We have no threads here, guys...
Dismount your steed and chat in the warm inn here...about the best story in the world, otherwise known as the Lord of the Rings. Or you can talk about the Hobbit or the Silmarillion/History of Middle-earth.
Cheers,

Haldir: Wonderful! I would like to say that the 'Haldir' in the Silmarillion is NOT me. Everyone Warious has talked to locally who 'read' it thinks that it was me but its not!!!
Warious: Calm down you koochoo elf! We get the picture. I'm sorry about him. he gets a little upset at being mistaken for a human.
I loved reading The Fellowship of the Ring.

Luke: Eowyn S.: No, you cannot play with the Smileys, Slave. Luke: Oh great, a new rank. Eowyn S.: NO RHYMES EITHER!!!!! There was no rhyme...though the admonition sounds suspiciously like Princess Bride....or is that just me? *ducks rotten vegetables for going way off topic*

(Plays with rotten garlic nervously) It was close enough to a rhyme! (Looks at Luke, and target practices with him) *After pulling up the web dictionary...* Yes, I suppose it did sound like the Princess Bride. Great movie, though I hate the ROUS's and the Torture scene... If you haven't seen it, go and see it. Older movie, but still good. (Runs away while angry people chase her with shaving cream...) AAAAAAaaaaahhhhh... I'm sorry for going off topic. Luke: You are a moderator. Bad example! Anakin: *Plants 152763 garlic plants for no reason* Eowyn S.: Akk! Akk! Help! Hey, how many people here have read Farmer Giles of Ham??? It's kinda like the Hobbit, but the dragon is different... Luke: Drat, she is back on topic... Oh well, just commenting. -Eowyn Skywalker Luke: Eowyn S.: Hmmm... ah yes, here.

I have indeed read Farmer Giles. Have you read Leaf by Niggle?
And yes, Princess Bride is a great movie.

Note: Never ever watch The Princess Bride with a romantic elf near by. particularly if he is 'madly in love' with you. And don't watch That weird kid with the glasses... what's his name? Peeves: Potty Wee Rotter. either. J.R.R. Tolkin is Supreem. J.K. Rowling is not.
Has any one read Ella Enchanted? That book was so awesome! And now they're doing a movie on it.
Also good reads are the Princess Diary books. Meg Cabot is an excelent writer.
Haldir: I like reading those shakespear books you have.
Boba: Hey those are mine!
Warious: Uh oh.

J.R.R. Tolkien is indeed a Great Writer - supreme, if you will - and J.K. Rowling is nowhere near his class...but the HP books aren't so bad. They're not my favourites, but I have nothing against them, and they make a good read...

No I haven't, sadly. I want to though. I'm sorry, but I have everything against HP. Nothing against the fans, Elentari the Second, if they don't spend all their time talking about how cool Daniel R. is. I know, one of my friends is an HP fan... sigh. But I still hate HP stuff.
I want to read all of Tolkien's books, but I'm too busy reading the New Jedi Order at the moment.
LOTR rules!!!

Luke: She ducttaped me to a chair... help.

I don't think Daniel's cool at all, so we're safe as far as that's concerned. I had a semi-crush on Tom Felton (Draco) sometime last year, which lasted about 2 weeks...hey, it was the holidays, I was bored!!
Just curious - have you read the books, Eowyn? Although I agree with Warious, each to his (or her) own, I just want to know whether you've read them or not before judging them...you don't seem like that kind of person, but then you never know...
*everyone starts yelling at Elentari the Second to shut up and stop rambling*
Anyway, we have Adventures of Tom Bombadil, and I read a poem or two, but I've mislaid the book, so.....it'll turn up eventually....
Cheers,

I watched one movie, and that was enough. That weird kid with the glasses... what's his name? Peeves: Potty Wee Rotter. freaked me out... otherwise I'd've read the books.
I'll stick to LOTR, thanky. Oh, and Star Wars too! -Eowyn Skywalker

I have all of the NJO books and In the last one DAD is in there.
Boba: She means me.
Warious: duh. Any way....I definatley agree with Eowyn I like LotR and SW.
P.S. I had a weird dream about Professor Snape for no reason.

I loved that last NJO book... I don't own any of them though... sigh.
That's so cool that Boba was in it... I just loved that book. And when did Boba Fett become your father?!
Sigh, I guess we should discuss the finer points of the New Jedi Order in the SW discussion area, ehhh? Must create one for the NJO books.
LOTR rules... though I dunno... SW has come pretty darn close to taking it's place...
I was dreaming about Palpatine and Sauron meeting... guess where I find much inspiration...lol.
Keep talking, peoples.
-Eowyn Skywalker
Luke: *whisper* Can someone save me from her?!
Eowyn S.: I heard that.

Maybe I will save you, Luke...nah...I'm leaving you to Eowyn's tender mercies after all...
Hey, Eowyn, the HP movies aren't very close to the books. Of course, others may disagree with me and you may still be freaked out, but I wouldn't advise judging the books by the movies...

Heheh. I'll go start one right now if there already isn't.
No you shouldn't judge a book by the movie or vice versa. But I don't appreciate HP because it is Witchcraft. The TEXT Wizards I approve of are the Istari kind.
Haldir: Even then you don't like them.
Warious: *to Haldir* Hush you. *to eeveryone else* I've always been Boba Fett's daughter. I'll write about it some time.

There's a thread in the Barrowdowns somewhere discussing witchcraft in the Chronicles of Narnia, HP, and LOTR in detail...some quite interesting and controversial views...I can't remember what it was called though. ~ Elentari II P.S. I've found it: forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=6078

I think I'll avoid HP for now though... some things freak me out really fast... torture scenes, and Witchcraft scenes being high on that list. I can't stand the scene in LOTR where Gollum is being tortured... nor the one in the Princess Bride.
Call me a wimp if you want... but it's true, I can't stand things llike that.
But it is true, never judge things that you know nothing about. So therefore I won't bash the That weird kid with the glasses... what's his name? Peeves: Potty Wee Rotter. books. Only the movies. *Shivers*
-Eowyn Skywalker
Luke: SOMEONE, PLEASE!!! HELP ME!!!!
Eowyn: Ah, shut up, Jedi fool.
