"No, maybe you're right." He replied. "I might go, if not to see how they act now then to face them, not in combat, but to prove that I am unafraid."

Kaklyn nodded, running water between her fingers. "Admirable. Very admirable. I can go at any time; if you wish to, ask. There is but one prior arrangement...and it can be worked in. Do you have a ship of your own?"

"A corralskipper." He said shortly. "Nothing big, I've had no use for anything larger than one."

"Me too. Heh, it is a good companion though. Strong." She laughed with memory. One of her more pleasant memories...strange.

((I have been here all along…you just didn’t notice me, muaHA! )) "I might go, if not to see how they act now then to face them, not in combat, but to prove that I am unafraid." Dublik’s mind snapped back to present reality. Should have been listening, I suppose... She had followed Tyrsis to the water, but at a distance, removing the possibility that she would have to speak to the stranger. Now she wondered if it would not have been better to stay where she could have heard the first part of their conversation. ”to prove that I am unafraid”...why should he be afraid? The thought seemed terrible. Dublik could not remember a time since the death of her twin that she had been unafraid. But Tyrsis was not afraid. He is The Protector. She glanced at his face for reassurance. Wherever it was that he was thinking of going, she was sure she did not want to go. But going would be better than being alone.

Tyrsis just realized that Dublik had been following him, something she did often. He turned in the water and nodded to her, giving her a reassuring look. "You should tell me when you're going to be following me." He told her, much like a father or sibling would. "I wouldn't want to have you lose yourself somewhere."
He glanced over to Kaklyn where he introduced Dublik. "This is Dublik." He said. "She's in my service and..." He paused slightly. "she was a shamed one who was set free. Unfortunately she has issues that make it hard her to function in a full society, so I look after her."
He nodded to Dublik for he to come closer. "The waters nice if you want to swim or just wade in for a while." He said. "The shade's also cool as well."

Dublik took several deep breaths, letting the comforting words sink into her mind. "Thank you...I'm sorry, I..."
"I wouldn't want to have you lose yourself somewhere." She winced, thinking of what lay behind the warning, and Tyrsis' explanation to the stranger. Homeless. Friendless. No! There was no time for such thoughts. Faithless! Yes, now she will hate you, too.
Dublik ground her teeth and forced her mind to focus on reality. "I think I'll sit here in the shade, please..."

((I hope you realize Tyrsis isn't a bad guy, he's not the kinda person to hit or punish Dublik))
"Okay." He responded kindly. "Maybe after we can find something to eat, okay? If you feel like swimming at any time you can."

((Very good...I did realize.))
"Okay...thank you." He knows I can't go over there while the stranger is there. She sat down in the shade with a little sigh. She had learned to enjoy Tyrsis' company, but there were so few times when he was alone. She let her mind slip back into dreamlike abstraction.

Tyrsis turned to Kaklyn. "Excuse me." He said, wading out of the water and walking over to Dublik.
"Could you come with me?" He asked, gently lifting Dublik up by the arm and leading her out behind some trees, out of veiw.
((Sorry Red if this is going to bother you but you said that you weren't going to post much over the week, so I'm just doing this as a distraction))

"Wha--" Dublik's teeth snapped together. He's touching me...he's touching me... No! Change it, make it good. She took three quick breaths. He's helping me. He is The Protector. Good. He is allowed to touch.
She relaxed and let Tyrsis guide her away from the stranger. A few more seconds and she was able to manage a quick smile up at him. "What is it? I thought you were busy...?"

"No incredably busy, but I noticed you were uncomfortable. Kaklyn will wait I feel." He explained.
He sat her down on the ground and sat beside her. "Now do you want to share?" He asked, wanting to know what the matter was.

Breath...breath...breath... He wants to help you.
Dublik was ashamed to say what she felt, and frightened. But the stranger was more frightening, so she forced the words.
"No, I'm alright. I just...I don't need to be close to the Stranger, do I? It's just...it's hard for me to think...you know that. May I stay here, please? And you can tell me the things I need to know, but I don't want to have to talk to her!"
Now he will be disappointed... Her jaw tightened again. She was ashamed to sound so desperate. I know...this should be small.
"But it doesn't seem small to me!"

"Oh." He said outloud. "I see."
He realized that Dublik was like this, though it saddened him slightly. "Its okay Dublik," he said, holding her hand. "I promise you I won't make you talk to her and you can sit in the shade away from her, but I still need to be able to see you."
He smiled slightly, though it wasn't a great smile because his teeth were very pointed, like fangs. "Is there anything else?" He asked.

Dublik took a second to think over the compromise. I won't have to talk. But he needs to see me, so he can protect me. That was fair. That was logical. I will keep my logic, and I will be okay...breath...
"No...only...where do you want to go? You won't leave me...right?"
And why should you be afraid? She didn't ask that question. It felt sharp and ugly in her mouth.

"I might..." He stopped, his lips whitened visably because they were so tight. "I might be going to the Jedi Temple. And of course I won't leave you, I'd never leave you Dublik, I know you don't like to be left alone."

"But...why? Why should you want to go there?" She stiffened as she saw his expression, and her voice went low, "Is that a good idea?"
He wouldn't take you if it wasn't okay...
"I'm sorry...I know you think about things, but...it's not always easy for me to let you. I'm sorry..."

"We are no longer at war." He said. "As a nation at least. The jedi have no reason to attack us, so I should go to fulfil my ambassador duties."
He looked at Dublik. "And its okay, I know its hard for you, I understand."

He really thinks he does. Her eyes glazed over as she hid the sarcastic thoughts. You don't see the world I see...but that's good, I suppose.
"Okay. Okay, I just don't want anything to happen." That doesn't sound right. "I mean...I don't like it when things are different...I'm sorry!"
