Never heard of a Acorna. I'll have to look in the library for that. Right now I'm reading The Lovely Bones. Its about a young girl who was killed and she narrates from Heaven what happend to her friends, her family, and her killer. I got it from my book club. Heh.
I just finished reading the 3rd Artemis Fowl book. It is really good. Theres another book, not Artemis Fowl, but I can't reMiddle-earthian Agent the name. *runs to get book*. Ahh yes, The Supernaturlist.
Thank you Shadow for the summerizing of the first book. I'll summerize the next two books which happen to be sitting on my desk. heh
"At the start of the second adventure, Artemis is at boarding school in Ireland when he recieves an urgent video e-mail from Russia. In it is a plea from a man who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafiya-a man Artemis has thought he would never see again: his beloved father. As Artemis rushes to his rescue, he is stopped by a familiar nemisis, Captain Holly Short of the Leprecon fairy police. But this time, instead of battling the fairies, he is going to have to join forces if he wants to save one of th few people in the world he loves."
and the 3rd one which was my favorite of all.
"Artemis Fowl is going straight- as soon as he pulls of the most brilliant criminal feat of his career...atleast, that the plan when he attempts to sell his C Cube, a supercomputer built from stolen fairy technology, to Jon Spiro, one of the most dangerous business men in the world. But Spiro springs a trap-stealing the C Cube and mortally injuring someone Artemis is close to. Artemis's only hope of saving that person is to employ fairy magic; so once again he must contact his old rival, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon police. It's going to take a miracle to save the person, and Artemis's luck may have just run out.."
Those were both from the books, I left out the person's name in the last summary because I didn't want to give it away. heh..snrk.

I didn't like The Lovely Bones-- frankly, that book bothered me. I mean, she's DEAD, and all-- if it had just been the mystery surrounding finding her killer... yeah. *rolls eyes*
I'm getting a fresh batch of library books today-- on that list is Eragon, Artemius Fowl 2, and Tad Williams... now let's hope I can actually GET them, snrk.
Anyone read the Saga of Seven Suns by Kevin J. Anderson? Good writer, he is...

I HAVE SOME INFLUENCE IN THIS WORLD!!!
Bob: *backs away*
Dun: Oh, shut up....
Bob: *sighs*
And one of my friends might join this site, 'cause she was with me when I was on it last night, and she wanted to meet some 'normal' people. Her school must be really weird if she thinks we're normal....

I hope you enjoy Eragon. There's going to be 2 more in the Inheritance (sp?) trilogy. You can go to his official website if you like: alagaesia.com There you can learn how to pronounce the names and a little more about the land of Alagaesia. It is very much like LotR. It has elves, dwarves, men, and Urgals! Heh. Very good book. So far, I like The Lovely Bones, but thats just me. *looks at cluttered bookshelf* And to think, I have more books coming. I LOVE books. Heh. snrk. No, I just said it. ALL OF YOU ARE GETTING TO ME, I JUST SAID SNRK! wow.

Has anyone read "The Green Rider"?? It is realy cool!!!! The setting is kind of like middle-earth. Here is the summery: As Karigan G'ladheon,on the run from school, makes her way through the deep forest,a galloping horse plunges out of the brush ,its rider impaled by two black arrows. With his dying breath, he tells her he is a Green Rider, one of the king's special messengers. Giving her his green coat with its symbolic brooch of office,he makes Karigan swear to deliver thr messege he was carrying. Pursued by unknown assassins ,following a path only the horse seems to know ,Karigan finds herself thust into a world of danger and complex magic......
Well there's the summery. It has Elvish like beings in it,called "Eletians". They are usualy good ;but the "bad guy" in the story is an Eletian that went bad. Green Riders are kinda like Pony Exspress riders:but they work for the King.

Haven't read it. I'll have to look for it. We're going to Waldenbooks in the mall soon so I'll have to look for it. *Grabs notebook and pencil* Wow, I'm getting quite a list here. Has anyone ever read the T*Witches? Its a whole series. Lol. It's actually quite good.
Alex and Cam are twin witches who just found out about their powers. Their real names are Artemis, Alex, and Apollo, Cam. They have these really cool necklaces, Alex has a moon and Cam has a sun and when they put them together it enhances their power. Anyway, their evil uncle wants to kill them because with them about, he cant be the most powerful. He already killed their father and made their mother go crazy (currently shes in an insane assylum).
They are very good though. Heh. Babbling again.

That book sounds cool....I'll look for it in the library. .......If they have it!!!! Little librarys have no good books!!!!!!!!!!! The author to the Green Rider is Kristen Britain; she made a sequel, called the First Riders Call. Its pretty cool;the begining is realy exciting. Though I haven't finished it yet.

wow this thread is exciting!! ok Artemis Fowl is VERY COOL. also the Amulet of Samarkand, I love the perspective...anyone know when the next one's coming out?? i havn't heard of any of the other ones..oh i started Eragon and didn't finish it. It didn't hold me that well, it just wasn't unique enough to be interesting that long. didja know the kid who wrote it was 18?? i started a couple Anne McCaffrey novels to, but there's too much talk in them, too little dragons. i usually finish books, you guys just picked the wrong ones!! i read really fast. oh yeah speaking of Pern...THREAD!! BEWARE THE THREAD!! other stuff on my reading list: Redwall The Golden Compass SW novelizations. ANH absolutely rocks, the style's really cool. uhm... Kevin J Anderson. Dune!!

Uh, I'm not sure when the other Amulet book is coming out. I'm kinda sure there will be one. Hmm.
Christopher Paloni? Actually, I thought he wrote it when he was 15. Could just be my terrible memory. I enjoyed it. Not one of my absolute favorites *glances over at Tolkien collection.* But it was pretty good. Very much, maybe a little to much, like the LotR though. heh
Has anyone ever read the book Holes? I loved that book. So glad they made it into a movie. Some of my other ones are
Ella Enchanted The Two Princesses of Barmare (sp?) Where the Red Fern Grows Romeo and Juliet Reaching Dustin and I can't remember, to many books. Oh everything in the Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. heh

maybe it was 15. it was published at 18. yeah. and i know Amulet is gonna be a trilogy. I read Ella Enchanted. too romancy for me. R&J we covered in school...i think that tainted my enjoyment of it. I do like the style though...didn't finish Hamlet, but started it. Holes is definatly cool. The movie did a really good job of it too..i. have the soundtrack.

Yeah I know the Amulet is a trilogy, just read that on the back of the book. Lol.
I like Romeo and Juliet. Had to read it a second time though because I didn't quite understand it the best.
Yes, the movie for Holes was very good. Almost got it EXACTLY. Most movies aren't always like that...I said most!
If you ever get a chance, read The Fire Bringer. Thats another good book. There was also this other book I read. By the same person who wrote Fire Bringer. It was about a group of wolves there was a female named Pola or something like that and she had an evil sister named Morgra who was gifted with the power of "Sight" and she wanted to rule all of the wolves and eventually the world. Eventually Pola had to puppies, a black and a white one. They named the white one Larka and they found out she had the gift of sight and she needed to beat Morgra before she unleashed an undead wolf named Wolfbane.
Doesn't sound good but it really is. I think it just might be called The Sight or something like that. heh..go figure.

Which ones did you find, Eowyn? I think I've only read one of them that's a single novel.... but it was good.
I read the first chapter of Eragon at my friends house. Her brother was reading it, and I had nothing to do.... so I got hooked on it and never finished it, because no one that I know has it. Not even the library. Then again, my library is kinda dumb. It's Fantasy/Sci Fi (they're no the same, I tell you!) is really small. Like three shelves for all of it, small.
I have to finish the Wheel of Time series before I can read Tad Williams again *sniff* or else I get all confused. Ya ever tried reading four confusing fantasy books at the same time? Don't.

I loved the Fire Bringer! I think The Sight was the name too. Heh! I need to go to the library. I spend half my time in there, I even got a part time job there once.
I know. Ella Enchanted was really good. So funny, she's so clumsy..poor thing though. I'm so mad about the movie though.
How about Inside the Stone Circle? Pretty good book, can't really remember what it is about though. hmm.
