Who here thinks the representation of the battle was unfair? Let's see... looking at the battle, Faramir killed a few orcs, Madril killed a few orcs, the archers killed a few orcs, and roughly a legion of Gondor's finest soldiers was wiped out!
About Gondorian armor:
"The skill of the Gondorean blacksmiths at that time meant that they could produce plate armor that was lighter yet stronger than the chain mail of their Numenorean ancestors, to the point that a one-handed sword would be ineffective against it. However, an axe, mace, or other heavy weapon could still smash or cut through it, causing fatal damage."

About the Rangers of Ithilien:
"If the enemy numbers were small enough, the Ranger might move in to try and finish them off by sword, although the primary consideration was to preserve the numbers of the Ranger company, as these men were seasoned veterans who would be difficult to replace from the rank and file garrisoned within Minas Tirith. Being a Ranger was considered the most dangerous posting in all of Gondor; their number included only the most loyal and most skillful warriors." (emphasis added)

Well? Someone else think the orcs had too easy of a time?
