggresively defend their candidates and, basically, flame those apposing. It's sad, especially when it's a teacher in the middle of class. What makes it worse is when you feel like you are the ONLY person supporting Bush and you feel like you will get your head torn of if you so much as HINT to how you feel.
The reasons I support Bush mainly rest on what my pastor has told us about him (he's been to the White House and spoken with the president several times). From where I'm standing, it seems like Bush is a godly man who is trying to do the best for his country. And, like I said, it is nice to know that he most likely consults God when making descisions. Now, that does in now way mean Bush is perfect, but I still support him.
As for Hillary, heaven knows WHAT she would do if elected president... I really hope that there is a good candidate running for president next time around!

Very true...so do I. The leadership of America has influence on a lot more countries than just America, that's for certain. Iraq and Afghanistan and all them would certainly feel it, but besides that...Canada's right next door. It's just over a half hour drive and I'm in the States. Which is why I feel a little out of it if I don't know what's going on...and I don't really have a good answer myself as to why Hillary's got the bad reputation in the first place...

...I'm a female and if she makes president I'm moving to Canada. it doesn't look like flaming yet so I think things are clear here.
I just want to know what the point of this thread is since Bush cannot run again. *Whom I voted for by the way*

GO HILLARY GO!
Ahem.
;D
But I'm glad to hear the POVs here...and I especially like them when they're backed up with a person's own knowledge and experience... It's never good enough for me when someone says "well, my mom/dad/teacher/mentor of some kind said..."
I looked up a few sites on Hillary Clinton, both in favour and against her, and from what I can see she has the typical balance of pros and cons for a politician of almost any brand, really. She seems to be somewhere in between liberal and conservative, which is favourable for myself for some reasons, and not for others. I might not like Bush that much personally, but I am very grateful that he's apparently a Christian.

To me I see her as a highly ambitious person. Her ambition is what makes her...unwanted to me. Being a voting age woman (albeit wishing I was a male) I think that such ambition is a bad thing in a country's figure head. *they aren't rulers because presidents HAVE NO power* And I feel if Hilary made president she would change the fact in the comment in asteriks above. But then...that is just me. Goodness knows people up here in New Bloody England disagree with me in the extreeme...Librals! All of them! *tbhhhhhhhhhhhh*

Weird how that happens, as a general rule...Tories in the west, Liberals in the east... (considers)
But agreement on the ambition issue. It's good to have passion, but some of the best leaders are people who never wanted to be leaders in the first place. They tend to keep their heads screwed on right.

LIke this thing I found in my email?
At last. A bumper sticker for both parties.
FINALLY, someone has come out with a 100% bipartisan political bumper sticker.
The hottest selling bumper sticker comes from New York state. "RUN HILLARY RUN" Democrats put it on the rear bumper. Republicans put it on the front bumper.
