I like a Series of Unfortunate Events. You really start to care about the characters.

If you like dragons and stuff Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke is really good. She did Inkheart as well. I just finnished it and I thought it was pretty long to be a childrens book.*** By the time it was over I just wanted it to end. I was going through an impatient stage, but it's good really and you should read it.
(***Side note: I work in a book store and that's where it gets shelved. Don't ask me why.) (The Wee Free Men by Pratchett gets shelved there too. Weird huh?)
Has anyone read the Warriors series? (Cats and stuff) (also kids series) I want to know if it's any good?
Also, Robert Jordan. Has anyone read any of him? My customers say the first few are good, but the rest aren't as good. Thoughts?

I read the first book of Warriors and it wasn't very good. It's obviously written for kids in the wording, and the storyline is improbable. Twas ok, but Tad Willams' Tailchaser if much better for cat stories.
Amin mela Inkheart! I just got the second book, Inkspell, and it looks to be written even better. There's oft awesome quotes in the headings of chapters.

True. Inkheart was what drew my attention to the Princess Bride, with its quotes at the top of the chapters.
And I agree about the length thing - it just KEPT ON GOING.
