Yes, I've read Witch Child! And Sorceress! They're both great! Has anyone read 'Troy', the book? It's about two sisters, Xanthe and Marpessa, who are living in Troy at the time of the war. Xanthe is Astyanax's nursemaid, and Marpessa is a servant in Paris and Helen's palace. It's great, it tells the legend really well. And my friend's mum is really good friends with the author! And England is cool. For one thing, I'm on holiday at the moment, while everyone in other countries is at school! Hahahaha! Rani, half half with all her dufflepud minions

Oh, yes!!! That is such a great movie... And that is my most favorite part.. "Oh mighty twig! Ye are powerful and... uh... twig-like." *dies laughing and crying at the same time*

veggie tales rocks much, though i havn't seen that new one yet. i don't really get into politics and nationality...i prefer just to hang out in the GFFA. and America is being so dumb right now. this year's elections are like...ick. i dislike both candidates.

*snicker* You could always vote for Ralph Nader.
*is resisting ranting about Politics* *has failed* Yes, but who would you like better. If you say Kerry, I'll probably cry. He claims that he is a born again Christian, and yet he supports partial birth abortion. I don't honestly care about the War in Iraq -- I think it needed to be done, and America is going the way of the Roman's anyhow --, but if you're going to say that you believe in a loving God, how can you support something that kills more children every year than Jews who died in the Holocost? America in itself is being a Hitler. I honestly feel like crying right now, because I've been emotional all day, and I want to cry every time I think about it. Any number of those children could have found a cure for cancer, diabetes, or any of the diseases running amok in our world. But they're dead.
Back on subject -- never read The Temple of the Winds. *shudders* Just don't do it. Even if your friend tells you the exact parts to skip. Don't do it.

(feels lost surrounded by American politics) Uhh... hurray for monarchies! It's kind of cool having a royal family. It's like a perpetual Big Brother, except they run the country. (imagines the Big Brother contestants running the country) Euuuurrrrgghhh.... Anyway, hmmm. Has anyone else read 'His Dark Materials'? I think they're just as good as LOTR, and better on the philosophical side. They're turning them into films too. Can't wait! Also, Pride and Prejudice rules. No question. Rani, half half

Okay, America is seriously going through a phase right now. Reality TV, Fruitsnacks, and Books made into Movies. First LotR, then That weird kid with the glasses... what's his name? Peeves: Potty Wee Rotter., Series of Unfortunate Events, The Chonicles of Narnia..... I'm waiting for them to recognize Tad Williams in this intriguing trend....

wow, this conversation has much improved; from politics to His Dark Materials and Tad Williams! i am, as i think i said, in the middle of Otherland 1 and immensly enjoyed the HDM series. the only problem i has was the contradicting of Christian theology which, though interesting if considered fiction, got annoying. i want a daemon!

I wanna daemon too! I think mine would be... a hamster or a guinea-pig, to be honest. Or maybe THE little flying guinea-pig. Which is why I thought of such a random creature... it's really the symbolism of my inner-self... HAVE FOUND A NEW FAVOURITE BOOK. Who else has read 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'? ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!!! Rani, half half , with dufflepud minions and a little flying guinea-pig as a daemon

(under breath) Forgotten Realms is ripping off LotR and Star Wars...
(even quieter) The Drow scare me...
(screams) MITHRIL HALL?! SHEESH! (annoyed) A GUY NAMED KESSEL?! Heh... (settles down) Good book nevertheless...
My favorite books still remain the same though...
Artemis Fowl is good...

I watched the PBS show once.... had dreams about human sized pigs for months...... And they were really weird. One of my friends was gonna marry one, but there was this cook who wanted to cook the Pig dude. So somehow we're all in this kitchen, with one of those ceramic bread ovens. Only it's huge... So somehow Pig-guy gets distracted, and the Cook shoves him in the Oven. No more Pig-dude. Hey, I told you it was weird.
Half way through CoGS, eh? Don't you love Orlando? I love Orlando. But I can't say anything else, or else I'll ruin it for you... Those were weird books as well.
You're right, they do steal from Tolkien. But, honestly, what Fantasy writer doesn't, in the End? Tolkien was the first one with Human sized Elves....
I like the Drow... don't know why, 'cause they're rather, well, evil. 'Cept Drizzt. I like Drizzt.

Orlando's cool, Dread is extremely scary, and !Xabbu has a cool name. "Drizzt" sounds like the sound a faulty lightbulb makes.

Has anyone read Eragon by Christopher Paolini? It's an awesome book; he said he greatly admires JRR Tolkien and the poem Beowulf. It's amazing someone could write like that when they are just a teenager.

I loved Eragon! Even though it was alot like LotR i still loved it! I think it's cool, that he was 15 when he started writing it! wow. I loved the part where Arya and Saphira go through that rose glass thing and get rid of the shade it was cool!
