My major was going to be history, but then God nudged me in this direction, so now I'm on my way to becoming an equine vet. I'm REALLY excited about it! I went to this woman's house yesterday who briefly gave me horseback riding lessons a long time ago, and I got so much information! She is even taking me today when she clips wome horses out at a ranch. And I got the number to an equine vet who might let me follow her around all day to get some experience so I'll know what I'm getting into. And I get to go mess around with the woman's horses too!
The hard part is going to be all the math and science. I have to take Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Calculus based Physics, about two years of Chemistry, and at least a year and a half of Biology, and Statistics. Not to mention 9 units of Humanities/Social sciences, and English 1B. And I just remembered I need to check and see if I need two semesters of a foreign language. So yeah, I'm in for it...

I have the worst teacher EVER... he's sexist. plus he hates homeschooling, and since I was homeschooled up until this year, he makes life difficult for me. do they sell voo-doo dolls for teachers? I have quite a large collection of thumb screws I need to put to good use.

No, just leave him alone. I am not keen on homeschooling either. But, I shall keep the rest of my thoughts to myself since I want to keep my friends on here and not loose them.
My college thoughts. Well, I don't know if I want to stay in country or not. If I stay in country I don't know if I want to go to college in NY, NJ or go to some random place like OK. I do have some time before I have to decide luckily. -_-'

Started spring semester today. I like my Engligh 1B professor. He's MUCH better than the last one, but that isn't very hard. My chemistry teacher seems a bit... unstable, shall we say. She's a bit old, and she holds on to stuff like she's going to fall over. She said she lets us use our periodic tables and a page of notes for quizzes and exams, so that's neat. I already know my Geometry teacher, and he's alright...
So, basically, the worst thing about school right now is the parking, which is impossible after 7:30 AM...

Trinity, that's interesting that you want to be an equine vet. Do you have any horses?
Everyone always tells me I should be an equine vet. While I love horses, I don't think I want to deal with the people that have them. A lot of horse people (The ones in NJ at least) at nasty, stuck up, and baby their horses just a little bit too much. I also have a problem dealing with other peoples' horses. I don't get nervous around them, but I know how my horse is going to react and I can read what she's thinking from her movements and actions (I've had her for around 8 years now) I can't do that with other people's horses and a lot of the horses around here are so badly mannered. I supposed if I moved out to texas or somewhere with a ton of ranches, that job would be much more appealing to me. I am interested in veterinary medicine though. What made you want to go in that direction?
I'm in a bit of a dilemma right now. I've realized that I can do pretty much anything I want. I've also realized I have a whole life in front of me in which I will make decisions, make mistakes, and just generally live. A career will last a good 40 to 50 years. I just don't know if I want to work in a vet's office for all those years working on animals. I think I may need to do something where I am constantly moving about, and potentially doing something where I give the orders. I'm so lost. There's not many jobs that fit that job description. I am thinkng of perhaps pursuing psychology and going into forensic psychology. I enjoy that, but how exicting would that be?
I dont know...

Actually, no I do not have horses. I haven't been on a horse for years, either. But I want to be a vet, and I feel like God led me to horses. I've always loved them, and I know some people who have about 7 of them and they let me come by and spend some time around them, so I've been blessed. Doors have actually really opened for me, so I'm trusting that He's taking me in the right direction. As you mentioned, some horsey people CAn be stuck up, but I think you would have to keep in mind that you are there for the horse, not for them. Besides, they might pay well... I'm totally kidding. And as for the area you would work, there are pretty much horses everywhere. I live in SoCal, and it's pretty populated, but I can drive 20 miles and it's farmland and there are a lot of horses. You're pretty much open to work wherever, and there will always be a demand.
If you choose to be a vet of any kind, be prepared for a lot of math and science! I feel like I'm already up to my eyeballs...

Are you in college?
I'm taking a ton of math right now in HS. I don't neccesarily like math very much. I don't like physics either. I do like biology though. Chances are I'll end up doing something involving animals. I've always been around them. I've mostly been researching veterinarian majors as far a colleges go, but who knows. I'm the type of person you'd see doing the strangest of jobs.

I'm in junior college. Not quite to a four year yet, but I'm working towards it (JCs are WAY cheaper than four years, so I'm trying to get as much done there as possible). I'll probably end up at Cal Poly Pomona because they have a pre-vet program specifically for people who want to do horses. Then I'll be up at UC Davis, the only vet school on the west coast. So, basically, I hope to be a vet in about 8 years...

A vet in 8 years?! That is a long time. I will have been a teacher for.. *counts* 2 years. Maybe even a parent.. Wow, that is sorta scary..
Anyways, yesterday I went to schedule for next year. I am nervous cause, I know the next year is going to go by quickly and I will be sitting in the guidance counselor's office again, figuring out what I am going to take senior year. Of course, I already know what I am taking senior year, but that is beside the point.
