Yeah, but I was looking forward to seeing Shelob in TTT at the end of 2002, only I had to wait until the end of 2003 (ROTK).
Though I suppose it would have been horrible for those who hadn't read the book if Shelob had been in TTT....

Indeed, you are right.
If you didn't read the book, you would've been in suspence, with Frodo, and all that. Can't say more... spoilers... heh.
Oh well, I must admit that I too, wanted to see Shelob in the Two Towers too.
Warious, have you read the books... by any chance. We all know that Shelob was in the RotK movies... but in the books (for the uninformed) she was in the Two Towers.
-Eowyn Skywalker
Luke: I really don't like you using my name.
Eowyn S.: I really don't like you being my coauthor.
Luke: Then give me my lightsaber back.
Eowyn S.: No, I like yours!

I know that Shelob belongs in TTT. But I understand why Jackson had to put it in RotK. I have read the books I love Tolkein's poetry in particular it is beautifull.

Okay, just checking.
Tolkien was a good poet, I'd guess. (Quotes poem about Aragorn in the back of mind...)
Sigh, I wish PJ would've added more of Tokien's songs, and stuff.
-Eowyn Skywalker
Luke: She's crying over the lack of songs?!?!?!
Eowyn: Be quiet, and let me type.
Luke: That's the price you pay with having a CoAuthor.

I like PJ's version, but it is really different than the books. You can't like them if you expect them to be a perfect book to movie adaptation. I keep the two seperate from each other in my head . The books are great because of the poetry and stuff, they're just so wonderful to read, and the movies are cool because it's more modern language (though we don't get to see Legolas sing at all, while he made the books a veritable musical), plus they've got the awesome war scenes. Meh, they're both just so wonderful!

Hi, just found out stuff about the ROTK extended edition. Thought I'd share them with the world. There is: Frodo and Sam in their Orc disguises joining the column of Orcs as they march out of Mordor. The Houses of Healing - showing Aragorn healing Faramir and the others, and out on the balcony thing, where Eowyn falls for Faramir (YAY! Fave bit in the books!) A lot more looks at the siege of Minas Tirith. Frodo and Sam venture into the Crossroads and seeing the old statue. The Mouth of Sauron rides out of the Black Gate and presents Frodo's mithril coat to the Fellowship (again, YAAY!) Aragorn reveals himself to Sauron by approaching the Palantir in Minas Tirith and wields Anduril to show that the Heir of Elendil was alive. Saruman talks to the Fellowship, and apparently fires a giant fireball from his staff that engulfs Gandalf on Shadowfax - and, of course, his death scene. There's more of Frodo and Sam in Mordor after they join the column of Orcs and before they discard their disguises. In one scene, Sam looks to the dark sky of Mordor and tells Frodo that he can see light as one little star can be seen glimmering through the clouds. Gandalf facing down the Witch King! Gandalf holds up his staff the Witch King pulls out his sword and holds it to the sky where it spouts flames. As he brings it down, the air around the burning sword is distorted. There's a nice scene of Pippin and Faramir in Gondor where Faramir explains to the Hobbit how the small Gondorian armor he was wearing belonged to a young son of the Steward when he was a kid. Faramir further explains how Boromir was always the soldier and he wasn't. The Paths of the Dead is extended from where it ends in the theatrical cut. After Aragorn poses his offer, the dead laugh and go back into the walls. A massive earthquake starts, and the Three Hunters must escape an avalanche of millions of skulls.... is it just me, or are you REALLY glad that was cut out? A new version of when Pippin finds Merry - he actually searches the battlefield for an entire day while the others all go into the city, and finds Merry at night. And also, on the appendices, it has an abandoned concept of Aragorn fighting Sauron at the Black Gate, instead of a troll. And on the commentaries, Andy Serkis does both a Gollum AND a Smeagol commentary! CAAAN'T WAAAAIT! As a warning, it's going to be 250 minutes long... that's 4 hours ten minutes... Still, DECEMBER 14TH!!! Rani, half half

What I really want to see is the Scouring of the Shire. But it seems like that won't happen.

Well, they can't really have it considering they kill of Saruman at Isengard in the EE. Pity, though. Maybe in the LOTR 100th anniversary edition they can add it - yeah, CGI Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin... what a weird thought...
