Of course, I mean the SAT and the SAT IIs. (To those lucky people who didn't have to take the SAT IIs... I envy you.)
It's a rite of passage to take the SAT, but like any rite, we don't have to enjoy it.
So who else thought it was annoying and a waste of time? And that the essay question was( no, not going to say what it was, only that it was) ....STUPID? What fried your brains and what did you rock in? And do you think it's a pointless test, or do you disagree entirely?

I've never taken the SAT. XD. What was your essay question? I've seen some interesting people's replies on Jedi.net on what they got and what they wrote.

I loved my essay for my last one. That was pretty much the best test I've ever taken in my life. I didn't do that bad the first time I took it, but all of my scores went up the second time. And my essay rocked.
I'll quit blabbing about how great my stupid writing is, because I honestly wasn't that impressed. But Sydney Carton can get you very far in life. Believe me. I have to thank him for my eleven...

ELEVEN ?!?!?! O.O That's AWESOME, Dun!!! Bravo! .... And who, pray tell, is Sydney Carton? I got an eight. Higher than I thought I would. The question SUCKED, if you ask me.... So vague and ambiguous, asking 'How can this possibly be aruged? ' *sigh* The challenges of political -correctness.... Unfortunately, we can't say what it is, because we swore in blood that we wouldn't, lest we gave some one a head start. Since I don't want the College Board to come down upon the heads of innocent ME:Iers, I would rather we abide by the rules and wait until the year has passed, so we don't have to deal with that.

He's in A Tale of Two Cities. I currently have him to thank for... *counts* Four scholarship essays. Heh.
Technically, you can talk about you essay twelve hours (I believe) after the test, because that pretty much covers all of the US time zones. At the very least, you're allowed to get into it after you get your scores back.
My first essay was an eight. Bad question, as well. And I really didn't know how to write an essay. AP English has pretty much saved my butt, as to that whole affair... I now think in essays..

What's the marking system you go by? Highest score, etc.? I don't think I've heard of this one... only the standardised GPA that hypothetically (and sometimes actually) goes up to 5.

For the SAT, or regular GPA? SAT stuff is weird... you get separate scores for everything... the essay is scored out of six by two judges, then your scores are combined. I got a five from one judge, and a six from the second, hence eleven.
If that helped at all...

Oh come on, just a little hint?! I have to take SAT's in May and I don't think College Board would be too upset.. lol.. Okay maybe they would but still.. I am a little anxious now..

Hi ED!! Some great test taking stratagies are: Take several full length practice tests Think not about whether the answer is right or wrong, but about how much sense it makes to put that answer. Fill in the circles correctly Don't stress!! Study and practice until you're confident. It's not anything to be worried or stressed about. It's just a stupid test, and it's starting to count for even less. Hope that helps!
