I don't really like the Dragonlance books, even though I never read all of them. Forgotten Realms is better.
I read the Elaine Cunningham one.... Elfsong, I think. 'Twas rather interesting. *is in love with Elaith Craulnober*
I'm reading Terry Goodkind right now, at the grand urging of one of my obsessed friends.... It's a little weird, and kinda gory at times. And the plots and characters sorta remind me of Robert Jordan.... though Danny would vehemently attack that claim.... They're interesting, and I had nothing else to read.

I LOVE ELFSHADOW!!! My favorite character is Danilo. Arilyn is cool too. I also like Wyn from Elfsong.

Our library doesn't have the Dragonlance book one, otherwise I would've read them. *mutter* And they do not have the Forgotten Realm books EITHER!!!! *more muttering*
I read a cool book called the Lightbearer's Daughter, or something of the like... that was interesting... really interesting.
At the moment, however, I am reading the Dune books! *cackles* If you like long, extended books that the only thing I could ever compair them to is LotR but in a Sci-fi sense, read Dune. Heck, read the first one anyway... they are interesting. SHE'S FORCE-SENSITIVE, I TELL YOU!!!!! JESSICA IS FORCE-SENSITIVE!!!!!!!! *is dragged away by random characters* NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Read the Dragonriders of Pern, if you like sci-fi/fantasy. Those are GREAT books!

I'll check the library. And I can really recommend Dragonlance. It has a crazy old mage named Fizban(Guess how they thought of Zifnab). What more do you need?

What're they missing? Elaith Craulnober.... *snicker* *is obsessed*
Did you know that Dune started a religion? The guy that wrote it kept getting all these calls about his new religion, and he had no idea what they were talking about. I laughed hysterically at that. It's like Zoroastrianism...... On a more serious not, that's the next book on my list to read, as Tad Williams has no more books coming out any time soon.
*sigh* They didn't have Elfshadow, only Elfsong. Wyn was cool as well, but I love the Moon Elves. And Elaith is just.... welll....... evil..... There's something about that kind of person. And his daughter *sniff*. I almost threw the book when I thought he died.
Bob: You did....
Dun: *mutters*

Didn't Tad Williams write a wonderful trilogy about elves? I read it and I LOVED it but I don't remember the title.

I haven't even mentioned Tad Williams, and somebody knows him!!! *hugs Cenerue* WOOT!!! *dances around manically until she finally hits the wall* Ouch...
You're talking about Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, yes? With the Sithi? I LOVE THE SITHI!!! Better than Elves, if ya ask me. And An'nai.... *sniff* You only know him for, what, three chapters? Then they have to go and kill him. *double sniff* Those are great books.
You read Otherland? Those are a little weird....

Aha, but these threads do not fall. Snicker. Want to read some interesting fantasy/LotR rip offs? Find the Rune Blade Trilogy. They're interestingbooks, and have that Tolkien feel to them. I've only finished the first Dune bookbut Ive started on others. They arent bad books, but very longa,nd i dont have much time.
Pern is coolio.

I read those pretty fast... mostly because I understood all of the terms and stuff like that. Dune is hard, though, because I'm not yet familiar with all of the terms, and I MUST FIGURE THEM OUT!!!!
*cough* What can I say.... I'm super obsessive compulsive as well. You oughta see me with crumbs.... *shudders, and wipes crumbs off the computer desk* I hate crumbs....

I'm fairly fast at reading, and even LotR gave me some trouble. Most of the Star Wars books I've read were fairly easy reading though. Especially the Young Jedi Knights, and the Jedi Academy Trilogy. I read Tales from Jabba's Palace in two hours. Dune took me a while to read, but I understood all of the terms. It's very political oriented, so it helps if you understand that, however.
Anyone read Finder? It's a fantasy/sci-fi/mystery story. It was a fairly fast read, and interesting. A strange take on most fantasy novels, anyhow.

Go Trinity!! Dragon Bone Chair is good, and yes, they are long. I now have this frustrating fixation with 700 page books. I love those books, because they almost don't seem like fantasy, but rather like a super ancient history -- they're soo involved!
The Otherland books are confusing. They're good 'n stuff, but they took me soooooo long to read. The fourth one took me a month, and that's a super long time. I read all of the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn books in a month.

Heh, 'nother post. Forgot to say something, and didn't want to take the time to press *edit* *is lazy*.
I'm over half-way done with Dune. And it's super good. I got the terms and stuff after the first chapter, it was just a bit daunting late at night, if ya know what I mean. Poor Paul..... *sniffle*
